Up for sale is a 1970 Dodge Charger R/T ladies and gents. The car has an original numbers matching 440 Big Block engine and a numbers matching factory automatic transmission. It has posi-traction as well. I even have the original build sheets. It was purchased from a local elderly couple and i have all restoration receipts and most of the service records. The first owner was a mechanic by trait and took great care of the car. Engine has been rebuilt with hardened seats for unleaded fuel and the transmission was rebuilt at the same time.  Most current owner blasted the body to bare metal and found no damage other than a few door dings. There is no rust anywhere on this car and never was. Car was repainted the original eb5 blue in a ppg paint. It was fully restored. The only metal ever replaced was in the trunk because swimming pool acid had spilled in it. It has been restored to original specifications and looks untouched. Car was beautifully repainted the original EB5 blue in a PPG paint. The interior has been partially restored. The seats were redone, carpet replaced and upper door caps reupholstered. The dash pad was replaced as well. (Note the original, correct floormats that are still with the car). The vinyl top was replaced using the correctly textured vinyl material. The stripe was added. The car sports all of the original Mopar glass. It currently rides on custom Rally wheels sized to fit 295/50/15's and 265/50/15's. (As an alternative to these wheels shown, the originals are available upon request instead).
This is a fantastic and extremely collectible R/T that looks beautiful, performs like new and is in overall fantastic condition!
Payment is due 7 days from auction closing and this is a No Reserve auction, that's right folks high bidder gets this beast! I can ship anywhere in the US and the car is also available for export. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!

Chrysler killing off the 200 Convertible, Dodge Avenger

Sun, 23 Feb 2014

When Chrysler rolled out the first-generation 200 to replace the Sebring range in 2010, it included replacements for both the sedan and the convertible. The Sebring Coupe, however, was left out of the mix. And now that the second-generation Chrysler 200 is descending upon us, Auburn Hills is paring things down even further. But this time, it's the convertible that reportedly isn't making the cut. Shame, too, since the rendering above shows what could have been quite an attractive droptop.
As our compatriots at Edmunds point out, sales of the convertible model accounted for less than five percent of overall Chrysler 200 sales, and at those numbers, the considerable cost of engineering a new drop-top couldn't be justified. With the Toyota Camry Solara and Volkswagen Eos also gone from the market (well, the VW isn't gone quite yet), the discontinuation of the Chrysler 200 Convertible leaves the affordable convertible segment largely to the sportier likes of the Ford Mustang and Chevy Camaro and smaller European offerings like the Mini Cooper and VW Beetle.
The Chrysler 200 Convertible isn't the only derivative being left behind with the new model: so too is the Dodge Avenger. That will leave a glaring hole in the Dodge lineup, with nothing to bridge the gap between the compact Dart and the larger Charger. Whether the Dodge brand has any plans to replace the Avenger with another model, not to be based on the 200, remains to be seen.

Fiat Chrysler to get $105M fine from NHTSA for recall woes

Sun, Jul 26 2015

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is about to send a powerful message to automakers doing business in the United States, assuming reports of an upcoming $105 million fine against Fiat Chrysler Automobiles comes to fruition. In addition to the record-setting monetary fine, according to The Wall Street Journal, FCA will have to accept an independent auditor that will monitor the company's recall and safety processes and will be forced to buy back certain recalled vehicles. In other cases, such as with Jeep Grand Cherokee and Liberty models with gas tanks that could potentially catch fire in certain types of accidents, FCA will offer financial encouragement for owners to get their recall work done or to trade those older vehicles in on new cars, according to the report. FCA could reportedly reduce its fines if it meets certain conditions, though those remain unclear at this time. These actions against FCA are being taken after NHTSA began a probe into the automaker over almost two dozen separate instances where the government claims FCA failed to follow proper procedures for recalls and safety defects. Included in those safety lapses are more than 11 million vehicles currently in customer hands. These penalties and fines are separate from the investigation over security problems with Chrysler's Uconnect system that allowed hackers to obtain remote access into key vehicle systems in 1.4 million vehicles. Dodge Dart getting hatchback variant... sort of

Thu, 25 Apr 2013

In other parts of the world, Fiat builds and sells a version of the Dodge Dart called the Viaggio, and it appears that in addition to the current sedan bodystyle, a new hatchback version of the car is also in the works. Autocar says that the general manager for China's Guangzhou-Fiat joint venture, John Burton, has confirmed that a new Viaggio hatchback will be revealed by the end of this year before it goes on sale in early 2014.
The Viaggio will soon be joined by the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, which in China will be called the Liberty Light, at the Guangzhou-Fiat plant. While the idea of a Dodge Dart hatchback might be enough to enable most of us to forget about the Dodge Caliber, a North American variant doesn't appear to be in the cards. We reached out to Chrysler PR boss Rick Deneau, and he offered a succinct: "No plans at this time."
