See video on my Youtube page. WWW.Youtube.com/radrodsbycarrero This car could easily roll over the chassis cam at Barrett Jackson. It is that clean under the car. Car will be at Mecum Auto Auctions in the spring. I HAVE A CD OF OVER 300 PICTURES OF THE CAR IN THE RESTORATION, THIS WILL COME WITH THE CAR.
This car was a 2 year build by a shop in a town near me. I seen this car long before it began and during the long process until what you see now. I did not commission the build. I bought the car from the owner of the shop. The car was bought in Florida and brought here where it waited several years until they restored it. I have a copy of the original Florida title. The car was completely disassembled. It was born with a 318 automatic and has a 360 mild cam with a 904 automatic now. The video is a must see! The body was taken down to bare metal including the under carriage. This is all steel with every panel and parts original to the car. No piles of putty hiding anything! Some suspension parts were powder coated and the rest painted. You can see your reflection in just about every part of the bottom of the car. The interior is all new. Drum brakes all 4 corners, no a.c. has power steering. Rear end is stock driver gear, trans is stock no stall converter. Car is built to drive not a race car. Paint shows very well for being 4 years now with very little to no issues in paint from short drives or storing. Doors open and close like a new car. The car's chassis is so clean it can easily ride across Barrett Jackson floor cam. (I hate to drive it) The pictures are current. Bumpers are original to the car and were just polished as was the window trim, clean driver originals. glass etc. If you're looking for a 69 with it's born on date clothes here it is. I won't do the 5 page run down on what's been restored. Look at the pictures, ask anything. Offers will only be considered from ebay members with current proven history in there feedbacks. Will do a buy it now if we agree on a number. If you're local come see it I believe there will be no disappointment. RESERVE IS MUCH LESS THAN THE WHAT'S INVESTED (MUCH!) Car has the original A.M radio. I have no heart to change or cut her up. Only gets oldies station. (I love that)
As far as quirks because every car has them: Headlight doors at times do not raise. I guess it's common with the vacuum setup 69's use. They do go up by hand easily. 550 bucks for power setup but again everything this car was born with is still on her. No heart to change anything. Speedo bounces some. Gas gauge only works when tank is full. (COMMON WITH MOPARS OF THIS YEAR SO I AM TOLD) PLEASE DON'T WAIT TO ASK IF YOU CAN SEE IT ONE HOUR BEFORE THE AUCTION ENDS. PLEASE BE REAL WITH OFFERS YOU COULD NOT FIND A 1969 THIS CLEAN AND MAKE IT LOOK LIKE THIS FOR MY RESERVE. THIS IS NOT MY FIRST RODEO PLEASE NO GAMES. I HAVE A 1968 FIREBIRD PRO STREET THAT I AM LISTING AS WELL.
Much luck to all bidders. God bless us all in life. HAPPY NEW YEAR! Thanks for looking at my auction I hope you enjoyed the car.
On Jan-02-14 at 06:58:59 PST, seller added the following information: SO EVERY ONE IS CLEAR. YES I KNOW IT'S NOT A REAL RT. THE AD DOES NOT SAY IT IS. ALL THE PANELS ARE ORIGINAL TO THE CAR, CHROME, REAR END ETC. MOTOR IS NOT. AND HOPEFULLY THIS HELPS AS WELL, PICTURES ARE CURRENT. CAR IS DONE. THE LAST COUPLE PICTURES JUST SHOWS THE CAR IN DIFFERENT STAGES OF RESTORE. YES THE CAR IS OFFERED LOCAL, REAL CASH IN HAND BUYERS WILL END EARLY. UNLESS MY RESERVE IS MET , AFTER THAT THE AUCTION WILL RUN UNTIL IT'S OVER. THANKS. |

Ron Burgundy calls Durango a 'terrible car,' yet his ads help sales climb by 59% [w/videos]
Fri, 22 Nov 2013Ron Burgundy was put on this planet to do one thing: to read the news. If that ever falls through, though, the womanizing, scotch-drinking anchorman could have a great career just as a Dodge salesman. Bloomberg points out that sales of the 2014 Dodge Durango have rocketed up 59 percent in the first month of Chrysler's funny new ad campaign (which began in early October). But then again, the entire year has been strong for the big SUV, with year-over-year sales increases in the double and even triple digit percentages - including an increase of 117 percent in August.
