Classic, 270 Poly, Coronet, 1956, Hot Rod, Rat Rod, Custom, Dodge, 2-door, Mopar on 2040-cars
Bryan, Texas, United States
What a great classic car I am offering up for sale. This is my 1956 Dodge Coronet 2 door hardtop that is a head turner for sure. This car is one you don’t see every day and is usually the only one present a the car shows I have entered it in. Most people who questioned me about my car say they remember them in the 50’s as a cool and fun cruiser. Some remember it as one they owned back in the day.
This car is almost original with only a few modifications for the better. I personally rebuilt the engine about 9 months ago. I have currently put approx.600-700 miles on the engine. I runs like a top and cruises down the road like a Cadillac. A previous owner put a new style radio in the dash and when I bought it the radio was bad so I replaced it along with new speakers. At least now you can cruise down the road with AM/FM radio and also a CD-DVD player. I have replaced the old oil bath air cleaner with a small custom one and the wheels you see on the car have been replaced. I still have the original oil bath air cleaner and the original wheels and hub caps that go with the purchase of the car.
How cool do you think it would be to cruise in a car like this with the push button 2-speed automatic transmission, new upholstery including the headliner and a new engine. The paint and body is in not so great condition but this is how I planned to leave it to create the classic effect. Now let me list some features of the car. 1956 Dodge Coronet (Lancer trim) 2-door hardtop no post 270 cubic inch Poly “Red Ram” engine (new rebuilt) 2-speed Powerflite push button automatic transmission 5 spoke Eagle Allow wheels 15” wide whitewall tires with nearly new tread 4 wheel drum brakes (manual) 12 volt electrical system Rebuilt steering box (manual) All new radiator and heater hoses Rebuilt 2 barrel carburetor Rebuilt distributor including points, condenser, cap and rotor and all new spark plugs. Engine oil filter converted to a spin on. New master cylinder New Kenwood AM/FM radio CD/DVD player New Kenwood rear speakers New upholstery Front seat belts added No broken glass anywhere New Gabriel air shocks on rear …more features but I feel like photos are the best way to get the real feel about the car so I will post many. If you have a request for a photo of something different than posted just let me know and I will send them directly to you. This vehicle is being sold "AS IS" with no warranty. All pickup and shipping cost are to be paid by the buyer. Deposit in NON-REFUNDABLE. Please make sure you view the photos and description carefully to satisfy your questions. Email me for any questions you may have that I have not addressed. Vehicle is listed for sale locally and I reserve the right to sell if a local buyer comes through with the sale. Continental Automotive recalls 5 million airbag control units
Thu, Feb 4 2016Takata isn't the only supplier having airbag problems. Rival manufacturer Continental Automotive Systems announced a recall of 5 million airbag control units fitted to vehicles from Honda, Fiat Chrysler Automotive, Mercedes-Benz, and even a certain Chrysler-based Volkswagen. This sweeping recall has actually been in progress for some time, although the exact scope is only now becoming evident. In October of 2015, Mercedes-Benz recalled 2008 and 2009 model year C- and GLK-Class vehicles because their Continental-made airbag control units could corrode. Such a condition could cause the airbags to deploy without cause or warning, or in the event of a crash, not deploy at all. You can read all about it in our post from last year. Now, Continental's recall is going wide. Alongside the already recalled C and GLK, you've already heard about the 2008 and 2009 Honda Accord airbag recall, which we reported on yesterday. Now, Fiat Chrysler is announcing the recall of the 2009 Dodge Journey, as well as the 2008 and 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan, Chrysler Town and Country, and their rebadged counterpart, the Volkswagen Routan. Yes, one manufacturer is recalling another manufacturer's vehicle. The models listed above only amount to about 580,000 vehicles out of 5 million bad airbag control units. And since Continental will notify manufacturers who will then issue their own recalls, it's extremely likely that more brands and vehicles will be ensnared. Stay tuned. Stellantis and Foxconn's new joint venture will focus on connectivity
Wed, May 19 2021MILAN — Carmaker Stellantis and TaiwanÂ’s Foxconn announced plans to develop a jointly operated automotive supplier focusing on technology to make vehicles more connected, including artificial intelligence-based applications and 5G communications. Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares said the services that will be developed through the tie-up “will mark the next great evolution of our industry,” alongside fully electrified and hybrid powertrains. The deal brings together Stellantis, the worldÂ’s 4th-largest automaker formed this year by the merger of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and PSA Peugeot, and Foxconn, a major supplier of iPhones. The companies said the venture would focus on such services as infotainment, the integration of telecommunications and computer systems, artificial intelligence-based applications, 5G communications, e-commerce channels and smart cockpit integration. The companies announced a non-binding memorandum of understanding to form a 50-50 joint venture called Mobile Drive, which will be based in the Netherlands and function as an automotive supplier also to other carmakers. The new venture will combine advanced consumer electronics, Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI) to create new services “that will exceed customer expectations,” the companies said in a release. “Customers today and, in the future, demand and expect ever-increasing software-driven and creative solutions to connect the drivers and passengers with the vehicle inside and out,Â’Â’ Foxconn Chairman Young Liu. Fiat-Chrysler shows its SEMA lineup
Fri, 24 Oct 2014Fiat Chrysler Automobiles already previewed its 2014 SEMA show lineup with some slick renders. Now, the automaker has finally showed us the actual cars, and among the group there are definitely some that stand out more than others.
Dodge is really showing off its muscle at this year's show with four concepts that all pump up the power of the brand's models. Perhaps most interesting among them is the Challenger T/A Concept (pictured above) in striking Sublime Green and matte black. It's meant to resemble the classic Trans Am racer from the '70s. Under the hood is a 6.4-liter V8, and to fit the vintage style there's a pistol-grip gearshift inside.
The Charger R/T also gets some attention with the Mopar concept that shows off what FCA's aftermarket performance arm can do. Mods include an updated body kit, cold-air intake for the 5.7-liter V8 and a coil-over suspension kit. Beyond that, the Dart R/T Concept looks a lot meaner with a black hood with duct work that leads straight to the air intake. The rest of the compact sedan is dolled up in O-So-Orange paint and is fitted with upgrades to improve handling like a coil-over suspension and big brake kit from the Mopar catalog.
