Selling my beautiful 1971 Doge Demon that is a proven show winner, this car has won many best in show, best Mopar. It always comes home with a top award. Starting with an engine bay that you could eat off, that sits around a solid 440 BB, Holey 4 barrel, Dougs Header, dual exhaust. The paint is unbelievable Sublime Green, everybody loves the paint, the body is perfectly straight. A fiberglass 6 pak hood is installed but the original steel hood is included and is painted the same Sublime green and black to match the car. The tires sit on Riddler rims 17s in the front 18s in the back. The engine is bolted up to a 11 1/2 clutch and pressure plate mated to a 4 speed with a pistol grip shifter, this car is an original Hurst equipped car. The rear is a 8 3/4 with 390 posi gears. The chrome all around is in great shape. It has the original Radio, but it does not play, an aftermarket sound system with CD player has been installed. It still has the original bench seat, there are a few flaws in the stitching, my interior guy said a few hundred would take care of it but it still shows great. This is a show car but it is road worthy, it drives down the interstate with no problem, I usually do drive it to car shows up to 2 hrs from home. I have described it well but please come and look at it or your representative before bidding, you will be very impressed! MotorWeek relives '80s coupes with Dodge Daytona, Ford Escort EXP
Thu, Aug 6 2015Get ready for a wave of nostalgia and the rapid realization of the huge progress in performance cars over the last 30 years. For its latest Retro Review, MotorWeek takes a look back at two, front-wheel drive coupes from the '80s that seem to have entirely vanished from the roads today. Both the 1986 Dodge Daytona CS and the 1986.5 Ford Escort EXP were considered affordable, sporty options in their day, but the passage of time hasn't been kind to either of their specs. The Daytona certainly looks the part of a performance machine with a body that's reminiscent of other '80s coupes, like the third-gen Chevrolet Camaro. However with 146 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque from a 2.2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, acceleration wasn't exactly a strong suit. MotorWeek complained about copious torque steer, as well. The optional CS suspension upgrade package on this Daytona was apparently a nod to Carroll Shelby who was working with Dodge at the time. If anything, the Escort EXP withstands the test of time even worse. As a two-seat coupe, you might have expected Ford's engineers to really turn up the performance to fit the sporty image that the exterior conveyed. That didn't really happen, and depending on which model buyers ordered, they got either 86 horsepower with a 1.9-liter engine or the "high-output" version of that mill with 108 hp.
2015 Dodge Viper getting small increase in power
Tue, 29 Jul 2014The Viper is used to being the most powerful car in the Dodge and SRT stables, but the arrival of the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat means that's no longer the case. The serpentine supercar is, however, reportedly getting a small boost in output for 2015, amounting to all of five horsepower.
The increase was uncovered by Road & Track courtesy of the SAE J1349 certification process to which Detroit's Big Three automakers submit themselves and which reports the Viper's output at 645 hp instead of the 640 it was rated at until now. There are a hundred factors that could have contributed to the relatively mild boost in output (best guess? nothing at all changed...), but we doubt anyone's going to complain about some extra horses under the hood.
The five-horsepower boost brings the Viper that much closer to the 650-hp Chevy Corvette Z06, not to mention the 707-hp Hellcat, but the Viper's impressive power-to-weight ratio ought to mean it'll have little problem keeping up in a straight line - which is just one of the reasons why Chrysler won't shoe-horn the Hellcat into the Viper: as R&T points out, the supercharged engine is too heavy and the blower makes it too tall to fit in the Viper's engine bay.

Sat, 16 Aug 2014If you're an enthusiast, and you don't know that Dodge spawned another Hellcat this week, you really must have been living in cave. The 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat is probably the biggest news for enthusiasts since the reveal of, well the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.
But, there are some things you might not know or might have missed about the new Charger and Challenger Hellcats. For starters, reports that the Hellcat production would be limited to a low volume are not true.
"We have not capped the Hellcat on either the Challenger or the Charger," Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis said.
