Dodge Coronet Super Bee Coronet on 2040-cars
Lincoln, Nebraska, United States
1969 Dodge Coronet Super Bee 2 door hardtop. 383, factory 4 Speed car. Darn near perfect! Original engine and transmission. Partial VIN on both and casting dates are correct. Partial VIN on radiator support. VIN tag itself looks to have never been off. Correct rivets. It’s real! Original fender tag. No build sheet found. Factory N96 Ram charger hood. Original M46 side scoops. No power steering or brakes. AM Radio. Sure Grip with 3:91 Gears. She's a beauty. This very solid original sheet metal car was a drag race car in Colorado for several years. It was restored here in Omaha about 8 years ago. It took about 3 years to do it. Has pretty much sat in a collection since restored. The Bee has driven about 300 miles or so. All panels appear to be the factory panels. Note the factory "tabs" on the bottom of the rear quarters. Original Y2 yellow with white and black interior. The car is all the correct shade of Y2 Yellow. A few pictures were taken indoors and the cameras flash makes the yellow look darker. There was over $78K PLUS in restoration costs. That’s when he stopped counting. Money meant nothing to this collector / builder. Over $20K in paint / rotessorie alone! Dead straight body! High shine gloss body! Pretty much everything is new. And I mean everything! From the dome light to tires. Front bumper to rear. Headlight, tail light bezels, re chromed bumpers, complete interior from Legendary. Door frames were base coat clear coated. Dash, dash pads, glove box, gauges, radio, console top, wooden steering wheel, all trim was polished. Glass is new. Door handles, mirrors, the complete Ram Charger set up is new. And on and on. The engine was rebuilt as well as the transmission and rear end. The engine has a Mopar performance 440 steel crank. All comp valve train. Many performance parts in the engine were used. All done right! And all stock appearing. The sure grip rear end gears are 3:91’s. The original 4 speed was gone through. High performance parts through out it too. 15 inch red lines with magnum wheels. Non radial red lines. Front suspension rear suspension all re worked. See under body pictures. Could use 4 wheel alignment. All drum brakes. The Trunk floor excellent, the interior floors excellent. There was a roll bar in the car and the two mounts were repaired behind the bucket seats on the floor. Again this was a very solid car when it was being restored. Under the hood all appears as it did when the car was new. Wires, clamps , hoses. The car has been driven, so not perfectly fresh but darn close. See pictures. The battery is new. The under body looks as nice as the top, well close. I had a leaky transmission seal were the drive shaft mounts and got some fluid splashed about. I cleaned it all. However there is some staining on the exhaust. Some steel wool should fix this. To sum it up you have a car here that’s a beautiful example of true Mopar Muscle. Numbers match from what I see and its just about darn near perfect. You are welcome to have it inspected or come see it yourself. This is a 7 day auction. If you need any further information please call me anytime at 402 659 1118. I'm in Omaha Ne. Close to I 80. This car is immaculate. This fine car is being sold “AS IS”. I represent everything I own and sell as best I can.

Dodge launches 1 of 1 Viper configurator
Fri, Apr 17 2015Get comfortable because you might be spending a good chunk of time in front of the computer on this. The configurator for the 2015 Dodge Viper GTC 1 of 1 is now online, and it's a ton of fun to play around with. Mechanically, the GTC is just like every current Viper with a 645-horsepower, 8.4-liter V10. But for the special editions Dodge lets buyers tinker with practically everything aesthetic thing. For the exterior alone, the choices include some 8,000 available body colors, two stripe styles in innumerable shades, two hood designs and various brake caliper hues. Plus, there are 16 upholstery colors inside, and options like red seat belts and carbon fiber trim. Dodge reckons there are over 25 million possible combinations, and the models are available to customers on a first-come-first serve basis for each model year. Although, two people wanting identical cars seems pretty unlikely. The configurator is a beauty too. It makes all of these myriad options extremely easy to pick from, and there are even four resolution settings to see your creation in the best possible way. Prices for the GTC start at $94,995 and deliveries are set to start in the second quarter of the year. Although, even if you have no intention of buying one, specifying these custom coupes is still highly entertaining.
Dodge Grand Caravan to live in fleets through 2017
Mon, Jun 22 2015After a hard-working career of hauling around families for decades, the Dodge Grand Caravan name was set to retire in 2016 under FCA's five-year plan for the US. The decision would have put all of the automaker's focus behind the next-generation Chrysler Town & Country, but that original strategy might have changed. Now, Dodge's minivan may have to work just a few more years before it can finally shuffle off. There are set to be 2016 and 2017 model year examples of the current Grand Caravan, according to an internal FCA production document obtained by Automotive News. This report suggests no changes in the minivan between those two years, and there's no mention of the company's intentions deeper into the future. "While we've announced the Grand Caravan will eventually be the minivan that goes away, we're not going into more detail at this time," a Dodge spokesperson said to AN. For the next Town & Country, production would start in Windsor, Ontario, in late February 2016. This document also suggests a brief run of 2016 Chrysler minivans based on the current model from August 2015 until February 2016. Automotive News speculates that the reprieve for the Grand Caravan could allow that model to focus on fleets and the Canadian market while the new Town and Country gets up and running. The latest generation T&C will reportedly debut at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show and will possibly carry a higher price to befit a vehicle with a more modern platform and improved tech.
2015 Dodge Charger R/T Scat Pack Quick Spin
Thu, Jun 18 2015"Scat Pack" is plucked from The Big Book of Dodge Nameplates to describe what is basically the average of the Charger R/T and Charger SRT 392. Unnecessary horsepower always seems to go down better with a dose of heritage. If you think it's a silly name, just be thankful Dodge didn't call it an S/RT or an R/T-S. In previous years, a similar formulation was known as the SRT8 Super Bee. Going by another name, it's still as sweet and wears the same hurried-looking pollinator on the grille. We do wonder: What has displeased him so, and why does he have wings and wheels? The packaging is at least fresh. All Chargers get updates for 2015, including improved interiors and a Dart-on-steroids exterior redo. The new lines work especially well on the more aggressive models, including this Scat Pack car. Like the Super Bee before it, the Scat Pack gets the 6.4-liter engine from SRT 392; for 2015 it gets a slight output boost to 485 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque, respective increases of 15 and 5. It does without the SRT three-mode suspension and comes with cloth seats (leather is an option) to keep the price down. The Scat Pack also has slightly smaller Brembo front brakes, narrower wheels, and different rubber. It does, however, cost eight grand less and is just as quick in a straight line. Intriguing. Driving Notes Scat Pack cars get an electronically controlled active exhaust that we'd call hyperactive. It's loud all the time, opening its widest at startup, idle, and when you ask for any appreciable amount of power. Sport mode supposedly makes a difference, but we couldn't discern loud from louder. It's a delicious and appropriate loudness, with a brassy trumpet tone to it, and the engine makes top-fuel noises at full tilt. The squeal of the rear tires can be heard from every stoplight no matter the road conditions. A light touch avoids leaving a mark if you're so inclined. We weren't. When the tires eventually smear into the realm of traction, this thing is pretty quick – hitting 60 miles per hour takes 4.5 seconds. There's also an adjustable launch control mode if you want to cut out some of the wheelspin. The eight-speed transmission shifts smoothly. Quicker, more-palpable shifts are had in Sport mode, but occasionally the transmission still needs a moment to drop down from seventh or eighth when you mash the throttle. Despite its two overdrive gears, this Charger is still loud on the highway. In a good way. Probably.
