1970 Dodge Charger! Original Big Block AC Car! Original B5 Blue with a white vinyl top and white interior!

We found this Charger while cruising the back roads of Missouri. This Charger has sat in the back of a barn for the better part of nearly three decades. As you will see, it is fairly complete and is also a bit more solid than how you typically find them. Originally this was a 383 car but today, it has a 440 Steel Crank motor sitting within its engine bay. If you're looking for a good investment grade project to build this Winter, you've found it.

The body on this Charger is relatively solid. The quarters, roof, doors, rockers, fenders, hood, deck lid, tail panel, inner wheel housing, and rear floors are all solid. The frame rails are also solid. The driver and passenger side front floors do have some rust but it is not dreadful (see pics). The rear sill panel also has some rust but I would not go to the extent of replacing it. The trunk is gone and I am including a solid, two piece trunk pan with the Charger. Lastly, the rear lower valance (below the bumper) will need replaced. So right off the bat, someone is going to save quite a bit of money when it comes to getting the Charger straight as there is not a lot left to do. The Charger also still retains its original big block K Frame. The front grill is in great shape. It has only one small fin that is cracked and that is all it will need. I do have about 98% of the trim, most of which is in great shape. All of the glass is good aside from one small chip in the windshield. The rear tail lights are in good shape.

The interior within the Charger is fairly complete. The upper door pads are in good shape and the dash pad is in excellent shape. There are no cracks or major blemishes. I do have the correct back seat for the Charger which you will see within the photos located below. The instrument panel and control panel for the heat & AC are all in very good shape.

The 440 Steel Crank motor, I was told was running when it was pulled. I was also told that it was just starting to smoke so the previous owner was in the process of tearing it down to rebuild it. This was well over a decade ago. What you see within the engine bay is all that I have for the Charger.

This Charger has excellent bones to it and as you will see, has already been given a great head start. Now throw in the bonus of being relatively complete, one can rest comfortably knowing that they will be safely invested in to a Pedigree collector vehicle. I do have a clear title for the Charger. I also have the car for sale locally and will end the auction early should it sell prior to the auction ending. Please feel free to call me with any questions or concerns. Have a great day!

Thanks,

Marchionne may stay with FCA until 2020

Mon, Aug 31 2015

We might get to see Sergio Marchionne and his vast array of sweaters in the auto industry for even longer than expected. The FCA CEO suggested last year that he would retire from the automaker when its current five-year plan was complete in 2018. Now, he has tentatively extended that point out to at least 2020. "I can do this for another five years if you push me, right? Beyond that, I ain't gonna do it, and I don't want to," he said to Automotive News. That would give Marchionne a 16-year career at the top from joining Fiat in 2004 to possibly leaving FCA in 2020. Although, take the CEO's statement with a grain of salt because he has made multiple statements about the timing for his retirement. In 2012, Marchionne said he would only remain in charge until 2015, which is, well, now. Those five years might also go quite quickly because Marchionne is a busy guy with the Ferrari IPO, the attempted merger with General Motors, implementing FCA's five-year plan, and many other projects. He's already considering the next CEO, though. "My purpose in life is to find the Kuniskises of the world, the Manleys, the Biglands, the Palmers," Marchionne said to Automotive News, referencing the heads at Dodge, Jeep, FCA North America, and the company's chief financial officer, respectively. "I told them, 'One of you is going to do what I do one day. I don't know who that is, but one of you is going to do it.'" eGarage interviews a couple with 65 Vipers

Thu, 12 Sep 2013

Owning multiple vehicles can be a hassle worth enjoying if you're willing to spend the time and the money required to acquire and maintain them. But when it's hard to make ends meet while underused valuable hunks of metal, plastic and rubber sit happily taking up garage space, journeys into the depths of other people's well-developed automotive obsessions will either bring you and your cars closer together, or compel you to sell them off before you become one of those fanatics. A recent video by eGarage is one of those journeys, and it's not for the faint of heart: D'Ann and Wayne Rauh own 65 Dodge and SRT Vipers in a collection of automobiles that exceeds 100.
We're not sure if the couple has developed heat-resistant calves from stepping over Viper door sills made burning-hot by side-exhaust pipes, but we wouldn't be surprised if they did. We did learn that their obsession with the no-holds-barred sports car started in 2006 with a trip to a dealership to buy just one Viper, which goes to show how innocently car obsessions can start. But the Rauhs seem to be doing just fine - perhaps better - 64 more Vipers later.
Watch the video below for the full story and to see what eGarage claims is the world's largest Viper collection.

Stellantis ready to kill brands and fix U.S. problems, CEO Tavares says

Thu, Jul 25 2024

MILAN — Stellantis is taking steps to fix weak margins and high inventory at its U.S. operations and will not hesitate to axe underperforming brands in its sprawling portfolio, its chief executive Carlos Tavares said on Thursday. The warning for lossmaking brands is a turnaround for Tavares, who has maintained since Stellantis was created in 2021 from the merger of Italian-American automaker Fiat Chrysler and France's PSA that all of its 14 brands including Maserati, Fiat, Peugeot and Jeep have a future. "If they don't make money, we'll shut them down," Carlos Tavares told reporters after the world's No. 4 automaker delivered worse-than-expected first-half results, sending its shares down as much as 10%. "We cannot afford to have brands that do not make money." The automaker now also considers China's Leapmotor as its 15th brand, after it agreed to a broad cooperation with the group. Stellantis does not release figures for individual brands, except for Maserati which reported an 82 million euro adjusted operating loss in the first half. Some analysts say Maserati could possibly be a target for a sale by Stellantis, while other brands such as Lancia or DS might be at risk of being scrapped given their marginal contribution to the group's overall sales. Stellantis' Milan-listed shares were down as much as 12.5% on Thursday, hitting their lowest since August 2023. That brings the loss for the year so far to 22%, making them the worst performer among the major European automakers. Few automotive brands have been killed off since General Motors ditched the unprofitable Saturn and Pontiac during a U.S. government-led bankruptcy in the global financial crisis in 2008. Tavares is under pressure to revive flagging margins and sales and cut inventory in the United States as Stellantis bets on the launch of 20 new models this year which it hopes will boost profitability. Recent poor results from global carmakers have heightened worries about a weakening outlook for sales across major markets such as the U.S., whilst they also juggle an expensive transition to electric vehicles and growing competition from cheaper Chinese rivals. Japan's Nissan Motor saw first-quarter profit almost completely wiped out on Thursday and slashed its annual outlook, as deep discounting in the United States shredded its margins. Tavares said he would be working through the summer with his U.S. team on how to improve performance and cut inventory.
