This vehicle has sustained major damage to the rear bed of the truck but all of this may be repairable!! I have substantial investment into repairing this vehicle when I first bought it befor it was in the car accident and the majority of these parts that were replaced are still in excellent condition!! I have provided several images of the receipts that were provided to me from the repair shop that did the work to the truck when I first bought it!! I have also provided an image of the Release for Property Damage from the insurance company showing the date of the accident so that you can compare the dates on the repair recipts to the date of the accident!! This vehicle is ready immediately and can be shipped at extra cost to the buyer if requested or can be picked up from my home!! This vehicle also has an aftermarket alpine cd player installed in the dash!! I am also including a BRAND NEW set of Windshield Wiper Blades and AC Charge as the AC unit in this vehicle will need charged!!! The Passenger side door is missing the interior door panel as the door does not open from the outside and we were trying to figure out what was going on with the handle assemble (the handle assembly is rusted on the inside of the door)!!! We still have the door panel and it is in good condition and will be included with the vehicle for this sale!! This vehicle will be wiped down and cleaned as best as possible on the outside of the vehicle and the interior of the vehicle is in GOOD condition as well!! There is a hood visor on the hood and both drivers and passenger side windows have guards on them as well!! The 4 American Racing Rims are in GOOD condition as well but the tires will need to be replaced all the way around as they are dry rotted on the inside part of each tire!! If you have a truck like this one that needs parts this is the perfect vehicle for your needs, if you are looking for a small project vehicle then this is still the perfect vehicle for you!! This vehicle is ready NOW and is the EXACT vehicle as shown in the images provided with this listing!! The frame is NOT damaged but the metal pieces that connect to the bumper and the frame are bent as shown in the images I have provided with this message!! These metal pieces are intended to absorb an impact from the back of the vehicle and bend and buckle to a point to prevent damage to the actual frame of the vehicle!! So it appears that they did the job in this situation!! I am not the original owner as I purchased the vehicle about two years ago!! Chrysler almost smothered the Hellcat before it lived
Thu, 06 Nov 2014Chrysler's 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat V8 was an absolute sensation from the very moment it was announced, and honestly, how could it not have been? Packing 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, its numbers immediately put every other production muscle car (and many supercars) to shame. Plus, we soon learned that would be wrapped in a package retailing for around $60,000 - a pittance compared to other vehicles offering similar grunt. However, the Hellcat almost never got the chance to rumble under the hood of the Challenger and Charger.
The Hellcat was initially proposed back in 2011, back when Fiat was deciding its future strategy for Chrysler Group, according to Automotive News. At the time, the company was just emerging from its bankruptcy doldrums, and an ultra-high-performance V8 wasn't exactly a must-have item. The program didn't move forward. However, SRT engineers kept fighting, according to AN, and four months later, they received the green light to pull the project off the shelf and continue developing the Hellcat. The muscle car world is certainly better for that decision.
The work of those engineers focused on taking Chrysler's standard 6.2-liter V8 and making it reliably handle all of the extra power from the supercharger. "It came down to micron levels of changes in the crank to be able to withstand the pressures of the engine," said Chris Cowland, director of advanced and SRT powertrain, to Automotive News. The changes amounted to switching out about 91 percent of the parts to make the Hellcat, including some quite minuscule alterations. For example, the washer holding the supercharger pulley is embedded with industrial diamonds to keep it from slipping.
Brits recreate iconic Bullitt chase scene
Tue, 13 May 2014Recreating the famous chase scene from Bullitt has become almost an art form in its own right. We've seen it done in a music video, with scale models and even in commercials. There are few films that are as defined by a single scene as the 1968 classic. Even if you don't know a single beat of the plot, the Highland Green Ford Mustang racing a Dodge Charger through the hilly streets of San Francisco is famous. It's so well known that the Silverstone Classic has created a homage to promote its celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Mustang at this year's event in July.
Filmed around the famous UK circuit, the short film generally gets the key points of the scene right. It even has a green Volkswagen Beetle that keeps reappearing, as in the movie. Unfortunately, its Steve McQueen stand-in looks a little too old for the role. While the video shortens the chase considerably, it's still great to see these '60s behemoths leaning and sliding around the track. Scroll down for a touch of nostalgia thanks to one of the greatest scenes ever in cinema - we've got both the recreation and the original chase seen from the movie waiting for you.
Challenger A/T Unlimited Concept could be your next Hellcat-powered ORV
Fri, 29 Aug 2014This past June I spent an excellent day hanging out with Joey Ruiter, driving and discussing his Reboot Buggy project. Before heading home, I let him know that he was more than welcome to keep me abreast of whichever new automotive project he'd get into. You can never have too many car designers and one-off fabricators in your Rolodex, right?
Ruiter recently made good with the follow-up, emailing me with details on this Dodge Challenger A/T Untamed Concept that pushes a lot of hot buttons for the muscle car and off-roading enthusiasts.
This all-terrain Mopar is a lot more than a Challenger body dropped on a truck chassis, too. A materialized version of the A/T would included a completely new, long-travel suspension, skid plates, body armor and rock sliders, and obviously flared fenders to help accommodate a hellacious set of off-road-ready tires. The dramatically revised underpinnings would be topped with a slick graphics package and a killer lower light bar, all making the A/T look quite cohesive in its own, radical way. And the result would be a car no longer limited to mere road-driving.
