High-performance 2018 Dodge Durango SRT spied
Fri, Sep 9 2016Dodge is working diligently on revamping its lineup with new and refreshed models, including the high-performance Durango SRT due in 2017. Spy shooters captured a Durango with an aggressive front end that appears to fit the SRT bill, though it could just be a refreshed Durango. This Citadel-badged prototype is nearly identical to the current three-row SUV. The front fascia, which is being held in place by tape and has numerous rough edges, features a massive vent at the bottom and a distinct, three-holed air intake system just below the grille. The grille is also lacking the Durango's cross-like design. The front end appears to have gaping holes on both sides, with the right side being covered up by tin foil. The extra vents could be there for aerodynamic purposes, for cooling purposes, or just a pair of fog lights that Dodge doesn't want people to see. The high-performance SUV is expected to get a full makeover on the outside, which includes sportier wheels, a more aggressive hood, athletic body panels, and some aerodynamic components. The meat of the SUV, the engine, is still a mystery. While the Hellcat brothers feature a 707-horsepower, 6.2-liter supercharged V8, a previous report by Automotive News claims the upcoming Durango SRT will be powered by a 6.4-liter V8 engine. The 475-horsepower motor is currently in the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT. Regardless of what type of engine the Durango will have, it looks like Dodge really is working on a high-performance SUV to enter the continually-growing segment. Detroit Auto Show prankster 'damages' hundreds of thousands of dollars of cars
Thu, Jan 29 2015Obtaining credentials for an auto show is generally a pretty selective process, especially at one of the world's premier shows, like Geneva, Los Angeles or Detroit. That didn't stop online prankster Dennis Roady from getting credentialed for the 2015 North American International Auto Show on behalf of a Russian YouTube channel to cover the show. While he wasn't brought on strictly to cause mischief, Roady couldn't help but have some fun at the expense of the product specialists during the serious business of covering the show. He took to an app called "Dude, Your Car," which allows Apple iPhone users to take snaps of vehicles and then edit them to add some serious, but fake, dents and scratches. Naturally, the pranking session was caught on video, where you can enjoy the sight of poor product specialists freaking out over damage to vehicles ranging from the Mercedes-Maybach S600 to the Audi R8 and a lovely Dodge Challenger. Take a look. News Source: howtoPRANKitup via YouTube, The Detroit News Humor Detroit Auto Show Audi Dodge Mercedes-Benz Coupe Luxury Performance Videos Sedan 2015 Detroit Auto Show prank
2021 L.A. Auto Show roundup | All the reveals, reviews, pictures
Thu, Nov 18 2021The L.A. Auto Show took place this week for the first time since the onset of the pandemic. It was a show packed with news and reveals, which hasn't really been the case with other shows we've seen this year, and Autoblog was on the floor covering every minute of it. Well, Riswick and Stocksdale were, anyway. The rest of us were sitting at home in our sweatpants, but hey, we'll take credit anyway. Let's get to it. Hyundai Seven Concept This is the Hyundai Seven Concept, and it’s meant to act as a preview for an incoming electric SUV for the Ioniq brand. It leans more toward the concept side of the spectrum than a production car, but expect the final SUV to take design cues from the Seven Concept. Kia Concept EV9 The Hyundai Seven counterpart isn't the only big, bold electric SUV at L.A. this year. Kia has its own take, and it's a modernized version of the traditional boxy utility vehicle called the Concept EV9. It also previews one of the next production electric cars for the brand, which should look right at home next to things like the Telluride. 2023 Kia Sportage HEV As promised, the 2023 Kia Sportage HEV has been revealed. The hybrid powertrain makes the compact SUV the most powerful version available, and it goes on sale next year. The engine is a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder paired with a 44-kW electric motor. Total output is 226 horsepower. The company didn't give a torque number, but it should basically be the same as the Sorento HEV that has the same basic powertrain: 258 pound-feet. Those numbers are a healthy step up from the 187 horsepower of the base 2.5-liter engine. 2022 Range Rover If you noticed how extra smooth and suave the new Range Rover looked during its recent reveal, Autoblog's James Riswick got a design tour that revealed some of the technological secrets to its success. "Less is more" is harder to achieve than it looks. Fisker Ocean Fisker has brought the new Ocean EV to the L.A. Auto Show, with a public preview at Manhattan Beach and a presence at the show itself. You can watch the public show reveal above, and see more shots from the show floor below. Fisker says the Ocean will start at $37,499 before incentives. That entry model would be the Sport trim with a single, 275-horsepower motor driving the front wheels and 250 miles of estimated range. It also has a 0-60 time of 6.9 seconds. 2023 Toyota bZ4X This is the 2023 Toyota bZ4X, due to hit U.S.
