This is the same model car that was only rated (most say underrated insurance companies corrected it to 325 hp) at 275 horse but could run with or outrun the 350HP 350 corvette and run with the 383 Dart GTS in a straight line and outperform the 383 gts in corners!  Here is a link providing more info about how incredible these cars really are

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrysler_LA_engine

I have included pictures of everything I have for the car, so if there is a part that's not pictured Its likely I don't have it! That being said I believe the car is very complete. If there are any items you are concerned about, please call me or email me through ebay and I can help determine if there is something missing!

This car is 99.99% rust free 1969 dart 340 gts 4 SPEED CAR with bucket seats console and factory tachometer. This is a very solid NEW MEXICO car . I purchased it from the second owner a month ago but due to financial reasons I cannot build it at this time. This car is very straight rust free and about the most solid old mopar I have seen in a long time. Body is straight (has had minor bodywork in 2 places  small scrapes on drivers rear quarter maybe one size of silver dollar and the other even smaller. These have already been repaired. it has all the original sheet metal and has never showed any signs of rust. Frame rails, quarters fenders doors, truck pan  and floor pans original solid and rust free. car has a tiny ding (about 1 cm dimple) by top body line just above and to left of gas filler hole, I showed it in the pictures. It also has a bend lower radiator support, looks like someone may have tried to tow it from radiator support or something, it may be able to be straightened but it will need a repair. Its a very easy repair to make, even for a novice! This car is very close to 100% complete, it needs some final sanding and then paint and re-assembly. THE 340 IN THE PICTURES IS NOT INCLUDE IN AUCTION BUT WILL BE AVAILABLE TO WINNER FOR $2900. IT IS COMPLETELY REBUILT PROFESSIONAL WITH MILD PORT WORK ON HEADS A 268 CAM AND EDELBROCK INTAKE (edelbrock name ground off intake painted orange for stock appearance). I have decoded all the options and they are listed below, this car has many desirable options!!!

I HAVE MORE PICTURES OF CAR AND PARTS HERE

http://s817.photobucket.com/user/ddodgeman03/library/dodge%20dart%20gts

The parts that are on newspaper in pictures have already been refinished/painted and are ready for installation.

I realize lighting in pictures was off on some, however if you need i can send more pictures so you can see how straight car really is.

These cars bring over $30,000 or more easily when completed. I have had estimates of $1400 to $2200 for paint and final sanding etc to complete body. It has new interior still in box including seat foam that needs replacing and headliner. From what I can tell car is very complete and many parts have already been painted and reconditioned. It will need some Misc parts like vinyl top headlights and battery etc. I estimated car could be completed for about $3000-$4500 depending on who did paint and interior/vinyl top and how much work a the new owner wanted to tackle himself (this would be assuming winner bought engine available for $2900 to winning bidder).

You could build this car enjoy then sell for a huge profit! As most people know its hard to get your money back out of most projects, but this car is so solid and complete it wont be a long costly painful restoration. I SEE SO MANY RUSTED OUT JUNK CARS SOLD TO PEOPLE LOOKING FOR PROJECTS. I WONDER IF THESE GUYS REALIZE HOW MUCH IT COSTS TO GET A RUSTED OUT JUNKER INTO THE KIND OF CONDITION THIS CAR IS IN? YOU COULD BUY A CHEAPER CAR THAT NEEDS TONS OF RUST REPAIR/BODY WORK AND PARTS, BUT IN THE END YOU WOULD SPEND WAY LESS TIME AND MONEY TO BUY A SOLID 99% COMPLETE PROJECT LIKE THIS. IT JUST MAKES SENSE!

This car has a factory tach that mounts on the console. Tack is in very nice condition and has been checked out and verified to work by a local company that works on auto gauges. THESE TACHS ALONE CAN BRING $1100 ON EBAY!!! Tach is included with auction along with everything else shown in pictures EXCEPT THE ENGINE!!!

If you are looking for a great muscle car to restore this is an easy project. Car was stored in dry storage in New Mexico for better part of 2 decades and it shows. The only rust is slight surface rust on a few surfaces, just hit quickly with sandpaper ans its gone! I invite you to inspect car and parts in person. Just call me at 505-203-3447 and we can arrange that!

Don't spend tons of time and money scouring swap meets and the net for parts then tons more time doing lots of rust repair to frame and body, with this car you wont need to!!!

This is a no reserve auction so bid to win, and remember  REBUILT 340 ENGINE IS NOT INCLUDED IN AUCTION BUT WILL BE AVAILABLE TO WINNING BIDDER FOR AN ADDITIONAL $2900, WHICH JUST COVERS COST OF REBUILD AFTER CORE WAS PURCHASED!

If you need car delivered that can be arranged but call me to make arrangements before you bid! I have a flatbed and can deliver for a reasonable price!

I have had a few people wanting to bid but aren't sure if they will have tax return in time, if this is an issue please contact me I am reasonable and I will work with you possibly extending final payment. Also, if I need to store vehicle for awhile while you arranging shipping etc call me and we can work that out!

Auto Mergers and Acquisitions: Suicide or salvation?

