2001 Dodge Dakota 4bt Cummins Diesel Swap Conversion Auto Quad Crew Cab 4x4 Four on 2040-cars
Boca Raton, Florida, United States
2001 Dodge Dakota Quad Crew Cab Sport with a 4BT Cummins Turbo Diesel Swap Conversion 4x4 Four Wheel Drive FWD. This is a one of a kind unique truck that looks and sounds really good. No Accidents, structural, or body damage. 147,135 miles on the truck. Around 4000 miles on the engine. The entire truck was just repainted November 2013. Paint job has a 3 year warranty. Sleek looking truck. The interior is clean and well kept. This was a perfectly running Dakota with a V8 gas engine. I removed the engine and transmission, and had a 4 cylinder 4BT Cummins Diesel mated with a 47RE professionally installed. Valve body has a year warranty. This engine / transmission combo is a tank. The 47RE has a PCM from Suncoast. The 4BT has a turbo and intercooler. The engine was completely and entirely rebuilt inside after I bought it. There is a Boost gauge and Engine Gas Temperature (EGT) pyrometer gauge installed. Four wheel drive works. Power windows, power locks, and back window slides open. The truck seats 6 people. The front middle seat back folds down to an arm rest and storage. Has brand new brake pads and slotted performance rotors. Has a towing hitch and receiver. It has a 3 inch lift and LT305/70R16 tires with aluminum rims. Comes with a spare tire. I installed a Sony headunit with an aux jack for iPod and a remote, an Audiobahn amp, two 10" subs behind the rear seats, and 4 new speakers in the doors. It sounds great! There is an air train horn with a 2.5 gallon tank and compressor with fittings for filling up your tires or using air tools. If you can see this ad, then the truck is still 4 sale. Truck is ready to ride. There is no other like it with the same specs. You may find a shoddy manual trans swap job similar, but not even in this condition! I have the clean title. Cash only. No trades. No lowballers. No dreamers. Serious buyers only. Call: 561-271-8909 |

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles recalls nearly 750k vehicles in two campaigns
Thu, 16 Oct 2014Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is recalling a total of 747,817 vehicles in the US in two separate campaigns recently added to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration database.
The first one covers about 434,581 units of the Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, Challenger, Durango, and Jeep Grand Cherokee from the 2011-2014 model years with electric hydraulic power steering, the 3.6-liter V6 engine and a 160 amp alternator, according to FCA. In the affected vehicles, it's possible for the alternator to fail without warning and possibly cause the car to stall. According to the documentation submitted to NHTSA, the automaker began investigating the problem in August 2014 and has found possible evidence of one crash caused by the failures but no known injuries.
Customers will begin receiving notification about the recall next month, and obviously the repairs will be done at no cost to them.
Are supercars becoming less special?
Thu, Sep 3 2015There's little doubt that we are currently enjoying the golden age of automotive performance. Dozens of different models on sale today make over 500 horsepower, and seven boast output in excess of 700 hp. Not long ago, that kind of capability was exclusive to supercars – vehicles whose rarity, performance focus, and requisite expense made them aspirational objects of desire to us mortals. But more than that, supercars have historically offered a unique driving experience, one which was bespoke to a particular model and could not be replicated elsewhere. But in recent years, even the low-volume players have been forced to find the efficiencies and economies of scale that formerly hadn't been a concern for them, and in turn the concept of the supercar as a unique entity unto itself is fading fast. The blame doesn't fall on one particular manufacturer nor a specific production technique. Instead, it's a confluence of different factors that are chipping away at the distinction of these vehicles. It's not all bad news – Lamborghini's platform sharing with Audi for the Gallardo and the R8 yielded a raging bull that was more reliable and easier to live with on a day-to-day basis, and as a result it went on to become the best-selling Lambo in the company's history. But it also came at the cost of some of the Italian's exclusivity when eerily familiar sights and sounds suddenly became available wearing an Audi badge. Even low-volume players have been forced to find economies of scale. Much of this comes out of necessity, of course. Aston Martin's recent deal with Mercedes-AMG points toward German hardware going under the hood and into the cabin of the upcoming DB11, and it's safe to assume that this was not a decision made lightly by the Brits, as the brand has built a reputation for the bespoke craftsmanship of its vehicles. There's little doubt that the DB11 will be a fine automobile, but the move does jeopardize some of the characteristic "specialness" that Astons are known for. Yet the world is certainly better off with new Aston Martins spliced with DNA from Mercedes-AMG rather than no new Astons at all, and the costs of developing cutting-edge drivetrains and user interfaces is a burden that's becoming increasingly difficult for smaller manufacturers to bear. Even Ferrari is poised to make some dramatic changes in the way it designs cars.
Chrysler to reveal next minivan at 2016 Detroit Auto Show
Tue, Jan 13 2015All eyes in the industry are presently fixed on this year's Detroit Auto Show, but over at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, they're already looking towards next year's show. That's when the Italian-American automaker says it'll unveil the next Chrysler minivan. The announcement, made on the FCA Corporate Twitter feed, promises that the next Pentastar minivan will debut in January 2016, which (along with the hashtag NAIAS) suggests the next-generation family hauler will debut at the Detroit show next year. Auburn Hills is expected to replace the current Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan with two all-new models: one keeping the minivan form, and the other shifting into more of a crossover. Just which nameplate gets the new form factor, and which will debut at Cobo next year, we don't know. Odds are good that it'll be the minivan not the CUV, though. Chrysler's minivan has been a winning business for the Detroit automaker, pioneering the segment, outselling the competition and marketing around the world under more brands and nameplates than just about anything else in the industry. The vehicle has been sold as the Dodge Caravan, Chrysler Town & Country, Chrysler Voyager, Plymouth Voyager, Lancia Voyager, Ram Cargo Van and Volkswagen Routan, to say nothing of long-wheelbase Grand versions of many of the aforementioned nameplates.
