A good running 66 Dodge Dart convertible with a 273 V-8 and automatic transmission.
This car has had a 1963 Dart front clip put on it so it looks like a 63 Dart from the front.
We bought this car as a project and rebuilt the front suspension and installed a 1 1/8 diameter front anti-sway bar.
The carburetor, & alternator were replaced, the radiator cleaned and the engine was given a good tune-up, including a valve adjustment.
The engine starts right-up and runs strong.
Everything works, including the power top.
This is a solid California car with just a little "pin-hole" rust, behind the right rear wheel and on the rear floor.
This minor rust has been cleaned, treated & repaired. The chrome trim has some minor dings & scratches.
The automatic transmission shifts strong and this is the first year for mechanical shift linkage w/ the "slip-in" rear U-joint yoke.
This set-up makes it easy to swap-in all the other later Mopar LA engines and automatic transmissions.
The brakes work well and were inspected. Everything was clean & in order, with lot's of brake shoe lining left. (10 inch drum brakes)
The convertible top has been replaced and is in great condition, including the plastic rear window. (clear & no damage)
The inner top "well" has been replaced with tan vinyl material.
We no longer have time to complete this project so we are selling this car "as-is".
The car still needs final sand-out and paint. (It is in white primer)
The interior needs to be redone but the floors are solid & the original black color door panels are all in good condition.
The original jack is in the trunk and there is a new spare.
Things needed: The speedometer has a needle bounce and the turn single switch does not "cancel". (all lights work)
This car is in driving condition with a clear title and original California "Black & Yellow" plates.\
Fly-in and drive away... for Summer fun or for a restoration project.
Must sell - No reserve & no BS... This is a nice car as it is now and it has the potential to be a great car, with the addition of some interior & paint work.

Chrysler extends fuel tank warranties on LX cars, NHTSA ends probe
Tue, 18 Feb 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has ended its investigation of 153,817, 5.7-liter and 6.1-liter Hemi V8-powered 2006 Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger and Dodge Magnum models after reports of stalling. Chrysler has responded by granting a lifetime warranty on the fuel tanks for these vehicles.
NHTSA received 299 reports of engines stalling while the models were stopped or driving at low speeds, and began an investigation. The government agency found that the control valve shutoff float in the V8s' 19-gallon fuel tank could malfunction if the fuel had too high of an ethanol content. In many cases, the valve would break in the open position, allowing the tank to be overfilled, which would then cause the cars to stall. However, there were no accidents reported, and the vehicles could be restarted immediately.
There will not be a recall on these vehicles because, "the condition represents a low risk to motor vehicle safety and is adequately addressed by Chrysler's extended warranty," NHTSA said to The Detroit News.
Dodge Hellcat orders on hold due to 'unprecedented demand'
Sun, Mar 15 2015Want to get your hands on a 707-horsepower Dodge Challenger or Charger Hellcat to call your very own? We don't blame you, and you're not alone. According to Motor Authority and confirmed by a spokesperson from Chrysler, Dodge has gotten so many orders for its stable of Hellcats that it simply cannot keep up with demand: "Due to unprecedented demand for the 2015 Dodge Charger and Challenger SRT Hellcats, we are temporarily restricting orders while we validate current orders that are in the system." Put another way, if you're waiting for a Hellcat, your wait is likely to be a lot longer than you'd like. We've reached out to Chrysler to find out how long it might take for a new customer to get a new Hellcat, and we'll update if and when we hear back. Dodge Challenger Shakedown: '71 body, new guts
Tue, Nov 1 2016While Jeep has created a number of vintage-bodied custom vehicles with modern components, this year's SEMA show plays host to Dodge's take on the idea. The Shakedown concept began life as a 1971 Challenger and ditched almost everything in it, including the engine and chassis. What's left is a modern car with a retro look. The chassis was a particularly complicated part of the job, since the Challenger was originally a unibody car. However, Dodge chose to separate the Challenger's iconic body from its structural parts, and moved it onto a custom, one-off chassis from which the body can be removed as needed. The chassis also carries lowered suspension, Challenger Hellcat brakes, and a 6.4-liter 392 Hemi V8 connected to a six-speed manual transmission from the Viper. Dodge also installed the engine using the new Hemi engine swap kit from Mopar. With the shaker cold-air intake and custom exhaust, the Shakedown's powerplant makes 485 horsepower. View 13 Photos The body itself received plenty of tweaking as well. Dodge shaved off the drip rails, door handles, and turn signals for a cleaner look, and also fitted the grille, headlights, and taillights from a 2017 Challenger. The whole thing is finished in matte black paint with a "vibrating" stripe offset on the left side. The Shakedown also gets 20-inch Slingshot rear wheels and a pair of custom 19-inch versions for the front. On each fender is a bright red "392" decal that uses the same font as the labels on classic Mopars 360 cubic-inch V8s. Inside, the Shakedown gets the same radical upgrade as the chassis. Two Viper seats accompany a Viper steering wheel, and the rear seats are gone altogether. The Viper gearbox is shifted with a Challenger Hellcat gear knob, and carbon-fiber accents and leather adorn the wheel, door panels, instrument panel and center console.
