1970 - Dodge Charger on 2040-cars
Saint Paul, Minnesota, United States
1970 Dodge Charger black on black RT/SE. This is a real Charger 500 SE, one of only 2887 ever built. The car still retains its exceptional condition original SE leather and woodgrain interior with a new headliner, carpet and rear package tray. The car has the original numbers matching Big Block engine that runs absolutely perfect, numbers matching 727 Torque Flight transmission and rear differential that it left the factory with. This car retains all of its matching body numbers, fender tag and original build sheet. What makes this car super rare and most likely one of one ever built is the factory paint code. The cars build sheet and fender tag are both coded for FC7 plum crazy purple but the car was never painted FC7 as documented by Galen Govier back in May of 1996, it left the factory in the more rarely produced white. Also very rare is the D55 axle code 2:45 gear ratio rear end which makes this Big Block Charger a very nice, relaxing cruiser to drive! The car has been made into the Road and Track model with new RT badging and the Big Block 383 engine has been dressed to look just like the RT's 440 to the average guy. All could be brought back to the build sheet with a paint job and some emblems if the serious collector ever wanted to do so. The car has all new brake lines, hoses, master cylinder and wheel cylinders as well as a new fuel tank, lines and hoses. The car has had a new trunk pan, quarter panels, trunk extensions, wheel houses, rockers, torsion bar crossmember, rear rails and inner and outer rear valance installed to create the beautifully straight and solid jet black car it is today. If you have been looking for a highly collectable Mopar Muscle car or the ultimate Dodge Charger here is your chance.

Fiat/PSA's dominance in small vans hangs up EU's merger approval
Mon, Jun 8 2020BRUSSELS — EU antitrust regulators are concerned about Fiat Chrysler and Peugeot / PSA's combined high market share in small vans and may require concessions to clear their $50 billion merger, people familiar with the matter said. The companies, which are seeking to create the world's fourth biggest carmaker, were told of the European Commission's concerns last week. If Fiat and PSA fail to dispel the European Commission's doubts in the next two days and subsequently decline to offer concessions by Wednesday, the deadline for doing so, the deal would face a four-month-long investigation. The EU competition enforcer, which has set a June 17 deadline for its preliminary review, declined to comment. Fiat was not immediately available for comment while PSA had no immediate comment. Hiving off overlapping businesses, usually a regulatory demand to ensure more competition, could prove tricky for the carmakers because of the technicalities. Fiat and PSA are looking to merge to help offset slowing demand and shoulder the cost of making cleaner vehicles to meet tougher emissions regulations. The deal puts under one roof the Italian carmaker's brands such as Fiat, Jeep, Dodge, Ram, Maserati and the French company's Peugeot, Opel and DS. Chrysler recalling 780k minivans over fire risk
Fri, 09 May 2014Chrysler is recalling 780,000 of its Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans from the 2010 to 2014 model years due to the possibility of circuits overheating, which can lead to a fire. Of the 780,000 total vans being recalled, Chrysler estimates that 644,850 are in the US, 106,980 are in Canada, 8,009 are in Mexico, and 20,638 are in other markets. All of the affected vehicles were built between August 25, 2010 and October 31, 2013.
Chrysler's engineers discovered that beverage spills or exposure to moisture (from rain, snow, car washes, and the like) were linked to circuits shorting in the window switch assembly. Short circuits can overheat, and thus, cause a fire.
Chrysler will contact owners and let them know when they may schedule service, at which point, the window switches will be replaced. In the interim, the automaker says that owners may visit their dealers after May 14 to have the switches disconnected.
Dodge Charger Pursuit nets quickest lap in police car test
Mon, 30 Sep 2013We wouldn't advocate trying to outrun the police, no matter what you're driving and no matter what they are. But if you see a Dodge Charger bearing down on you with blue lights flashing in your rearview mirror, you'd better think twice before attempting to flee, because the Charger Pursuit has once again emerged as the fastest police cruiser out there.
In the latest Police Vehicle Evaluation held by the Michigan State Police at Grattan Raceway, Dodge says its new Charger Pursuit AWD posted a lap time of 1:33.85. That's quicker than any of the other law enforcement vehicles present, but also makes it the quickest all-wheel-drive cruiser available to law-enforcement officials. That may not make it the quickest of all time, but that honor belongs to the rear-drive Dodge Charger Pursuit, which cuts a fraction of a second off its AWD counterpart's time with a 1:33.70. But in regions where the extra traction could come in handy, that's as negligible a difference as we've ever seen.
Of course, the annual PVE sessions held by the Michigan State Police take in to account a wide variety of performance tests, including top speed, acceleration, braking, handling, fuel economy and ergonomics. The MSP has yet to reveal its full findings from its 2014 model year tests, but we'll be sure to bring them to you when they are published.
