1968 Dodge Coronet 440 Sedan 4-door 5.2l on 2040-cars
Kenton, Ohio, United States
Hello and welcome to our auction. What we have for you to bid on is our 1968 Dodge Coronet 440 sedan. We bought the car almost 3 years ago. We put a brand new oil pump in it, replaced oil pan gasket and valve cover gaskets. We drove the car a little and that was it. It will start/move on its own but will need some more work. The carburetor needs a manual choke or rebuilt/replaced. It works but is difficult to start when cold. There is rust in the rear quarters but not bad. The trunk lid has some, the filler panel between rear window and truck has some. The trunk floor isn't that bad and can be fixed. The floors need patched. The front fenders are nice except the passenger side has a few dents, mainly on the front leading edge. The bumpers are decent for age. The car is an original radio delete car. The interior needs redone as the seats are worn/torn and the dash pad is cracked. The headliner is ok. It was originally a white car with green interior but is now a tan/dark white. It is not a show car but could be a nice driver or parts car. The wheels in the pictures will not be on the car. It will have plain steel wheels on it. It is missing one front parking lamp. There is a spare grill in the trunk. We have a clear Ohio title. Pickup of the car is buyers responsibility. We will NOT ship it. It is located near Kenton Ohio 43326. It will need trailered due to sitting awhile. The exhaust is single and is ok but should probably be replaced. Even though it sounds like it needs a bunch of work, for an original 1968 it isn't that bad. We spent some time and cleaned it up real well when we bought it and it doesn't look bad. Just needs someone who has the time/money to do a few things to it and make it a nice driver car. These are getting hard to find anymore.

2015 Dodge Charger Pursuit prepares to keep Hellcats in line
Wed, 13 Aug 2014Earlier today, Dodge pulled the wraps off its 2015 Charger SRT Hellcat - a 707-horsepower sedan capable of sprinting to 60 miles per hour in 3.7 seconds and reaching a top speed of 204 mph. Naturally, the car debuted in a bright shade of pull-me-over red, so it was fitting, then, that Dodge also brought its newly updated 2015 Charger Pursuit to keep everything under control.
No, cops won't be able to spec their Charger cruisers with the 707-hp Hellcat engine (oh man, imagine the chase scenes...), but law enforcement officials will be able to choose from either a 3.6-liter V6 or 5.7-liter Hemi V8, producing 292 hp and 370 hp, respectively. V8 models can be ordered with all-wheel drive, and Dodge estimates that with either engine, the Charger Pursuit can achieve up to 26 miles per gallon on the highway (thanks to the V8's four-cylinder mode).
Other updates for 2015 include improved braking power, a seven-inch display in the instrument cluster, a five-inch display in the center stack, and a new vehicle systems interface that could make it easier for police squads to install computer and radio equipment.
Chrysler recalling 2009-2010 Ram 1500, Dodge Dakota pickups over axle pinion nut
Mon, 08 Oct 2012Chrysler is issuing a recall for the 2009 and 2010 Ram 1500 and Dodge Dakota pickup trucks due to improper installation of the rear axle pinion nut. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a total of 44,300 trucks are affected by the recall, and there have been 12 confirmed incidents including one crash.
The issue on both trucks is that the pinion nut is loosening on some trucks due to a lack of thread adhesive, and it is causing the rear axle to lock up resulting in loss of vehicle control. NHTSA's recall notice says that eight incidents occurred at speeds over 35 miles per hour and most also exhibited driveshaft failures as well since the loss of the pinion nut would cause the gear to separate from the driveshaft. In one complaint, the driveshaft separated from the rear axle and punctured the gas tank.
Chrysler will begin sending out recall notices to affected owners in November, but scroll down to see the official NHTSA notice.
How Dodge dealers are earning the right to sell Hellcats
Wed, 10 Sep 2014We all hate the idea of the dreaded dealer markup when it comes to buying a highly anticipated new car. Take the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, for example. You might spend hours reading about its supercharged V8 and speccing the model just right in the configurator, but when it finally comes down to laying down the cash, the dealer adds thousands of dollars as a "market adjustment" on the muscle machine of your dreams. As it turns out, when the Hellcat starts hitting showrooms in the third quarter, Dodge is trying to make sure that's not the case.
Dealer orders for the much-hyped Hellcat recently started, but Dodge boss Tim Kuniskis has put some special caveats in place to ensure that the Hellcat makes it to the road quickly. The initial allocation is based on the number of Dodge products that a showroom has sold in the last 180 days, and a second allotment in December is based on the last 90 days of sales and 30-day turnover. "You sell a lot of Darts for me, Journeys for me, Durangos for me, I'm going to give you the rights to this one, too, because this is a halo of the brand," said Kuniskis to Automotive News.
Furthermore, how quickly the Hellcat sells is also going to decide whether showrooms get more of them. "If you want to market-adjust the car, that's your right. But if your days-on-lot goes above what the other guys that are selling them at MSRP is, they will end up earning the allocation because their days-on-lot will be lower," he said to Automotive News. Obviously, this doesn't prevent dealers from marking up the Challenger SRT, but the strategy certainly discourages it.
