1989 Dodge Dakota Long Bed Pick-up on 2040-cars
Fremont, Ohio, United States
1989 Dodge Dakota 3.9 V6 Automatic Long Bed Pick-Up Not a bad little truck. Could be restored, a big block dropped in it or a race truck.. or just a get around beater. Your choice. I am selling this for my brother as-is so I am listing what I know and was told. The cab and outer bed quarters have seen better days. The pics show the major bad points or rust and dents. The interior of the bed area is solid however from what I cab tell. The Poly tool box is included with the truck. The passengers side back window glass has been silicone but I don't believe it leaks. The rear bumper is in rough shape as you can tell by the pics...I wouldn't suggest towing anything. The tires are if fair shape except for the drivers rear. There is a leak and wont hold air for very long and the sidewalls are deeply cracked and split. The interior is pretty well trashed. The seats are ripped, dash cracked, no headliner, the hood release is just a cable but can be pulled with pliers to open, and lots of missing trim pieces. The washer control and headlight arm is a bit loose and wore. Defroster/heat controls are not working, so I assume its a heater control valve or broken cable/hose...but never found out where the heck it is/was. The engine is a 3.9 V6 engine that runs and gets it down the road. My brother was using this as regular transportation to work and back until purchasing a different car. It does take some time to fire up acting like a bad battery but the battery is only about a year old so I am thinking it could just use a good set of battery cables or ends. The transmission is an automatic. Still shifts and doesn't slip to latest accounts. Sold as-is, no warranty or guarantees. Local pick up only. The truck drives but a can a fix a flat or a spare should be brought along for rear tire leak. Good luck and happy bidding. |

Chrysler recalling 31k SUVs and vans
Fri, 06 Jun 2014Chrysler is issuing recalls covering roughly 31,700 vehicles worldwide due to two separate problems. In both cases the company believes that most of the affected vehicles are either still on, or in transit to, dealer lots.
One recall covers roughly 10,700 Dodge Durango, Jeep Cherokee, Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee SRT models from the 2014 model year built between January 16 and April 17, 2014. The SUVs need a software update for the cruise control. It's possible that when the cruise is on and the driver presses on the throttle, the acceleration could last a second after the pedal is released or two seconds for the SRT. Afterward, they return to the speed originally set by the driver.
Chrysler says it isn't aware of any accidents, injuries or even reported incidents of this happening in the real world. Also, in all cases, if the driver presses on the brake, the cruise shuts off. The automaker believes that there are about 6,100 affected SUVs in the US, 950 in Canada, 425 in Mexico and 3,200 outside of North America. The software upgrade will be ready shortly, the company says.
NHTSA investigating 110,000 Ram 2500s and 3500s, one death alleged
Fri, 23 May 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has launched an investigation focusing on 110,000 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups from model years 2004 to 2006. One death has already been reported, according to NHTSA, due to a potential fault with the clutch interlocks on manual-transmission versions of the heavy duty pickup.
According to the report, these trucks can be started without depressing the clutch. There have been three reports so far, and as we mentioned above, one very sad incident seems to have resulted in the death of a child.
"One complaint involved an incident that occurred when a child was able to enter the vehicle and start the ignition without depressing the clutch. The vehicle then moved forward striking another child resulting in a fatality," NHTSA said in the investigation bulletin, which you can view below.
2013 Dodge Charger AWD Sport
Tue, 29 Jan 2013We won't beat around the bush: The all-wheel-drive Dodge Charger is not a brand new car. This generation launched in 2011, AWD models and all. But for 2013, Chrysler has added an optional sport package to the AWD model, available with both the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 or the sweet, sweet 5.7-liter Hemi V8. The upgrades for this new sport pack are mainly cosmetic; a gloss black grille, new 19-inch alloy wheels and body-colored rear spoiler make up the list of exterior changes. Inside, there are new sport seats and paddle shifters, and the eight-speed automatic transmission has been reflashed for better performance.
But because vehicles like the Dodge Charger mainly stick out in our minds as being rear-drive bruisers, Chrysler wanted to give us the opportunity to test out the LX platform's foul-weather prowess. And perhaps no place more appropriate to test such a system was way up in Michigan's Upper Peninsula in the dead of winter.