Of course, the Durango has also received a wealth of new content and a freshened look for 2014 in addition to the Burgundy campaign, and that has to be helping close sales, too. Whether or not the spots themselves are leading to more sales may be a moot point, since they are definitely getting plenty of attention. Almost two months into the marketing tie-up between Dodge and the movie Anchorman 2, Dodge's YouTube videos have received well over seven million views. More than just YouTube shorts and television commercials, the Durango has even received late-night attention, including when Will Ferrell showed up in character as Ron Burgundy on Conan earlier this week.
In the interview, he calls the Durango a "terrible car" that "cracked in half," a joke that probably had Dodge ad execs squirming uncomfortably in their Barcaloungers. Scroll down to watch the Conan interview as well as some of our favorite Burgundy-pitched Durango ads. And there's still plenty of time to "touch" Ron to win a new Durango.
Are supercars becoming less special?
Thu, Sep 3 2015There's little doubt that we are currently enjoying the golden age of automotive performance. Dozens of different models on sale today make over 500 horsepower, and seven boast output in excess of 700 hp. Not long ago, that kind of capability was exclusive to supercars – vehicles whose rarity, performance focus, and requisite expense made them aspirational objects of desire to us mortals. But more than that, supercars have historically offered a unique driving experience, one which was bespoke to a particular model and could not be replicated elsewhere. But in recent years, even the low-volume players have been forced to find the efficiencies and economies of scale that formerly hadn't been a concern for them, and in turn the concept of the supercar as a unique entity unto itself is fading fast. The blame doesn't fall on one particular manufacturer nor a specific production technique. Instead, it's a confluence of different factors that are chipping away at the distinction of these vehicles. It's not all bad news – Lamborghini's platform sharing with Audi for the Gallardo and the R8 yielded a raging bull that was more reliable and easier to live with on a day-to-day basis, and as a result it went on to become the best-selling Lambo in the company's history. But it also came at the cost of some of the Italian's exclusivity when eerily familiar sights and sounds suddenly became available wearing an Audi badge. Even low-volume players have been forced to find economies of scale. Much of this comes out of necessity, of course. Aston Martin's recent deal with Mercedes-AMG points toward German hardware going under the hood and into the cabin of the upcoming DB11, and it's safe to assume that this was not a decision made lightly by the Brits, as the brand has built a reputation for the bespoke craftsmanship of its vehicles. There's little doubt that the DB11 will be a fine automobile, but the move does jeopardize some of the characteristic "specialness" that Astons are known for. Yet the world is certainly better off with new Aston Martins spliced with DNA from Mercedes-AMG rather than no new Astons at all, and the costs of developing cutting-edge drivetrains and user interfaces is a burden that's becoming increasingly difficult for smaller manufacturers to bear. Even Ferrari is poised to make some dramatic changes in the way it designs cars.
Houston road rage incident devolves into all-out brawl
Tue, May 17 2016The video is no longer available. It appears the associated account has been terminated. Chaos erupted on a Houston freeway last weekend when an altercation spiraled out of control and ended up in a battle-royale style brawl in the middle of traffic. According to KTRK, David Dao and his daughter were traveling along FM 1960 on the morning of May 14 when they came upon a white Honda and a blue Ram truck parked in the right lane. The drivers and passengers of the vehicles were engaged in a spirited argument about something that had happened moments before Dao pulled up. Dao parked in his lane to block traffic in an attempt at making sure other drivers didn't hit the people fighting in the right lane, and instructed his daughter to start filming the incident in case they were needed as witnesses. As Dao's daughter filmed, the incident quickly escalated–harsh words were exchanged, a drink was thrown in a woman's face, and then the driver of the Ram kicked in the Honda's grille. "I couldn't believe it. As soon as he kicked the grille, I was like, 'This is going down now," said Dao. "I was thinking this is going to be bad. At that time, I knew because there was physical damage." As soon as the Ram driver kicked the Honda the entire situation went sideways and devolved into a huge brawl, with the people from both vehicles throwing wild punches and grappling with one another. A woman who was a passenger in the Ram attempted to break up the scrum but took a haymaker in the face for her troubles. Eventually, the fight broke up and the people returned to their vehicles which Dao assumed meant that the altercation was over. Apparently though, the Ram driver felt he hadn't made his point, and he reversed at high speed into the Honda, smashing the fascia and buckling the hood. The Ram then sped off westbound on U.S. 290 with the Honda on its tail. According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, the incident was not reported and there is no word what happened to the brawlers after they left the scene.
