I am selling my 1965 Dodge Coronet. I bought this car in 2005 from my uncle.  He bought the car in 1986 from the original owner and restored it. The car was an original 318 car. I stroked a 440 in 2006, this is the current motor in the car.  This car was professionally painted in 1988, but is still in great shape.  The paint has a few blemishes, but very few. This is one of the straightest 1965 models you will see regardless of the make.  The car has it's own garage and is always garaged. The interior in this car is all original with the exception of the seat covers - they were reupholstered in 2006. The only reason for reupholstery was due to the seams coming apart on the round edges of the front seats. The dash, carpet, headliner and all the chrome is original and from this car. I have listed some details about the car below along with some of the work I have done to it since I have owned the car.

  • Front end bushing, shocks and new brake cylinders
  • Stroked 440
  •  TCI Transmission is a Super Street Fighter reverse valve body, manual shift
  • 3000 TCI Stall
  • Be Cool radiator with dual electric fans
  • Edelbrock aluminum heads (performer, RPM, 88cc
  • Elelbrock performer intake
  • Crane hydraulic cam 545 lift
  • Edelbrock carb, Performer 800 CFM
  • Tri Y shortie headers
  • Torquer II 15" Wheels
  • Front and back bumper re-chromed in 2005
  • X pipe with Flowmaster mufflers 3" exhaust from rear axle back
  • New pumpkin head in 2006 489 casing (3.73 Posi)
  • I have all the documentation and receipts for all the work
  • Wiring is original
  • Battery is now in the trunk of the car
  • I have fuel kit with pump, mounting assemblies, braided hoses that comes with the car
  • Breaks are original, drum all 4 wheels
I took this car to Monster Mopar Weekend in 2006. I ran a 12.6 quarter mile, with BF Goodrich drag radials on pump gas. This has been my baby since 1988. My uncle let me drive this car to senior prom in 1988. This car is fun and anyone that is breathing will turn their head. It is a beautiful car that runs and drives well and is very fast. I have a YouTube video if you would like to view and listen to the car, search for : 1965 Dodge Coronet JMB.

I reserve the right to end this auction at anytime. I do have the car for sale locally here in Keller, Texas. I require $1,000 payment within 48 hours of purchase of the car.

Thank You for looking and happy bidding

Killing the Dart and 200 might lower FCA's fuel economy burden

Tue, Feb 9 2016

Killing the Dodge Dart and Chrysler 200 could allow FCA US to take advantage of an intriguing quirk in the next decade's fuel economy regulations. By increasing its ratio of trucks versus cars, the automaker might not need to worry so much about hitting the more stringent efficiency rules. At first thought, it might seem harder for an automaker with a ton of trucks to meet the government's mandated 54.5 mile per gallon corporate average fuel economy for 2025. However, every company doesn't need to hit that lofty figure, according to The Detroit Free Press. The exact target varies by the product mix between trucks and cars. "While passenger car and light truck categories have separate CAFE targets, it's still true that more trucks versus cars in a company lineup means a lower combined CAFE target," Brandon Schoettle, Project Manager Sustainable Worldwide Transportation at the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute, told Autoblog. "While passenger car and light truck categories have separate CAFE targets, it's still true that more trucks versus cars in a company lineup means a lower combined CAFE target." FCA US' current product blend has 80 percent pickups and CUVs, which means the company stands to benefit from a lower fuel economy target. It might not seem entirely fair environmentally, but this is a great move from a business perspective. The new CAFE rules aren't set in stone, according to The Detroit Free Press, but potentially taking advantage of the regulation is just one more reason to cut the Dart and 200. Modern crossovers also aren't gas guzzlers like older SUVs, which could make it easier to hit the fuel economy target. "Utilities offer practicality and versatility that cars do not, and now, built on car architectures, they do not penalize consumers on fuel economy as they once did," AutoTrader Senior Analyst Michelle Krebs told Autoblog. Schoettle warns that FCA is still making a gamble by killing the small sedans. "Depending on the previous sales volumes and how much these vehicles might have exceeded their specific CAFE targets, it's possible that these cars helped earn CAFE credits for FCA that they could bank for future use," he said. Dodge Charger Hellcat and Tesla Model S P85D in Motor Trend Head 2 Head battle

Thu, Apr 30 2015

One has James Bond Mode, Insane Mode, Creep Mode, and, yes, Insane Creep Mode. The other has 707 horsepower and is a heck of a lot cheaper. But which one is the bigger American badass? We figure most people already have strong opinions on the Dodge Charger Hellcat and Tesla Model S P85D, and they aren't likely to be swayed too far in the opposite direction by another person's viewpoint. Still, we think you'll enjoy watching the video above. In it, Autoblog friend and Motor Trend "Head 2 Head" host Jonny Lieberman summons smoke, shares smiles, and spouts spiels about both cars, finally finding one just slightly more badass than the other. Which ridiculously ludicrous American sedan takes top honors? Watch above to find out. Dodge CEO and Gas Monkey Garage dissect the 10-second Challenger Hellcat

Fri, 11 Jul 2014

So far, whenever we've seen the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT with its 707-horsepower, supercharged Hellcat V8, the muscle car has been smoking its tires. Dodge is finally proving that the SRT can do more than ruin perfectly good sets of rubber, though. In it's latest video, company CEO Tim Kuniskis hands the Hellcat off to the guys from Gas Monkey Garage to show how quickly the automaker's most powerful model can make it down the drag strip.
Of course, the only fitting contender to race against Dodge's latest top muscle car is its grandpa - a Hemi-powered 1971 Challenger, in this case. Before getting to the main event, the hosts also show off some of the SRT's unique features like the blanks in the grille that feed the intercoolers. We'll go ahead and spoil that the Hellcat makes its pass in the 10-second range, and the video admits the tires on the production version would take just a touch longer to cover the quarter-mile. However, you have to watch film to see just how quick it actually goes. Scroll down to see a classic example of American muscle drag racing against its modern legacy.
