1970 Dodge Coronet Super Bee Project Car on 2040-cars
Green Bay, Wisconsin, United States
1970 Super Bee project car. This is not a clone, this is a real Super Bee! Car was restored to almost 100% back in 1995 then lost through a divorce situation. For years after that miscellaneous part were removed and sold. The good. 1. As you can see in the pictures, what remains is a hull which is as nice as when it was completed in 1995. Paint is flawless both on top and under the car. No rust, chips scratches etc. 2. Car comes with a set of NOS front fenders completely rust free. 3. Hood and scoops also NOS in excellent condition. 4. Front bumper, grill, inserts etc. in excellent condition 5. Only body work necessary is slight repair on one of the doors, prepping painting and assembly. 6. Numerous chrome pieces, more than what is going to be required. 7. Dash with I believe complete parts but needs restoration. 8. All glass included. 9. Numerous other parts, battery tray, seat belts, door and window handles armrests extra steering column etc. etc. 10. Clutch and brake pedal assembly still in car The not so good. 1. Original drive train gone except for rear end. I do have a I believe 1968 440 which comes with the car. I was going to buy a salvaged modern hemi charger and do a resto mod on this vehicle, but have too many other projects. 2. Dash is correct but not from this car, which means the VIN number does not match. I have a clean Wisconsin title. In checking with the Wisconsin DMV they have no issue registering the car with the title since the VIN number remains in numerous locations. Check with your state before bidding. 3. Rear seat is included but there are no front seats. 4. No rear bumper. This car is likely the easiest restoration you will find if you are looking to build a quality 1970 Super Bee. This was a one year production model only. Car of course is sold as is, $500 deposit required within 48 hours of purchase. Buyer to arrange for shipping but seller will assist. |

2015 Dodge Challenger crash test results slip from last year's model
Mon, Dec 22 2014The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has released the results of its latest round of crash testing, announcing that the 2015 Dodge Challenger has netted a five-star overall crash rating. Of course, Chrysler won't want us to tell you this, but that NHTSA overall rating is not the whole story here. As The Car Connection so astutely points out, five-star rating aside, the refreshed 2015 Challenger actually performed worse than when it was tested back in 2013. The V6-powered SXT model tested by NHTSA in this latest round of testing was only able to record a four-star rating in its frontal crash test, while it nailed a five-star rating in the side-impact test. The 2013 Challenger managed a five-star rating in the frontal test. Of course, while this rating is a sign of overall good news for Challenger fans, the car, as TCC argues, has yet to be tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. It'll be interesting to see if these NHTSA ratings translate to an IIHS Top Safety Pick or Top Safety Pick Plus. Scroll down for the full press release from FCA. All-new 2015 Dodge Challenger Earns Five-Star Overall Safety Rating From U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration 2015 Dodge Challenger coupe earns five stars overall, the highest possible score in NHTSA's safety rating program More than 70 safety and security features, including new for 2015 class-exclusive Forward Collision Warning, adaptive cruise control, Blind-spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path detection All-new 2015 Dodge Challenger starts at $26,995 (excluding tax, destination and title) December 18, 2014 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - The all-new 2015 Dodge Challenger has earned a five-star overall safety rating from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Five stars is the highest possible safety rating given by NHTSA. "The new Dodge Challenger coupe further demonstrates our commitment to broaden the proliferation of advanced safety technologies, such as driver-assist features," says Scott Kunselman, Senior Vice President-Vehicle Safety and Regulatory, FCA-North America. In its assessment of the new Challenger, NHTSA notes the availability of Forward Collision Warning (FCW), which features forward-facing sensors programmed to detect the potential for certain types of frontal collisions. If detected, the driver is alerted with visual and audible warnings. The 2015 Dodge Challenger is the only car in its segment with such capability.
Chrysler minivans under investigation for stalling after fuel refill
Wed, 10 Sep 2014According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, at least one man has reported that his 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan stalled unexpectedly on the highway shortly after being refueled. The unidentified man who contacted NHTSA regarding the issue cited as many as eight similar instances reported by other drivers.
NHTSA has announced that it will launch an inquiry into this issue, which could affect as many as 160,000 minivans from Dodge and Chrysler that were sold in 2007 (or more, if a problem is found that extends to additional models years, we'd assume). As of yet, there's no formal investigation, let alone a recall, on these vans, as the agency is merely determining if further action is needed.
Two months ago, Chrysler recalled nearly 700,000 vehicles, the majority of which were minivans, from the 2008-2010 model years to replace ignition switches after an investigation found that their weak springs and detent positions could fool a driver into thinking the car was in the "Run" position, when it's actually in the "Accessory" position.
Germany threatens to ban FCA vehicles over diesel emissions dispute
Tue, May 24 2016Germany is threatening to ban sales of FCA products over diesel emissions. According to the newspaper Bild Am Sonntag, Germany's Federal Motor Transport Authority found evidence of a so-called defeat device that shuts down certain emissions controls after running for 22 minutes. A standard diesel emissions test in the European Union reportedly takes 20 minutes to complete. FCA denies the allegations. "We believe all our vehicles respect EU emissions standards and we believe Italian regulators are the competent authority to evaluate this," the company said in a statement. The latter part of that statement drew ire from German authorities, especially after FCA declined to meet with German transport minister Alexander Dobrindt to discuss the issue. Graziano Delrio, the Italian Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, vowed to work with German authorities on behalf of FCA. According to EU law, FCA is required to homologate its vehicles in Italy because that's where its regional operations are based. When will the diesel-scented soap opera end? We wish we knew, but our Magic 8 Ball is covered in soot.
