First of all, this isn't a show car ...wasn't built to be one. It shows well and draws tons of attention, and has gotten a couple of 'spectator picks', but really isn't a show car. It was built for fun and an occasional trip down the track! This is Grandma's grocery getter on steriods! Having said that, I'll get on to the real stuff!

The engine is a Mopar 400 C.I. stroked to a 470 C.I. and runs on 93 octane. It was originally a poly 318, automatic shift on the column, and the shifter is still on the column. Here are the engine specifications: 3.90 steel crank, Eagle rods, JE flat top pistons and has 10.7-1 compression. Cam is Straightline Performance solid lifter 255/264 at .050/.575/.585 112Lsa. Ported Indy SR cylinder heads that flow 317 @ .600 with standard port opening. Ported Victor intake, MSD pro billet, 6AL and HVC coil, Quickfuel double pumper 950 carburetor, aluminum water pump and housing, fluiddamper, aluminum pulleys, Milodon oiling with 1/2" pickup. I have all the dynometer print-outs that show the horsepower stats.

Exhaust is 2" TTI ceramic coated headers, dumping to 3 1/2" X-pipe and 3" tailpipes. Mufflers are Straightline Performance, and Dynomax Bullet resonators near the back to keep the noise down a bit.

Transmission is a Cope Pro Street racing version with a 9 1/2" Dynamic converter. It is manual reverse valve body, so the wife or girlfriend probably won't want to drive it very often! Rear differential is Mopar 8 3/4 with 4.10 gears and clutch Suregrip (742 case).

Wheels are from Specialty Wheel and are 15X8 in the rear and 15X4.5 in the front. Tires are Mickey Thompson Drag radial's 275/60/15's in the rear and the fronts are Mickey Thompson Sportsman's. It has a custom 20 gallon fuel cell hidden in the tire well with a Mallory 140 pump/filter and a return style regulator with all AN Performance braided lines. The original gas tank in the wheel well has been removed. Gas gauge does not work, so you have to be mindful of distance driven.

Front end was rebuilt with PST Suspension kit, and has a Master Power front disc brake kit. Rear springs are ESPO HD's. Front shocks are Competition Engineering 3-way and rear shocks are Mopar Performance 50/50. Also has welded frame connectors from Competition Engineering.

Car weighs 3860 pounds, and has gone a best of 10.98 seconds at 121 MPH with a 1.48 (60 foot time).

So, that's about it for the technical stuff, although I've probably forgotten something, and if I have, I'll add it to the listing later. The car looks absolutely stock from the outside, except for the 3" exhaust pipes and big tires on the rear. Of course, the sound is a giveaway too! This is a WELL BUILT, fast and fun wagon and not thrown together with junk parts from Walmart or a salvage yard.  I have over $16,000 worth of receipts, not including the car or any labor. These receipts will go with the buyer. This isn't a quiet, cushy, comfortable ride, so if that's what you are looking for, this wagon may not be for you!

The interior is all stock and original except for the bottom of the front seat. Original seat material is available from several companies like SMS etc. Steering wheel has no cracks or breaks. Dash pad is perfect. Door panels are super nice. No rust in the floor or trunk pans. No rust in the tailgate or bottoms of the doors. Original AM radio that stopped working last fall.  All windows roll up and down good, and all the glass is good (no fogging). Rear electric window in the tailgate goes up and down smooth. Oil pressure and temperature gauges are located inside the glove box, but the glovebox is still intact and in excellent condition. Digital tachometer is installed in the dash.

The exterior has a few dings, scratches, and surface rust spots, and has had a repaint (original color) sometime in it's past.  It is single stage paint, and still has a nice shine to it. Body is nice and straight. Grille is near perfect. Bumpers have a few little dings, but very nice otherwise.

So, if you want to surprise that kid next to you at the light who has the Honda with the stovepipe welded to his exhaust, and is racing his engine at you, this should do it!  It hasn't been on a drag strip track in years, and is just driven for fun, local shows and cruise-in's now. You'll be hard pressed to find a much better "bang for your buck" than this car, and my reserve price is way less than what it cost to build this car ...I just need to 'thin out the herd'. Take a look at some of the stuff that's out there and the prices they are casking for them, and then come back and take a look at this wagon.

The car is sold "as is, where is", and has no warranty, either expressed or implied. I would encourage you to come look at the car in person (with appointment), or send a representative. I am located about 20 miles south of the Atlanta airport. Please ask questions before you bid.  I will provide my cell number to anyone who is seriously interested or has questions. Cash is preferred method of payment. DO NOT USE PAYPAL EXCEPT FOR DEPOSIT!!  If you pay by personal check, it will have to clear the bank before the car leaves my property. Same goes for a wire transfer to my bank.  If you are out of town/state and a transport comes to pick up the car, I will help load it and put all paperwork inside. I have a clear California title. I am retired and just moved to Georgia from California (that's why the car has California plates), and brought six vehicles with me, so it's time to downsize.

Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R named Road & Track Performance Car of the Year

Mon, Nov 9 2015

With a 526-horsepower, 5.2-liter V8 that roars to 8,250 rpm, it's really hard to consider the 2016 Ford Shelby Mustang GT350R an underdog in any fight. However, the Shelby held the lowest as-tested price and was only middle of the pack in terms of power in Road & Track's 2016 Performance Car of the Year challenge. The 'Stang's numbers clearly didn't tell the whole story about the potent coupe because Ford's muscle car grabbed the title in this year's test. A model needs to be new or significantly updated to be eligible for the honor, and R&T found an impressive slate of eight candidates this year. The challengers included the Bentley Continental GT3-R, Cadillac ATS-V Coupe, Chevrolet Corvette Z06, Dodge Viper ACR, Mercedes-AMG GT S, and Porsche Cayman GT4. The Ferrari 488 GTB was the most expensive of the bunch with an as-tested price of $347,942, which is five times more than the Shelby. Once the group was together, R&T hustled them over curving roads and on the National Corvette Museum Motorsports Park. There was a lot to love about the Shelby, even in this impressive crew. "With a flat-plane crank and Sport Cup 2 tires, the GT350R is a Mustang turned up to 11," editor-in-chief Larry Webster said in the announcement of the results. The GT350R joins some great company. Past winners include the Porsche 911 GT3 last year and the Corvette in 2013. For some fantastic photography and the complete appraisal of these performance machines check out R&T's website for the full story. The article appears in the December/January issue, on newsstands November 17, and on RoadandTrack.com. "With a flat-plane crank and Sport Cup 2 tires, the GT350R is a Mustang turned up to 11," said Larry Webster, editor-in-chief of Road & Track. "Not only does the car have soul and harness so much firepower with such ease, but the real achievement here is that it's so approachable. It's a car you can't help but love." The Mustang Shelby GT350R was the winner by a runaway vote.

Dodge Durango poised for SRT's devilish power-up

Wed, Jan 11 2017

Does the world need a 707-horsepower Dodge Durango Hellcat? It looks like it's a possibility, according to recent spy shots of a suspicious test mule. But it could also be a Durango powered up with the FCA US 6.4-liter V8 that makes 475 hp. Spy shooters report that the mule captured here sounds like the Hellcat-powered Dodge Chargers and Challengers. Hidden design cues like the fascia suggest this Durango has truly devilish power. There's also a bulging hood with an air intake under the camouflage. So it could be a Durango Hellcat. It's also possible Dodge is dropping the 6.4-liter V8 used in the Grand Cherokee SRT under the hood of the Durango. Engine sharing makes sense, since both FCA SUVs are based on the same platform and built at the same factory in Michigan, though the Durango is longer to accommodate a third row. It is also more logical Dodge would add the 475-hp mill to the Durango's lineup first before going all the way to the 6.2-liter 707-hp Hellcat engine. The most powerful current Durango has a 360-hp 5.7-liter Hemi V8. We expect the Durango will get a refresh for 2018. Dodge Journey and Fiat Freemont engine-cover recall affects 350k CUVs

Wed, Jul 22 2015

FCA is recalling 349,731 examples of the 2011-2015 Dodge Journey and Fiat Freemont worldwide to better secure their engine covers. Of these affected vehicles, there are 144,416 in the US, 43,679 in Canada, 46,231 in Mexico, and 115,405 elsewhere. About 10 percent of them are also still at dealers, according to the automaker. Only models with the 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine are affected by this campaign. According to the company, the engine covers on these vehicles can be dislodged, and this can pose a fire risk if the loose part comes in contact with hot exhaust components. Warning signs of this happening include a noise under the hood, burning smell or a light on the instrument panel. The problem was discovered after three incidents on rough roads in Chile, and there was one minor injury there. According to FCA US spokesperson Eric Mayne to Autoblog, there have been eight occurrences of this issue reported in the US, but these were all related to "heat damage." There have been no reported injuries here. To fix the problem, dealers will install new engine-cover retainers on the affected models. These repairs will begin in August. As always for recall repairs, owners won't be charged. Statement: Engine Cover July 22, 2015 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - FCA US LLC is voluntarily recalling an estimated 144,416 crossover utility vehicles (CUVs) in the U.S. to better secure their engine covers. Engine covers in certain vehicles may become dislodged. If they come in contact with exhaust components, it may pose a fire risk. This condition was discovered during an FCA US investigation of three incidents in Chile. In each case, the vehicle had been driven extensively on unpaved or uneven surfaces. The Company is aware of a single related injury, described as minor. Affected are 2011-2015 Dodge Journey and Fiat Freemont CUVs equipped with 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engines. FCA US will install upgraded engine-cover retainers in these vehicles. The remedy will be available when customer notification begins next month; service will be performed free of charge. Vehicles equipped with six-cylinder engines are not affected. Additional Journey and Freemont populations also are subject to this campaign. They comprise an estimated 43,679 vehicles in Canada; 46,231 in Mexico; and 115,405 outside the NAFTA region. Of the 349,731 total vehicles subject to this campaign, approximately 10 percent remain in dealer hands.
