2002 Dodge Dakota R/T SWB. 2 wheel drive, automatic transmission with 71,XXX miles. This is a super nice truck. It is a fast solid truck with many modifications. All done correctly. Unfortunately the truck has transmission issues at this time. I have a child in college and its more important to me to fund her needs than to try and fix this truck. I would rather just sell the truck than to let it sit untouched for who knows how long. I have NOT attempted to even diagnose the issues or take it to a shop. Please don't ask me to describe it anymore than this.....It has no reverse and will sort of drive going forward but has issues and seems to struggle shifting.  As soon as the problem started I parked it. This has been at least 2 months ago. I'm considering this a complete transmission failure. It has not been moved since. That's all I can tell you ......except to bring a trailer!
The exterior is near perfect. It has no dents or scratches. It is in very good condition for a 12 year old truck. It does have the usual "Dodge" clear coat peeling on the roof and the front quarters. The bed is in good condition with some scratching from the normal use. Bed cap on one side does have some paint peeling. The battery is located in the bed, all done correctly with a disconnect in the bumper. The windows are tinted. The wheels are factory 17" and shine like new. Tires are 255/50/17 BF Goodrich Scrochers up front and 275/50/17 Nitto's on the back. Lots of tread left. The truck has a 2/3 Hothkis lowering kit with traction bars. The interior is super clean. No rips or tears. The headliner is starting to come off a bit. Stereo is factory. The air is cold and the heat is hot.
The 360 motor is strong. It has ceramic coated headers, larger throttle body, 210X comp cam, M-1 Mopar intake, Mopar aluminum valve covers, K&N air filter. Exhaust is 2 1/2 dual with crossover and Dynomax muffler( 2 in and 2 out ). The truck sounds mean with a nice lope in the idle. I also have a hypretech programmer. The transmission has a transgo shift kit and stall.
The truck will be sold AS IS with the transmission problems. I know what the truck is worth and will not give it away. If it does not sell, no big deal. Please only bid if you are serious and have the means to come get it. I  am located an hour outside of Bentonville/Fayetteville Arkansas. I will not deliver. Pickup within 10 days of the end of the auction. Cash only!

Dodge not being dropped by Chrysler, CEO reaffirms

Mon, 16 Sep 2013

Dodge isn't going anywhere. Despite some rumor and speculation over the future of the crosshair grille and the cars that wear it, Dodge brand boss, Tim Kuniskis, sat down with TheDetroitBureau.com, explaining that the marque isn't going anywhere. His sentiments echo those of SRT boss Ralph Gilles, who told a group of enthusiasts in July that "Dodge is here to stay!"
Dodge's death won't be "a part of a master plan to consolidate brands," Kuniskis told TheDetroitBureau.com. Instead, the brand, which is ultimately under the command of Fiat/Chrysler CEO, Sergio Marchionne, will likely ditch some of its badge-engineered models, like the Dodge Grand Caravan. A more focused Dodge, which was something Gilles has already hinted at, will likely see it exploring areas of the market that haven't been exploited by other Chrysler brands.
Kuniskis, not surprisingly, wasn't willing to delve into any detailed product plans, telling TDB that the size of the brand's lineup "remains to be seen." Regardless of how big the brand actually ends up being (it is presently Chrysler's volume brand - and not by a little), hopefully the statements from Kuniskiss can put the rumors of a Dodge closure to bed.

Top torque-to-weight ratios under $100k, $50k and $25k

Tue, 07 Oct 2014

Horsepower may steal a lot of headlines, but the always-more-complex torque figure is often a critical one for both the workingman and the motoring playboy. The measure of rotational force represents the twist that can liquefy one's tires or haul one's horse trailer. Good stuff.
It follows then, that as with the horsepower-to-weight list that we assembled for you a few months ago, a list of cars that offer the most pound-feet with the fewest pounds to carry, is an interesting one to break down. Sure, there's a big difference in how the torque is applied from a turbocharged six-cylinder in a Swedish luxury sedan and a massive heavy-duty truck's turbo-diesel. But being the car/stat geeks that we are, we think it's kinda neat that those two vehicles rank near each other where torque and weight intersect.
As with the horsepower list, we've given you figures as pounds per every one pound-foot. Again broken down into broad price categories, we've got a mixed bag of 2014 and 2015 models here, too. Every effort has been made to select the most up-to-date prices and specs, and we've also to omitted some '14 cars that won't be re-upped after the ongoing yearly changeover.

Chrysler extending production of current Dodge Avenger, Jeep Wrangler, Grand Caravan

Wed, 24 Jul 2013

Are you hesitant to pull the trigger on a brand new Dodge Avenger in hopes that a new one will be coming? Well, don't hold your breath. According to The Detroit News, Chrysler will be extending production of the current Avenger sedan through the end of 2015.
Originally, we heard that the company would kill the Avenger to better focus its midsize sedan efforts on the Chrysler 200 replacement. But then new reports stated there would indeed be an Avenger successor, and that we could see it as early as next January. This Detroit News report cites supplier sources confirming the extension of Avenger production, though Chrysler has not released an official statement on the matter.
These same suppliers say that the current Jeep Wrangler will live on through mid-2018 - that's right, another five years. The Detroit News reports that a replacement for the iconic, go-anywhere Jeep was due in mid-2016.
