1969 Dodge Dart Gts 383 Mopar Restored Fast on 2040-cars
Carroll, Iowa, United States
Well were do I start. I own a restoration shop and we built this dart for my girl friend. Well she's gone now (thank you)!!! It's a western sport special car, meaning it was born with a slant six and came from the west coast. The car was 90% rust free, and what rust it did have we replaced with AMD sheet metal. This is a very, very nice car with beautiful B5 blue paint, straighter than a arrow. She wanted cloth interior so it's got gray and black cloth interior, the buckets are out of a 73 duster. New dash trim plastic, arm rests and bases, headliner, sun visors, carpet, wind rollers, all weather stripping and window fuzzies. I'm a big block guy so I dropped in a 69 383 magnum that's freshly rebuilt. The 383 is .040 over, comp cam, new valves, springs, hardened seats, etc. The transmission is fresh, with a 2800 turbo action stall. It has a 8 3/4 axle with 3.91:1 gears and a sure grip (posi) also new. Put new bumpers on it, hood inserts, polished all the stainless and the aluminum trim. All new front suspension, installed front disk brakes. New tires, 2 1/2 inch exhaust. The car has less than 22 miles on it sense the restoration, including the engine. I've got a ton of money in this car, it was built right. You won't find a nicer muscle car for under my reserve price. This Dart truly is fresh and ready to tear up the streets.

Gauging reaction to the 2015 Dodge Charger Pursuit on Detroit highways
Sat, Feb 7 2015Steven Ewing and I kind of pretended to be cops a few weeks ago. No, not in the illegal way; we just took turns driving the 2015 Dodge Charger Pursuit around Detroit and its suburbs, learning invaluable life lessons along the way. A lot of those lessons came in the form of weird reactions from other drivers. Steve peeved his neighbors by surprising them in the parking lot, I can damn close to sitting in jail next to a murderer and we both caught our fair share of evil-eyed glances. One of my very first observations was a pronounced "bubble effect" when driving in traffic on the highway. Attempting to recreate the effect for the video camera, I grabbed Senior Producer Chris McGraw and we went for a ride in the name of pseudo psychology. The results weren't exactly as we'd predicted, but we had fun all the same. Get one more dose of your cop car fix, above.
Is Mopar readying a special-edition Dart for Chicago?
Sat, 26 Jan 2013Chrysler has released the above teaser of a limited-edition Mopar 2013 model that will be unveiled at next month's Chicago Auto Show. Although the automaker doesn't announce what vehicle will get the Mopar treatment, closer investigation of the seats and center console suggest that this car will be a special version of the 2013 Dodge Dart.
This will be the fourth Mopar model in as many years, following on the heels of the Mopar 2010 Challenger, Mopar 2011 Charger and the Mopar '2012 300. There are no details for the Mopar '13 Dart, but we do see that the car will retain the signature black-and-blue color scheme as past Mopar editions. Like these previous models, we expect production of Mopar '13 Dart to be limited to just 500 units.
Scroll down for Chrysler's press release teasing the new Mopar model, and we'll be sure to bring you plenty of live images from the show floor in a couple weeks.
Has Dodge stepped in it again with Scat Pack lawsuit?
Mon, 20 Oct 2014Lawsuits are an unfortunate part of doing business in just about any industry, so the latest complaint filed by a California-based aftermarket firm against Chrysler would seem to be nothing more than business as usual. But this isn't the first time the two companies have sparred over this particular issue.
According to a report from Automotive News, the dispute revolves around the Scat Pack name that Chrysler first offered on the Charger, Coronet, Dart and Super Bee starting in 1968. Scat Enterprises, a manufacturer of crankshafts and other components for Dodges and other vehicles, sued Chrysler for using its name. A few years later the Scat Pack disappeared from the Dodge catalog.
Fast forward to August 2013 when Chrysler applied to register the Scat Pack name anew. The US Patent and Trademark Office turned down Chrysler's application, but the automaker proceeded anyway, unveiling new Scat Packs for the Challenger, Charger and Dart at last year's SEMA show.
