I am selling my 1963 dodge dart 170. Car was a project that I was working on but my circumstances have changed so I no longer have the time or money to continue with it. I have done a lot of work on it to get it to a daily driver state. Swapped the original 170 for a 225 and it has the original 903 3 speed push button automatic transmission. Had the head ported, planed and polished with new springs, seals and hard seats. Lower has had all seals replaced. Transmission has been rebuilt. Upgraded the master cylinder to a dual reservoir and replaced all four cylinders and a couple brake hoses. Engine has new water pump, fuel pump, alternator and coil. Distributor has newer points. Fuel tank has been dropped and cleared of debris, fuel lines have been blown out and the sending unit in tank has been replaced. Basically everything under the hood has been rebuilt/refurbished or replaced minus the carburetor, distributor and exhaust. Car has new front shocks and new rubber all around. Body is straight with no major dents to speak of. Car has some rust in the inner fender wells and floor pans. Pans have been roughly patched by previous owner. There is only one rust damage spot behind the passenger rear fender well. Other than that the body is in great shape. Interior is in need of restoration. All trim and emblems are present and in good shape. Hood ornament is present in glovebox but not attached. Clips were broken when I bought it. All glass is present with no cracks or chips. Interior only missing factory radio. Other than that, its all original. I removed carpet from interior as it was in poor shape. Vehicle was my daily driver but had to park it as it developed an issue with the fuel system. Car will start and run fine with no knocking or major issues, but then dies shortly after as if it is not getting gas. I suspect the issue lies with the carburetor as it is the only thing fuel related I have not rebuilt or replaced. I just do not have the time or money to invest further in it to be certain. Car is as it appears. If you have any questions please feel free to call me at 361-332-6424. Car is local pickup only. Will not ship

Dodge Viper saved from crusher by students, but will it last?
Tue, 16 Sep 2014The saga of the Washington state community college hoping to keep its allegedly pre-production Dodge Viper out of the maw of the crusher is going strong. Not only does the school still have the car, but there's a chance that the college might even get to keep it.
The whole situation flared up in March when the South Puget Sound Community College in Olympia, WA, received a notice from Chrysler Group that requested that the school's Viper be destroyed. The automaker had loaned the muscle car to it about a decade ago to use for educational purposes in its auto tech classes. With the Dodge growing long in the tooth, "it is unlikely that these vehicles offer any educational value to students," the company said in its press release on the matter.
However, the college balked at destroying its Viper, despite the fact it had signed a contract with Chrysler Group to do so. The school further claimed that its car was incredibly special because it was a pre-production example and just the fourth one made back in 1992. Although, as we pointed out at the time, the photos of the school's vehicle showed a coupe that looked like a newer Viper GTS.
Redonkulous Dodge Charger is ridin' high
Wed, 18 Sep 2013We're a bit hazy on the styling of this particular donk, which was recently spotted hashing about by HotCarsTV at the Southern Heritage Classic Car show in Memphis. Sporting a dope paint job and some wheels that make a blunt statement about what the driver enjoys, it's a unique take on the popular customizing trend.
The owner may be kiefing it real with the theme on this Dodge Charger, but when your car looks like this, it's easy to weed out from the crowd. Chronic police stops must also make it a pain to drive on a regular basis, though. Even with the big wheels, we bet the driver still finds time to light 'em up. Take a look down below for a brief video of this outrageous mean green machine on the road.
Chrysler expecting up to 200,000 9-speed transmissions for 3 models this year
Tue, 22 Jan 2013Striving for improved fuel economy, we already knew that Chrysler will begin using a nine-speed automatic transmission in some of its new products this year, but what we haven't known is that volume at which this gearbox will be used. According to Bloomberg, Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne has been quoted as saying that the automaker expects to sell close to 200,000 units equipped with this new transmission in 2013. Those gear-rich trannies will be spread out across three models, consisting of the redesigned Chrysler 200, the still-unnamed Jeep Liberty replacement and the Dodge Dart.
This transmission should play a pivotal role in making Chrysler vehicles more competitive in their respective segments. Just for comparison, one of the Dart's key competitors, the Toyota Corolla, still uses a four-speed automatic, and a previous report indicates that the next-generation 200 could get up to 38 miles per gallon on the highway, which is better than most non-hybrid midsize sedans on the market. Marchionne says that the new Jeep model is expected during the second quarter of this year, but there is no word as to when the new 200 or nine-speed Dart will debut, but clearly Dodge would like to have the transmission in its compact yesterday. As for that volume figure, it definitely doesn't seem out of reach since the Dart, Liberty and 200 combined for a total of more than 225,000 units in 2012.
How many more gears can we expect in future cars? Probably not many more, since the CEO of transmission-builder ZF, Stefan Sommer, previously stated that nine speeds was the "natural limit" for transmissions.
