68 Dart 2 door  hard top in pretty good shape for its age. 273 2bbl V-8 runs good, no smoke, fresh tune up with new carburetor, plugs, wires, original non electronic ignition (points) 3speed A904 torqueflite transmission with fresh filter and fluid shifts great. Single exhaust.  Now for the good stuff:  8 3/4" rear end replaces the  7 1/4"with completely rebuilt with new axles, seals, bearings, brakes (including backing plate, wheel cylinders, shoes, hardware sets, new steel lines, breather, fresh gear oil.  Drive shaft shortened to accommodate the new rear end.  New leaf springs, hangers, U bolts, shock mounts, new rear shocks.  All new emergency brake cable (front to rear) New gas tank, mounting straps, sending unit, all rubber and steel fuel lines (front to rear)  Up front we have new upper suspension arms and ball joints, disc brakes (everything completely new) new master cylinder all steel and rubber brake lines new. New steering system (tie rods, adjusters, idler arm, pitman arm, new front shocks.  Wheels upgraded to 5 X 41/2 front and rear (no more left hand threads) new 14" rally wheels, center caps and tires front and rear.  Inside: new upholstery from Legendary (not the exact same pattern, but two tone green as it should be).  Dash, headliner door panels, instrumentation is all original and really like new.  Replaced the arm rest because they always fall apart,  carpet is ok but should be changed in the future.  Seat tracks work fine, package tray is in great shape. As I said, this is a radio delete car from the factory. All glass is good and all side windows work fine.  Outside: Vinyl top is great, all trim is in great shape, except trunk piece with DODGE, but I have a brand new one that goes with the car.  All chrome is in good shape as are the lights.  The negatives:  There is some rust through on the left front fender, and the wheel wells are showing rust.  left rear has been repaired some time in the past.  Wheel well trim is there but shot, I have new for all four wheels.  Summary:  This is a light green with two tone green intereior, with a black vinyl top.  Looks better than the triple dark green  (just sayin') The car is mechanically like new right now, it will need paint and body work to keep it in good shape for the future.  the trunk has no rust through and the floor pans are solid.  Barett Jackson? probably not; Good solid fun driver?  absolutely.  Why am I selling it?  I have a 68 GTS in the paint shop on one side of town and a 65 GT in the paint shop on the other as well as a 79 Magnum XE in the driveway and I'm always interested in good Dodge 4X4 trucks or a 4X4 Ramcharger  (trades? perhaps)  That's everything I can think of, but please ask a question if I've forgotten anything.   Winning bidder will need to send a $500.00 deposit within 5 days of auction end and pay full amount within ten days of auction end.  Shipping is the responsibility of the winning bidder.  Thanks

Chrysler readying Hellcat V8 with Viper-like power

Tue, 21 May 2013

A monstrous supercharged V8 engine could be in store for Chrysler and SRT products, if recent rumors are to be believed. Allpar is reporting that the forced-induction V8 - Chrysler's first, if this goes down - could make its debut this summer.
The story goes that the Hellcat would be based on a 6.2-liter Hemi engine, rather than on the existing 5.7- or 6.4-liter versions of the company's vaunted mill. In any case, the general consensus is that the motor will have gobs of power. Modest estimates call for between 500 to 570 horsepower, with some outliers predicting a figure as high as 600 hp. That figure would put the output would place the Hellcat awfully close to that of the 640-hp V10 in the SRT Viper, too. Allpar contends that a slightly lower powered version would allow Chrysler to keep costs below that of the more powerful Ford Shelby GT500, which might be a sweet spot.
The Hellcat could debut in a number of SRT products. SRT versions of the Charger, Challenger and 300 are all up for grabs, as is the rumored SRT Barracuda.

Chrysler Recalling 870,000 SUVs For Brake Defect

Wed, Apr 2 2014

Chrysler is recalling nearly 870,000 SUVs because corrosion may make the vehicles' brakes harder to use. Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango SUVs from the 2011 through 2014 model years are involved. Chrysler says crimp joints in the brake boosters can corrode if they're exposed to water. If the water freezes, the boosters won't aid braking as they usually do. Chrysler began investigating after some customers said their brakes felt too firm when pressed down. The company knows of one accident, but no injuries, due to the defect. Dealers will install a shield to protect the boosters for free and replace boosters that aren't working properly. Chrysler has since changed the design to make the boosters more corrosion resistant. Chrysler will notify owners of the recall, which involves 867,795 vehicles. FCA and UAW deal could mean huge production shakeups

Thu, Sep 17 2015

The big labor contract between Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and the United Auto Workers is likely to lead to some very serious production shakeups across the company's North American manufacturing operations. That's according to a new report from Automotive News, which details the sweeping changes at no fewer than five production facilities in Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, Mexico, and Poland. So without further ado, here's what's going where, presented in easy to digest bullet form. Ram 1500 production would move from Warren, MI to Sterling Heights, MI Warren, MI would be retooled for unibody production and would handle the Jeep Grand Wagoneer and could potentially build Grand Cherokees to ease the strain on Detroit's Jefferson North factory Chrysler 200 production would move from Sterling Heights, MI to Toluca, Mexico Dodge Dart production would move from Belvidere, IL to Toluca, Mexic Fiat 500 production, which is currently handled by Toluca, would be concentrated in Poland, where the Euro-spec Cinquecento is built Jeep Cherokee production would move from Toledo, OH to Belvidere, IL to make room for Wrangler and Wrangler Pickup production Like we said, those are some big changes. But, as FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne said in an earlier interview with Automotive News, this kind of shakeup would make a lot of sense. In that August interview the exec said that automakers moved truck production to Mexico because they were "threatened" by the UAW. "The only thing [the UAW] want is to move the truck back. Which is right. If you move the truck back here, which is [the UAW's] domain, [and move] all the cars that we get killed on somewhere else, we could actually make sense of this bloody industry and actually increase the number of people employed in this country and really share wealth because we are making money," Marchionne told AN.
