1992 Dodge Dakota 2w/d 3.9l 8'bed on 2040-cars
Sylvania, Ohio, United States
This 1992 Dodge Dakota is my daily driver. 117682 is the current mileage but I will continue to drive it until sold, approximately 60 miles per day. When I bought the truck summer of 2012 it did not run...needed a starter. Installed a new started and fired right up. At that time I put new spark plugs and spark plug wires. I have replaced the rear brake lines...rebuilt the front brake calipers...install new front brake pads...bought new front tires and had alignment last fall after replacing passenger side tie rod...replaced the thermostat and new water pump last year...summer of 2012 installed new fuel pump ( in the tank)...bought a class III trailer hitch at the junk yard and installed along with flat wire trailer hookup...new fuel filter...replaced battery last summer...charged the air conditioner last summer...reverse flush the heater core...and put a straight pipe with thrush glass PAC...last put in a used pioneer amfm CD player and speakers in doors. Now the bad...windshield is cracked on drivers side but does not interfere with vision...drivers door lock is broken...drivers side floor had a rusted hole so I put a piece of sheet metal under the carpet to cover the hole...rust at various locations as seen in pic's...clear coat pealing and parts had an orange peal appearance...passenger side rear tail light cracked...could use a new exhaust as now I am running with the straight pipe and glass PAC...had a problem with hot wire to fuel pump, fixed however now gas gauge not working and last the rear brakes are drum brakes and need attention. More good...bed is solid and comes with the bed liner...heater and air conditioner work good...drives good and is a solid work truck. Bucket seats, power locks, power windows, cruise control works, and tilt wheel.

Ralph Gilles responds to Dodge rumors, says brand is 'here to stay'
Fri, 12 Jul 2013This is why we love Ralph Gilles. While in Italy hanging out with a group of Viper Club members in Europe, the SRT boss took the time to respond to a question directed at him on Instagram in regards to the future of Dodge.
Recent reports have painted a bleak picture for Dodge, but Gilles defended Chrysler's full-line brand by stating that the rumors are, "all rumors, Dodge is here to stay! It may get more focused going forward but not killed!" The idea of a "more focused" Dodge brand could lend some credibility to reports that the Grand Caravan and Durango are on their way out, which would leave Dodge solely as a car, or car-based, automaker.
Chrysler slows minivan production, hasn't built VW Routan this year
Wed, 13 Mar 2013Chrysler has slowed production of its Town and Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans this week, Automotive News reports. The Windsor, Ontario plant will cut its three shifts from eight hours each to four hours each in an effort "to align production with market demand," a Chrysler spokesperson told AN. Chrysler also builds the closely related Routan minivan for Volkswagen at its Ontario facility, but has not built a single example thus far in 2013.
Sales of Chrysler's minivans fell 15 percent for the first two months of 2013, and a large part of that has to do with the 26-percent drop of the Grand Caravan alone (the T&C was only down by one percent). According to Automotive News data, as of March 1, Chrysler had an unsold inventory of 24,713 Town and Country models and 18,547 Grand Caravans - a 69- and 43-day supply, respectively.
"No sense running full speed now, then have a lot of vehicles sitting around a few months down the line," Chrysler spokeswoman Jodi Tinson told AN. Full production is expected to resume again on March 18.
