1951 Dodge Coronet Here is a nice 51 Coronet that will make a great project car. Check out my store for more great Unique and Classic Cars. Make sure and check out the Video below. This is a nice clean bodies car that is the perfect car to start your project with. It is all original and just needs someone to put a little TLC into it. The car has the original 3.8L 6cyl. engine. It is a Gyro-Matic. I was told that it turns over and everything spins freely but it is a 6v car and I didn't have a battery at the time so I'm not sure on that. The radiator is missing and a couple other things. This would be a nice one to get the original engine running or pull it out and put something newer and more modern in. The car is a clean California Black Plate car. Make sure to watch the video I do a complete walk around of the car inside and out. The exterior of this car is nice and straight which is what you want. This car does not have much for rust at all mainly surface rust where the paint is gone. It has all of the original parts and I really believe that it could be original paint as well. It hasn't been all hacked up or repaired it's just a clean original car. The roof has a tecture to it and I'm not sure if that was factory or it was done somewhere down the line. The chrome on the front of the car is very nice and has a nice shine to it. The back chrome is a little worse off and peeling as you can see. Has all the original wheel covers which is nice. It will need tires at some point also. Options: Automatic Transmission Gyro-Matic 3.8L 6cyl. The interior is nice on this car and in good condition. I think that is was probably redone at some point. It does show some wear just like any older car but I'm not sure if the seats and such are all original. The front seats are dry and do have some cracking and the back seats are in good condition and don't show a lot of wear. The carpets are in good condition but do have some stains. Overall a nice clean car on the inside that will clean up nicely. This is just a clean classic car that makes a great project car. I took pictures of every detail of this car so you can get the full picture and know exactly what you are getting. If there is any other questions or any other pictures you would like please let us know. Call anytime with questions…. Stellantis invests more than $100 million in California lithium project
Thu, Aug 17 2023Stellantis said it would invest more than $100 million in California's Controlled Thermal Resources, its latest bet on the direct lithium extraction (DLE) sector amid the global hunt for new sources of the electric vehicle battery metal. The investment by the Chrysler and Jeep parent announced on Thursday comes as the green energy transition and U.S. Inflation Reduction Act have fueled concerns that supplies of lithium and other materials may fall short of strong demand forecasts. DLE technologies vary, but each aims to mechanically filter lithium from salty brine deposits and thus avoid the need for open pit mines or large evaporation ponds, the two most common but environmentally challenging ways to extract the battery metal. Stellantis, which has said half of its fleet will be electric by 2030, also agreed to nearly triple the amount of lithium it will buy from Controlled Thermal, boosting a previous order to 65,000 metric tons annually for at least 10 years, starting in 2027. "This is a significant investment and goes a long way toward developing this key project," Controlled Thermal CEO Rod Colwell said in an interview. The company plans to spend more than $1 billion to separate lithium from superhot geothermal brines extracted from beneath California's Salton Sea after flashing steam off those brines to spin turbines that will produce electricity starting next year. That renewable power is expected to cut the amount of carbon emitted during lithium production. Rival Berkshire Hathaway has struggled to produce lithium from the same area given large concentrations of silica in the brine that can form glass when cooled, clogging pipes. Colwell said a $65 million facility recently installed by Controlled Thermal can remove that silica and other unwanted metals. DLE equipment licensed from Koch Industries would then remove the lithium. "We're very happy with the equipment," he said. "We're going to deliver. There's just no doubt about it." Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares called the Controlled Thermal partnership "an important step in our care for our customers and our planet as we work to provide clean, safe and affordable mobility." Both companies declined to provide the specific investment amount. Controlled Thermal aims to obtain final permits by October and start construction of a commercial lithium plant soon thereafter, Colwell said. Goldman Sachs is leading the search for additional debt and equity financing, he added.
121k Dodge Darts being investigated over braking problem
Mon, Jun 22 2015The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating the Dodge Dart due to reports of braking problems. Some 121,000 cars are possibly affected, all from the 2013 model year. According to The Detroit News, NHTSA received 18 complaints about the brake pedal becoming hard to depress on these cars, increasing stopping distance. Drivers reported hearing a "pop noise or an air hissing noise when applying the brake pedal, followed by a hard pedal feel and reduced brake effectiveness," NHTSA told the News. In a particularly terrifying incident, one driver says the Dart's braking system shut down while driving at 50 miles per hour. "I feared for my life. It is one of the scariest things I have ever dealt with," the complaint said, according to The Detroit News. A Fiat-Chrysler spokesperson said the automaker is "fully cooperating" with this investigation.
Toyota, Lexus dominate KBB's Best Resale Value Awards
Tue, 19 Nov 2013Toyota and Lexus stormed the 2014 Kelley Blue Book Best Resale Value Awards, winning a combined 18 categories including best brand and best luxury brand. This marks the third year in a row that both automakers have won the Brand and Luxury Brand resale value awards. In all, Toyota won 11 categories and Lexus won seven.
Honda made a good showing, as well, winning two segments (Accord Plug-In Hybrid and Civic Si) and putting one car on the top-10 Best Resale Value list (CR-V). Chevrolet did even better, winning two segments (with the V6 Camaro and the Corvette) and placing three cars on the top-10-overall list (again, the Camaro and Corvette, plus the Silverado 1500).
The other winners came from Jeep, Dodge, Infiniti, Subaru and Audi. To give you a clearer picture of the Toyota and Lexus domination, their 18 mentions represents more than half of the 34 awards (including the top-10-overall list).
