Shelby Charger Glhs on 2040-cars

Year:1985 Mileage:141158

Here I have a 1985 Dodge Shelby Charger, with low mileage on motors top end rebuild. Tachometer shows 41158 miles, and I bought the car off my cousin the second owner. He rolled the 2 digit tachometer over and I have put on around 32k miles since freshening up the motor. That puts the car at about 141158 miles. The Shelby was restored back in 2008. The car was sanded, primed, painted, and clear coated. The color isn't original it’s a GM sapphire blue with metallic pearl flakes. I am the third owner and the original title came from Tallahassee Florida. Car is in my name and is a clear Michigan title. In the mid-eighties Carol Shelby moved over to Dodge for a short period of time. In the eighties with gas prices rising he focused on power to weight ratios. This has a 2.2 liter Turbo charged 4 cylinder engine. The head has been taken into a local machine shop for valve replacement, and roller cam upgrade. Serpentine cog belt was replaced with a good-year gator back belt, as well as alternator belt. While the motor was split from the trans a new center-force clutch was installed. The back wheel bearings have been replaced in 2007. She is a five speed fun driving car. I put a new alternator and logic module in the car last year to resolve battery charging issues. The logic module with map sensor sending unit cost me $350 which I bought new from Rock-Auto. Car has lo-pro tires P205-50R-15's with 50% tread on rear and 75% tread on fronts as they are a few years newer. Car has had tune up a few years back, with platinum Bosch plugs, cap, and rotor. I believe this will be a more collectible car in the next 5-10 years with the passing of Carol Shelby.

Payment: Id like a 300 dollar deposit via pay-pal, within 24 Hours. The remainder can be worked out upon calling the number listed below. I am understanding when it comes to shipping hassles, if your an honest straight shooter with me I will try and accommodate your schedule needs. The buyer is responsible for shipping cost and scheduling of pick up, car is sold as is with no warranties, and there are no leans or loans on the vehicle as title is clear. No returns or refunds...

2015 Dodge Charger Pursuit is ready to serve and protect

Fri, 08 Aug 2014

Okay speed freaks, it's time to update your cheat sheet of police headlights, as Dodge has just unveiled the new 2015 Charger sedan's police variant, the Pursuit.
Like previous Charger Pursuits, the 2015 model is based on a modified version of the civilian sedan, featuring the same basic batch of mechanicals and sheetmetal, while adding a number of items specific to the five-oh.
For 2015, cops can select from the same 3.6-ltier V6 and 5.7-liter Hemi V8 available to the civilian population, with former turning out 292 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque and the latter packing 370 ponies and 390 lb-ft. Even loaded down with equipment, Dodge claims the Hemi-powered cop car can hit 60 miles per hour in under six seconds, while both engines are expected return 26 miles per gallon on the highway (thanks to the V8's four-cylinder mode). Rear-wheel drive is standard with both engines, while V8 Pursuits can be fitted with all-wheel drive.

2013 Dodge Charger AWD Sport

Tue, 29 Jan 2013

We won't beat around the bush: The all-wheel-drive Dodge Charger is not a brand new car. This generation launched in 2011, AWD models and all. But for 2013, Chrysler has added an optional sport package to the AWD model, available with both the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 or the sweet, sweet 5.7-liter Hemi V8. The upgrades for this new sport pack are mainly cosmetic; a gloss black grille, new 19-inch alloy wheels and body-colored rear spoiler make up the list of exterior changes. Inside, there are new sport seats and paddle shifters, and the eight-speed automatic transmission has been reflashed for better performance.
But because vehicles like the Dodge Charger mainly stick out in our minds as being rear-drive bruisers, Chrysler wanted to give us the opportunity to test out the LX platform's foul-weather prowess. And perhaps no place more appropriate to test such a system was way up in Michigan's Upper Peninsula in the dead of winter.

How to turn a Dodge airport tug into a trail slayer

Sun, 16 Nov 2014

Sometimes, having a ton of fun requires takes a ton of work. Just nine days before the so-called Ultimate Adventure 2014, the folks behind 4-Wheel & Off-Road had 40 tasks to complete in order to turn the ratty truck pictured above into a machine that could excel on treacherous off-road trails while still being able to handle highway jaunts. Much of process behind the build was chronicled on the latest episode of Dirt Every Day.
The team's vehicle started life as a 1990 Dodge tug truck that spent part of its life hauling around airplanes. The builders hung on to the Cummins six-cylinder diesel, but they tossed out practically everything else for the project, with some seriously heavy-duty replacement parts for the transmission, transfer case, axles and a whole lot more. The process was certainly a ton of work, but the end result looks like a fantastic crawler.
Sure, it might have been easier to bring a truck that was already prepared, but where would the fun in that have been? Stay tuned until the end of the video for a few glimpses of the completed Dodge and peek at some of the punishment it goes through.
