1966 Dodge Coronet 440 Hardtop 2-door 7.2l on 2040-cars
Leesburg, Virginia, United States
This was originally a 383 car and is a real 500 with the bucket seats and center console and floor shifter. It still had the original Certi-Card under the hood from the factory and a lot of original parts still on the car. The car was sold to the 2nd owner and the motor was removed back in the early 80's and replaced with a 426 Hemi and used for street racing for a few years and then a 1970 440 which is the motor in it now was installed in the late 80's, the motor was rebuilt in the early 90's and then sold to the guy I bought it from who drove it on weekends and he put the aluminum heads. aluminum intake and new carb on it. When I got it the car had still not been tuned after the install, it would start perfectly and idle fine and drive fine until you stepped down on it and it would back fire thru the intake and hesitate so I messed with it a bit and moved the vac advance to the other side of the carb and got it to run better but harder to start and idle so I purchased new jet and metering rods but never installed them, I got busy and never had time to mess with it and not winter is here I cant do anything until spring and some things have changed in my life that force me to sell it now. I'm not going to give the car away but my reserve is less than I have in the car and a fair price for now and low price compared to Spring prices. It does have handicap driving hand controls in it so if you are handicap you can drive it but it has standard brakes and standard steering and it is a BEAR to drive with one hand and try to turn while starting out or turning around. if you do not need them I will take them out. Notice please!!! I do have a loan on this car at a well known Credit Union and I will draw up a complete Bill Of Sale detailing all parts of the transaction once I can verify funds I will let the car go and when I receive the title I will sign and copy then send a copy and mail the original. I have sold cars and bought cars like this without any issues and will give you contact information from the lender as well. Drivetrain: 440 motor with Edelbrock alum heads, Edelbrock Alum intake, Edelbrock 650 4brl carb, HD 727 rebuilt trans with shift kit and TCI 10" Street Fighter Converter, 3.55 posi rear, Issues: Wipers not working , heater not working, drivers seat foam pieces coming out on floor may need new foam, passenger seat has a small tear, air cleaner is cut out on the bottom to fit over the throttle linkage I purchased a new one but it hit the hood and would not close so it needs a low profile air cleaner, few scratches, small bubbling area in low quarters, |

McLaren, Koenigsegg, Toyota, Ford, Dodge and Corvette Lego kits announced for 2021
Tue, May 4 2021Lego has announced a slew of car-themed sets for 2021. The six kits comprise nine vehicles and fall under the brick pusher's Speed Champion line of official OEM-licensed kits. News of their arrival comes from German toy retailer JB Spielwaren's pre-order listings, which show three single-car sets and three dual-car sets of matched marques. Starting with the McLaren Elva roadster, the kit consists of 263 pieces and is finished in blue. It seems to have a difficult time capturing the curves of the real-life Elva, but there's only so much you can do with a bunch of plastic blocks. Lego has made several other McLaren kits before, including the Senna, 720S, and a more advanced Senna GTR for the Technics line. Next up is the Koenigsegg Jesko, made up of 280 pieces and finished in white. Though the real-life Jesko is still curvy, this kit does a better job of replicating its aggressive maw, vents and cantilevered rear wing. Rounding out the single-car sets is the 299-piece Toyota GR Supra in yellow. This marks the first time Toyota has lent their license to Lego. Again, it struggles a bit to represent the curvy Supra, relying on printed details like logos and headlights to identify. On the other hand, the Chevrolet two-car does a stupendous job with the 1968 Corvette. The C3 is instantly recognizable as such. The C8-R race car it's paired with suffers from the same issues as some of the previous cars, though. The set contains 512 pieces, and funnily enough the C8 driver has short hair while the C3 driver sports a period-correct wavy mane. The next set is a 627-piece Mopar-themed pair, including a purple (Plum Crazy?) 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A and an SRT top fuel dragster. The race car is spot on, but the Challenger was probably tough to make given the width restrictions. It looks a couple of pegs too narrow compared to the wide proportions of the real deal. Last but not least, the Ford set contains a Bronco R and Ford GT Heritage Edition. Consisting of 660 pieces, the set does an excellent job of representing both cars. The GT looks faithful in its Gulf livery, and the Bronco R looks more like a real Bronco than the actual Bronco R race truck. All in all, it's always fun to see more Lego sets with real cars, and we're glad to see more manufacturers added to the roster. The single-car sets are recommended for ages 7 and up, while the double-car sets have an 8 years and up rating. Price in U.S.
Dodge Challenger Scat Pack adds power and noise, with a warranty
Thu, 17 Apr 2014If you want to go fast, there's certainly nothing wrong with the Dodge Challenger SRT8. With 470 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque for 2014, there's certainly not much to complain about. But what if you want something more aftermarket in flavor? There's no shortage of options, but while turning to the tuner world will make your car plenty fast, that extra power won't just shred rear tires, it'll torch your warranty, as well. That's where Dodge's Scat Pack comes in.
With three stages of mods for both the 5.7 and 6.4-liter Hemi V8s Challenger (as well as the 5.7-liter Charger and, soon, the four-pot Dart), the Scat Pack cars give drivers all the power, aggression and noise of a heavily modded aftermarket car while maintaining the piece of mind provided by the Dodge warranty.
Power gets bumped up to 485 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque with the 6.4-liter Scat Pack, while the 5.7-liter can provide up to 58 hp and 47 lb-ft of torque to add to the stock engine's 375 horsepower and 410 pound-feet. It's the latter engine that can really get some work done, with upgrades ranging from the mundane - intake and exhaust - to the racy, like the ported heads and high-flow headers.
Has Dodge stepped in it again with Scat Pack lawsuit?
Mon, 20 Oct 2014Lawsuits are an unfortunate part of doing business in just about any industry, so the latest complaint filed by a California-based aftermarket firm against Chrysler would seem to be nothing more than business as usual. But this isn't the first time the two companies have sparred over this particular issue.
According to a report from Automotive News, the dispute revolves around the Scat Pack name that Chrysler first offered on the Charger, Coronet, Dart and Super Bee starting in 1968. Scat Enterprises, a manufacturer of crankshafts and other components for Dodges and other vehicles, sued Chrysler for using its name. A few years later the Scat Pack disappeared from the Dodge catalog.
Fast forward to August 2013 when Chrysler applied to register the Scat Pack name anew. The US Patent and Trademark Office turned down Chrysler's application, but the automaker proceeded anyway, unveiling new Scat Packs for the Challenger, Charger and Dart at last year's SEMA show.
