1968 Dodge Coronet. Started life as a fleet car, 225 slant 6 with a 3 speed on the column. Manual steering and brakes. Radio delete. I still have the original motor and trans (engine seized). The car still has the clutch pedal in it. This car had been sitting for at least 20 years before I got it. I always wanted a post 68 Coronet, but I have other projects now so life must move on.

Since I have done so much to this car, I will probably forget somethings but I will do my best. I started by pulling the /6 and K-member out. Replace K-member with V8. All new front end (upper and lower control arm bushings, ball joints, tie rods, pitman, idler, strut rod bushings. Drums turned, new shoes, wheel cylinders, rubber lines, hardware and adjusters. Grease it all, back together. New master cylinder. 8.75 rear, 3.23 sure-grip, new axle seals, new wheel cylinders, shoes, drums turned, hardware and adjusters. All 4 new shocks. New gas tank and sender (sender does not read the most accurate, but gauge does work) New 3/8ths line from tank to pump. New aluminium radiator, water pump, trans cooler. All new drive line with big 1350 solid Spicer u-joints. New steering column. I think that about covers it for chassis.

1974 cast crank 440 out of a motor home. No idea on mileage. The motor was rebuilt at some time, guessing not long before I got it. I changed heads to 516 closed chambers with a 1.74 exhaust valve. Double roller timing chain. Cam is a 335 HP 383 Mopar "purple shaft" cam. .450/.458 lift (tiny, I know). Torker intake. Heddman headers with a 3 inch Hooker Aerochamber exhaust. Engine has 75 psi oil pressure when cold, 45 psi warm. Cranking compression is 124-128psi. Good solid motor. Has a Moroso deep sump pan that has seen better days. Trans is a fully rebuilt 727 with a full manual forward pattern valve body. Deep trans pan with drain plug.

Body of the car is rough. Needs body work on every panel. The way it sits now it has NO bondo at all in it. I sanded the car all the way to bare metal and shot over it in a sealer primer. If you want some more detailed photos, I will try and get all of the major stuff and e-mail it to you. I would recommend doing rear quarters but you can probably just patch. Needs a trunk floor. All frame and floor boards are 100% rock solid. All glass is there. New windshield. New heater core. All lights and dash lights work. Factory temp gauge does not work. Speedo has new cable and works great. All interior is shot. I do have the back seat. I do have the dash surround and glove box door and ash tray. I do NOT have the radio delete plate. I have the window moldings and chrome trim. I have a Coronet 500 grill and bezels. I have all the marker lights and the "CORONET" and "DODGE" lettering for the quarters and tail section. I do have a rear bumper, but it is pretty much junk.

That is about all I can think of right now. I have all the reciepts for everything I have done and bought. If you have questions feel free to ask. I am not desperate to sell this car. I will not reveal the reserve. Buyer is responsible for shipping. Car would drive cross country if you didn't mind it loud and drafty :)

Once again, ask all the questions you want.

Fort Worth Police investigating officer for using pepper spray on bikers

Tue, Mar 15 2016

A Fort Worth Police officer was placed on administrative duties after video surfaced showing him allegedly spraying pepper spray at a group of passing motorcyclists during a traffic stop over the weekend. An officer with the FWPD pulled over one of the group's chase vehicles, a red Dodge Ram, that was escorting riders in case of a crash or mechanical troubles. The video, shot from one of the motorcyclists' helmet cams, caught the FWPD officer exiting his vehicle and, before approaching the truck, spraying something into traffic at the group of riders. WFAA News 8 spoke with the men responsible for the video, Jack Kinney and Chase Stone, via Skype from Longview, TX, on March 13. "It's the last thing I would expect to see," Kinney told the station. "His intent was to hit the bikers for sure, there's no doubt about it," said Stone. "His intent was to send somebody down, if not to cause a major accident with that spray". As the video went viral, receiving more than 200,000 views in 15 hours, people shared videos showing the group of motorcyclists riding in an irresponsible manner through traffic right before the alleged pepper spray incident. Fort Worth Police say they received numerous calls about the pack of riders from motorists on surrounding highways, with complaints ranging from weaving in and out of lanes to popping wheelies through traffic at high speed. News 8 asked Kinney and Stone if it was possible that the officer felt threatened. "If you're worried about safety, why would you pepper spray a large group of bikers like that?" asked Kinney. The Dallas Morning News identified the officer as W. Figueroa. Worth Police released an official statement about the incident late on the afternoon of March 13. They stated that the officer in question, a six-year FWPD veteran, had been relieved of his patrol duties and placed on desk duty pending the investigation. FWPD Corporal Tracey Knight also made a statement indicating that pepper-spraying drivers in oncoming traffic is not a department-sanctioned tactic. 2015 Dodge Viper price drops $15k for 2015

Mon, 08 Sep 2014

We recently saw updated specs and new trims of the 2015 Viper, but it looks like the folks at Dodge were saving the biggest surprise for last. Prices on all levels of the American sports car are seeing an immediate, across-the-board price cut of $15,000; even 2014 models still remaining on dealer lots.
The new MSRP for the 2015 Viper in its base SRT trim now starts at $84,995, and when the TA and GTS come to the lineup later next year, they start at $100,995 and $107,995, respectively. The move seems like a swing for the fences that might help to quell slow sales.
Obviously, current Viper owners might be somewhat peeved that their investment was just re-priced by the company. However, to assuage some of their concerns, Dodge is giving all fifth-gen owners a certificate worth $15,000 towards the purchase of a new one, which comes in addition to the price reduction.

Dodge Viper returning to Le Mans this year?

Mon, Jan 5 2015

If you were among the fans disappointed by Chrysler's recent decision to end the Dodge Viper's racing program, we may have some good news for you, as the racing outfit behind the campaign is reportedly working to bring the American supercars back to Le Mans this year. That racing outfit is Riley Technologies, a constructor perhaps best known for its Daytona Prototypes, but it has also prepared its share of GT racers, too. Chrysler charged Riley with leading its racing program for the new Viper GTS-R, campaigned it in the United SportsCar Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Auburn Hills made the unfortunate decision back in March to pull its Vipers out of Le Mans, and then in October to withdraw from the US series, as well, thereby effectively ending the program altogether. Disappointed though it surely was, Riley remains defiant. The North Carolina-based company is planning on taking the existing Vipers back to Le Mans on its own, with or without factory support. The Viper has, after all, proven a capable machine, having taken both the drivers' and teams' titles in the United SportsCar Championship this past season. "With Le Mans, every driver and every manufacturer needs to have their first trip there, and it isn't always what you want it to be, but we did show reliability and did have some pace," Bill Riley told Racer.com. "Since then, we've worked hard on the cars, they're now strong, front-running cars in the US, and we're working with the ACO on the BoP to make sure the cars are strong at Le Mans. They're super-reliable and fast, and we'd expect to be right in the mix with the other cars." Riley has kept the existing support staff in place, and once it secures its driver lineup and sponsors, chances look good that it could represent America well at Le Mans this year in either the GTE Pro or GTE Am class. Its predecessor did, after all, complete a three-year winning streak that saw it dominate the GTS class right up until its withdrawal in 2000.