Tue, Sep 8 2015

We love the Moses figure. A savior riding in from stage right with the ideas, the smarts, and the scrappiness to put things right. Alan Mullaly. Carroll Shelby. Lee Iacocca. Andrew Carnegie. Steve Jobs. Elon Musk. Bart Simpson. Sergio Marchionne does not likely view himself with Moses-like optics, but the CEO of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles recently gave a remarkable, perhaps prophetic interview with Automotive News about his interest and the inevitability of merging with a potential automotive partner like General Motors. Marchionne has been overtly public about his notion that GM must merge with FCA. For a bit of context, GM sold 9.9 million vehicles in 2014, posting $2.8 billion in net income, while FCA sold 4.75 million units and earned $2.4 billion in net income, painting a very rosy FCA earnings-to-sales picture. But that's not the entire picture. Most people in the auto industry still remember the trainwreck that was the DaimlerChrysler "merger" written in what turned out to be sand in 1998. It proved to be a master class in how not to fuse two companies, two cultures, two continents, and two management teams. Oh, it worked for the two individuals at both helms pre-merger. They got silly rich. And the industry itself was in a misty romance at the time with mergers and acquisitions. BMW bought Rolls-Royce. Volkswagen Group bought Bentley, Bugatti, and Lamborghini, putting all three brands into their rightful place in both products and positioning. No marriages there, so no false pretense. Finally, Nissan and Renault got married in 1999. A successful marriage requires several rare elements in this atmosphere of gas fumes and power lust. But a successful marriage requires several rare elements in this atmosphere of gas fumes and power lust, the principle part being honesty. Daimler and Chrysler lied to each other. The heads of each unit, the product planners, and finance all presented their then-current and long-range forecasts to each other with less-than-forthright accuracy. Daimler was the far greater equal and no one from the Chrysler side enjoyed that. The cultures were entirely different, too, and little was done to bridge that gap. Which brings me back to the present overtures by Marchionne to GM. "There are varying degrees of hugs," Marchionne stated in the Automotive News piece. "I can hug you nicely, I can hug you tightly, I can hug you like a bear, I can really hug you." Seriously?

Chrysler celebrates 30 years of minivans with special editions

Tue, 03 Sep 2013

It's been known by many names: the Chrysler Town & Country, Dodge Caravan, Plymouth Voyager, Chrysler Voyager, Lancia Voyager, Volkswagen Routan, Ram Cargo Van... but the bottom line is that Chrysler's minivans have defined the segment for 30 years now. In fact, Chrysler says it has sold 13 million of them since 1983, helped along by the Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan that accounted for nearly half of all minivans sold in the United States just last year. So to celebrate this three-decade milestone, the Auburn Hills auto has announced a pair of new special editions.
The 2014 Chrysler Town & Country 30th Anniversary Edition starts the Touring-L trim and includes such special touches as 17-inch wheels, unique badging, available Granite Crystal Pearl paint and an interior decked out in black Alcantara and Nappa leather, piano black trim and all the optional bells and whistles bundled in.
The 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan 30th Anniversary Edition, meanwhile, starts off with either the SE or SXT trims and also upgrades with 17-inch alloys as well as color-keyed mirrors and an interior with silver stitching, piano black trim, power everything, and of course, those special badges.

2016 Dodge Viper ACR First Drive [w/video]

Fri, Jul 17 2015

The Dodge Viper is not a comfortable car. Livable, yes. The interior is covered in fine materials. But you still climb over a hot door sill to enter the tiny cabin. And the frequency range of the engine's noises seem specifically designed to cause headaches. What happens, then, if you remove all pretense of civility from a Viper and add equipment solely aimed at improving lap times? You would have the 2016 Dodge Viper ACR. In terms of achieving its purpose, this car is a absolute success. In many ways it's also the most honest Viper of the current generation. Prices start at $121,990 (including $2,100 gas-guzzler tax and $1,995 destination), or $32,900 more than the least expensive Viper. In ACR trim, the Viper loses the under-carpet padding, 9 of 12 speakers plus amplifier, carpet and trim from the cargo area, and sound deadening in front of the rear wheel wells. The parts of the interior still covered add healthy amounts of Alcantara or optional carbon fiber. That weight loss is compensated by the addition of go-fast bits like the giant rear wing (or the larger "x-wing" on the Extreme Aero Package), 10-way adjustable Bilstein Motorsports shocks, Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, a rear diffuser, and a front splitter. Total claimed curb weight is 3,392 pounds in Aero trim (standard ACR trim is 18 pounds lighter), which is within a few stone of the rest of the Viper lineup. The diffuser strakes and leading edge of the splitter are removable, made to be replaced after rubbing on track tarmac and make street driving slightly more practical. Not that you'd want to drive the ACR on the street, with the lack of noise insulation and spring rates twice as stiff as the Viper TA, but it is street-legal. Dodge claims the DOT-approved Kumho Ecsta V720 tires on the ACR allow faster lap times than some race compound tires. Our test was limited to on-track shenanigans at Virginia International Raceway. Which is fitting because we wouldn't have anything good to say about driving the car on the street. The ACR is, essentially, a race car sold in the showroom, although with the Viper's 1 of 1 customization program, your custom build can include as many creature comforts as you like. Lined up in pit lane at VIR, the Viper ACRs for our evaluation blur the air with heat shimmer. All of the test cars have air conditioning, but that shuts off at full throttle with a six-second reset.
