1969 Dodge Coronet 500 Project Car - Matching Numbers 1. All body work complete - replaced trunk, quarter panels, outer wheel well, tail panel, trunk extensions, Dutch Panel, Rear window corners, and RH door skin. 2. Frame rails solid. 3. New Jet Black Paint and Tail Panel Stripe. 4. Six Pack hood scoop done using the textured Organisol paint. 5. Fender Tag in place - no broadcast sheet (I found it shredded and stuffed in the headliner - pics included) 6. 8 3/4 rear end with 3.91 gears 7. 727 Automatic Transmission 8. Bucket Seats with Console - factory A/C car. This is a beautiful project car that is about 75% complete. I have spent more than 12K in body work, paint, and new seat re-upholstery. The engine ran strong before I decided to tear down and start restoration. I have 90% of all the parts needed to get the car back up and running. Floors, trunk, and engine bay are not painted. The floors and trunk have been coated with Rust Bullet in preparation for laying down Lizard Skin. The car has the original 383, and would be a great candidate for a stroker setup. These cars are getting harder to come by every year - the hard part is done and all the fun stuff is left. ****Disclaimer**** The car is being sold as-is and comes with no warranty and no returns. I also reserve the right to cancel this auction at any time while the car is being sold locally as well. $500 non-refundable deposit due within 24 hours of auction close. |

Will airbags sandbag the 2017 Dodge Viper?
Thu, Jan 14 2016The Dodge Viper is speeding down the road to cancellation for the 2017 model year, and at least part of the reason for the V10 monster's death is a problem fitting it with federally mandated side curtain airbags. An anonymous source close to FCA US told Motor Trend the automaker can't install the parts because they would further limit the coupe's already tight headroom. The government believes the side curtain airbags can reduce occupant ejections during accidents, and all vehicles must have them for the 2017 model year. The Viper's slow sales also don't provide FCA US much motivation to work out a solution to this problem. The automaker moved just 676 of the handmade sports coupes in the US in 2015, which was down 11 percent from 760 deliveries in 2014. FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne hinted at the Detroit Auto Show that the Viper could return eventually. He doesn't like that the current model has a dedicated platform but indicated a new one could share the underpinnings with another of the company's products. Marchionne's current business plan for FCA stresses building the automaker's value, so it might be a while before we see the sweater-clad CEO focusing on a niche vehicle like the Viper. Dodge Viper GTS-R goes back to old-school livery
Fri, 20 Jun 2014The Dodge Viper may have been around now for over 20 years, but as far as racing achievements go, 2000 was its finest season. That's when it won the Rolex 24 at Daytona, the GTS class trophy at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and its second consecutive title in the American Le Mans Series.
Since then, SRT Motorsports hasn't quite had the same success, withdrawing from Le Mans this year and shedding the Dodge name and its emblematic red and white livery for the SRT badge and a silver snakeskin theme. But now that the Viper is back under the Dodge banner, so too is the racing team returning to its classic livery.
Starting from the six-hour race at Watkins Glen next week, both the No. 91 and No. 93 Viper GTS-Rs will wear the red base color with twin white racing stripes that its more accomplished forebears wore on circuits around the world. And with it, maybe the Viper will return once again to the winner's circle at home and abroad.
Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you
Thu, 21 Feb 2013As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.
