Here's how it is:

This auction is for a Custom NASCAR Dodge Daytona Charger done in the Resto-Mod style.

The Car will be street-legal.

Anything is possible-

options can certainly be discussed.

The 1969 Dodge Daytona was the First Car to attain 200mph Lap Speed on a Closed-Course.

Dodge built only 503 of these cars so as to meet current NASCAR homologation rules at the time.

Mopar was working on Turbine engines for the street at the time.

Unfortunately,

these programs never converged.

So,

I am building The Car that they should have built.

Obviously,

Bill France could never have handled the Turbine Concept-

he was afraid of losing control to Detroit as it was and quickly killed off the Wing Cars.

This Car starts with a rust-free 1968 318 Charger.

The Nose is metal and trimmed in the NASCAR style.

The Wing is an AUTHENTIC Daytona Wing with matching authentic supports.

They are reinforced as were the original race cars.

The wheels are period-correct NASCAR wheels with Mickey Thompson high-speed street tires.

The doors will be welded shut&filled unless the customer prefers opening doors.

The rear window is done as Cotton Owens did-

it is flat glass.

The important part of the chassis the ultra-rare "2x2 Drop"-

is done as the Teams did then.

The torsion bars are custom-made and the cage&chassis structure are period correct to that era.

THIS IS AS CLOSE AS YOU CAN GET TO DRIVING A NASCAR RIDE FROM THE GLORY DAYS!

If you want a 426 Hemi(or bigger) that is certainly possible but will be extra.

Jet Turbines are essentially a Jet engine hooked up to a transmission.

Most commonly used in ALL serious helicopters,

they have also been used in numerous other applications,

including boats,ships,trains,trucks,planes,motorcycles,generators,pumps,compressors and....

CARS!

The engine that I have chosen is a Lycoming LTS-101,

the same engine used in Jay Leno's Eco-Jet car.

This one is faster because it is lighter and set to higher RPM's and a taller rear gear ratio.

I was centrally involved with building Jay Leno's Jet Bike

The Lycoming makes more HP and Torque (and turns 9,500rpms on the output shaft!)

than the original race-prepped 426 Hemi's.

It is lighter(243lbs.) and has a Forward/Neutral/Reverse Daytona Marine gearbox.

This motor is multi-fuel and will run Jet A,Kerosene,Diesel,Bio-Diesel,etc.

The control system is very simple and drives like an automatic transmission.

NO radiator or fan!

I can go on to great lengths about the drivetrain and the heritage of this Car but I would prefer to discuss this with serious parties.

I AM SORRY BUT I WILL NOT TELL ANYONE HOW TO BUILD THE 2x2 Drop Chassis.

I will not help build counterfeit cars and pass them off as real.

I build these cars as Resto-Mod street/race cars and they are meant to be driven&raced-

NOT passed off as museum pieces.

There are almost NO NASCAR Wing Cars left.

Right now,

I want to finish and sell this car and produce composite bodies,reproduction aluminum Wings

AND

build a Winston Cup version full-tube chassis of these cars,street-legal,

to be made available with either

Pistons

Turbines.

and the price goes up as she is completed.

The steering wheel for this car is almost 100 years old and is a Vintage Bonneville wheel

that started out in one of Henry's original Model T's.

as long as it is flat black.

custom paint is for trailer queens.

In 1971,

Charlie G. took one of the originals to 243mph at the Chrysler Proving Grounds in Chelsea,MI.

NO Turbo,

NO Supercharger,

NO Nitrous.

Just normally aspirated-

carbureted.

That's STILL Fast!

Dodge to resurrect Scat Pack?

Before social media ever existed, if automotive enthusiasts wanted to be noticed or recognize other fans, they joined a car club. For Dodge muscle car lovers from 1968 through 1971, that group was known as the Scat Pack. Just like the Charger, Challenger and Dart nameplates, it looks like the Scat Pack could be getting a resurrection by Chrysler.
Automotive News is reporting that Chrysler recently renewed its trademark on the Scat Pack name, and while this is in no way a guarantee that the name will return, AN talked to Tim Kuniskis, Dodge President and CEO, who stoked the fire a little more. In the article, Kuniskis said that the name is "a very important part of our history" and added that "we like the whole idea of having a Scat Pack of cars." Scat Pack models were identified by their bumblebee stripes and helmet-wearing bumblebee logo, and the idea of a modern Scat Pack doesn't seem all that outlandish in light of recent vehicles like the Charger SRT Super Bee and the Ram 1500 Rumble Bee Concept.

2015 Dodge Viper GTC available in 25 million no-cost combos with 1 Of 1 bespoke program

What's the one thing no car can have too much of? Here's a hint – it's not power. It's not efficiency, either, or technology, or even safety. It's exclusivity. It's one reason Rolls-Royce has become a legend building absolutely bespoke motor vehicles, and it's the reason Dodge, of all companies, is offering a new GTC trim level for its Viper supercar. Now, you might be asking what's so special and exclusive about a trim level? Well, in the Viper GTC's case, it gives owners access to a catalog of 8,000 shades of paint for the exterior, 24,000 "hand-painted" custom stripe patterns, 10 different wheel options, 16 interior trims and no fewer than six aerodynamic packages. That results in 25 million different configurations for the 645-horsepower snake. Most shockingly, the customization choices come at no additional cost on the GTC model. And it's only the start. Ordering a GTC will enroll customers in a unique VIP program called Viper Concierge, which according to Dodge, "offers an exclusive point of contact throughout the custom Viper build process." In other words, buyers will be given the means to stay right on top of their car's production, through the 140-to-160-hour painting process, which itself will be fully documented with pictures and through a mobile-friendly website, to the actual construction of their GTC. The Concierge process will start with the ordering stage, which will include Dodge sending customers a paint chip showing the owner's custom choosing, which they can confirm or refuse. Shortly thereafter, Dodge will send buyers a 1:18-scale "speed-form" replica in their chosen custom colors, once again to confirm or deny the build. Once the buyer's color and option selection is locked-in, that car becomes a one-of-one Viper for that year Â– no other buyer will be permitted to build a Viper to the same specifications. The concierge service also grants access to the Viper Ambassador Owner's Portal, where orderers can track their car's build process, receive weekly updates and share their excitement with (jealous) friends and family. And once the car is complete, it will be fitted with a custom dash plaque identifying its bespoke provenance Â– the owner can choose to have their name put on the badge, the car's nickname, or whatever they wish (Dodge will also ship each Viper with a second blank plate to include if the original owner sells the car).
