2000 Dodge Dakota Extended Cab pickup. 101,000 miles

2WD, 3.9L V6, Auto Trans

Equipped with power windows, power door locks, keyless entry, cruise control, limited slip rear axle.

I've owned this truck for 7 years but have only put about 22,000 miles on it. It's not my daily driver, just a spare truck that I use for doing “truck things”.

The truck runs and drives well. Engine starts and runs fine, trans shifts through all the gears, no slip, no strange noises, no check engine light.

The truck looks good, too. It's not beat up at all and the interior is in nice shape.

This is however a 14 year old Dodge truck so it does have some flaws:

The A/C doesn't work. (the evaporator leaks)

The ABS doesn't work and the ABS dash light comes on. (I've been told this won't pass Maryland inspection but I've had no problems in Delaware)

The rear bumper is rusty.

Minor flaws:

Steering is a little loose (probably the intermediate shaft as this is a common Dakota failure)

Driver's side mirror has a crack

Has a small rust spot on the passenger side door. (see picture)

I just put new front brake pads, rotors and calipers on it. I also just changed the oil and replaced the air filter. Within the last year, I put a new exhaust and new battery on it. All of the brake lines have been replaced in the past couple of years.

I put tires on it when I bought it. They are about 50-60% worn (22,000 miles).

The previous owner put a cold air intake on it and I just put a new JVC stereo/CD player in it with aux input.

All of the fluids (oil, trans, differential, brake, steering) are fresh. Plugs, distributor, wires, etc have been replaced during my ownership.

The truck doesn't need anything.

Currently registered in Delaware until October 2014.

I have 100% positive feedback through eBay and have sold several cars and motorcycles through the years with success. Again, this is a 14 year old Dodge truck with over 101,000 miles. If you're expecting perfection, this isn't it. If you're a reasonable person and have reasonable expectations of what an old truck should look like, then please place your bid. Once you place you bid however, you agree to buy it. If you win the auction, I expect you to complete the transaction and any problems that you may encounter after that are your responsibility.

Any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Dodge celebrates big B-day with 100th Anniversary Editions muscle cars

Wed, 20 Nov 2013

Being in business for 100 years is a HUGE milestone, so we hope Dodge has more in mind to celebrate its centennial than just a special edition package for the 2014 Charger and Challenger. Called the 100th Anniversary Edition package, this collection of cosmetic enhancements will be available in limited quantities for both cars at a cost of $2,500.
Ordering a Charger or Challenger with the 100th Anniversary Edition package means starting with either a V6-powered SXT Plus or V8-powered R/T Plus model. They can each be ordered in many colors, but only the High-Octane Red Pearl Coat above is an anniversary exclusive. Each car also comes with an anniversary-exclusive set of 20-inch, five-spoke wheels with what Dodge calls "Granite Crystal pockets," a texture that's also mirrored on each car's grille.
Of course, there are commemorative badges galore affixed to the exterior of each car, including "Dodge Est. 1914" fender badges and "100" logos on the center caps of each wheel. The styling theme of each car's interior is a bit more interesting, with Dodge designers trying to evoke "the patina and machinist legacy of John and Horace Dodge," the company's founders. To that end, the leather interior can be had in Molten Red or Foundry Black Nappa, and each features a custom cloud overprint that makes the hide look like a working man's dirty dungarees. Designers also used brass-colored accent stitching on the interior's leather trim pieces, and affixed more "Dodge Est. 1914" badges to the front seat backs and floor mats. We do like the flat-bottomed steering wheel, and the Challenger 100th Anniversary Edition gets exclusive white gauges faces and the Charger black. The "100" on each car's speedometer is also highlighted in red.

121k Dodge Darts being investigated over braking problem

Mon, Jun 22 2015

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating the Dodge Dart due to reports of braking problems. Some 121,000 cars are possibly affected, all from the 2013 model year. According to The Detroit News, NHTSA received 18 complaints about the brake pedal becoming hard to depress on these cars, increasing stopping distance. Drivers reported hearing a "pop noise or an air hissing noise when applying the brake pedal, followed by a hard pedal feel and reduced brake effectiveness," NHTSA told the News. In a particularly terrifying incident, one driver says the Dart's braking system shut down while driving at 50 miles per hour. "I feared for my life. It is one of the scariest things I have ever dealt with," the complaint said, according to The Detroit News. A Fiat-Chrysler spokesperson said the automaker is "fully cooperating" with this investigation.

Weekly Recap: FCA hit with record fine as NHTSA crackdown continues

Sat, Aug 1 2015

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration slapped Fiat Chrysler Automobiles with a record fine this week that could reach $105 million. The punishment comes after NHTSA found problems with the automaker's execution of 23 recalls that affect more than 11 million vehicles. The consent agreement, announced Sunday, calls for FCA to pay a $70-million cash fine and requires the company to spend at least $20 million over a three-year period on industry outreach programs and to beef up old recall campaigns. Failure to comply will result in another $15-million fine. FCA also agreed to federal oversight, which includes an independent monitor to oversee the company's recalls. The $70-million cash fine equals a penalty NHTSA levied on Honda in January. "Fiat Chrysler's pattern of poor performance put millions of its customers and the driving public at risk," NHTSA administrator Mark Rosekind said in a statement. "This action will provide relief to owners of defective vehicles, will help improve recall performance throughout the auto industry, and gives Fiat Chrysler the opportunity to embrace a proactive safety culture." FCA called the deal a "consensual resolution," but admitted that it "failed to timely provide an effective remedy" during certain recalls. "We are intent on rebuilding our relationship with NHTSA and we embrace the role of public safety advocate," the company said in a statement. The announcement kicked off a busy week for the automaker. NHTSA agreed FCA did not need to recall 4.7 million vehicles after an investigation failed to find defects with a power module used in some Jeep, Dodge, and Ram vehicles. A Georgia judge also reduced a civil verdict involving a death in a Jeep Grand Cherokee crash. Amid all of that, the company reported net profit of about 333 million euros, or $364 million in the second quarter on Thursday. OTHER NEWS & NOTES FCA ramps up Hellcat production Despite a decidedly legal and financial week for FCA, there was still time for the performance side of the business to briefly grab the spotlight. The automaker is more than doubling its production of the Dodge Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcats in response to strong demand. The order bank opens the second week of August and production begins in September. FCA will finish up its scheduled 2015 model-year Hellcat builds, and cancel any "unscheduled" versions, though customers will get discounted pricing for 2016.
