Decided to sell the misses 1969 Dodge Charger R/T. 440 (#'s matching) survivor. Stripe delete Air-conditioned power window car that has lived it's life in CA since 1970. She is the 3rd owner. (she bought it in '12, and brought it to NY ) Incredibly solid car and right now is a great driver quality muscle car. As far as I can tell, the heads haven't even been off this motor. Runs great and easily cruises down the interstate at 70! All new front end bushings, shocks all the way around, and all braking components have been replaced. Car stops great with the 4 wheel HD drum brakes due to the fact that the car came equipped with a factory "trailoring" package. Some bubbling on the lower passenger rear quarter, and some rust at the driver's side cowl at the windshield (pics) and that's it for corrosion. Car was shot with undercoating sometime during it's life and is even sprayed on the underside of the hood. Looks kinda "choochy" but the metal has been preserved perfectly! It does have it's dings and scratches but hey, it's 45 years old and is driven. Original sheet metal but you can see that there has been some dent removal on the passenger side rear quarter. For reasons unknown, the previous(or the original) owner, filled the gap between the passenger rear quarter and the trunk spring support with spray foam(pic). (WT....!) Apparently, we were told, that it was the original owner who that "brush" painted the scratches and paint imperfections on the car and he did some poor work. But, on the plus side, the paint matched perfectly and protected the metal.  Bumpers, wheels, shocks, brakes, and suspension bushings were replaced by the previous owner. Radiator and the air conditioning compressor are not original. Seats were recovered at one point too with cloth (I'd guess in the '80's) but tastefully done. Guess they didn't want to sit on black vinyl in the California sun. Front carpet needs to be replaced. I also have the original radio that comes with. Tires are practically new Goodyear Eagles. You can drive this Charger to any and all car shows! Or restore it to original if you'd like. I hate to see her sell it but she wants new. Ugh! I've included a bunch of pictures and I'll get pics of the undercarriage up here as soon as the lift becomes available. I'll also get a pic of the engine stamp plate to verify the numbers for you. I think the car is being listed with a very reasonable reserve. If you don't plan on buying and paying for the car, DO NOT BID. CAR IS ALSO FOR SALE LOCALLY AND I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THIS AUCTION AT ANY TIME, DUE TO SALE. All are invited and encouraged to come inspect before bidding. Thanks for your interest and consideration. I will answer any and all questions as quickly as I can. Car and registration will not be released until all funds are cleared by my bank. Cash is nice :) $500 non-refundable deposit due within 2 days of auctions end. Buyer responsible for all transport costs.

FCA goes all-in on Jeep and Ram brands on cheap gas bet

Wed, Jan 27 2016

It's no surprise that as SUV and truck sales remain strong in the wake of unusually cheap gas, Jeep and Ram sales are taking off. What is a surprise is that FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne thinks that cheap gas will be a "permanent condition," and feels strongly enough about it to change up North American manufacturing plans. Jeep appears to be the biggest beneficiary of the product realignment. In addition to increasing the sales estimates for the brand worldwide upwards to 2 million units a year by 2018, the brand will get a flood of investment for new product and powertrains. Consider the Wrangler Pickup to be part of the salvo, as well as the Grand Wagoneer three-row announced in 2014 as part of the original five-year plan. The Wrangler four-door will get at least two new powertrains, a diesel and mild hybrid version, in its next generation. That mild hybrid powertrain may utilize a 48-volt electrical system like the one that's being developed by Delphi and Bosch – which the suppliers think will be worth a 10 to 15 percent fuel economy gain at a minimum. Down the road, in the 2020s, the Wrangler could adopt a full hybrid system. The diesel powertrain is planned for 2019 or 2020. The Ram 1500 is also pegged to receive a mild hybrid system, again potentially based on 48-volt architecture, sometime after 2020. Lastly, Jeep and Ram will take over some of the production capacity of existing plants. The Sterling Heights, MI, plant that builds the Chrysler 200 will now build the Ram 1500; the Belvidere, IL, facility that produces the Dodge Dart will take over Cherokee output; the big Jeep facility in Toledo, OH, will be used for increased Wrangler demand. In 2015, according to FCA's numbers, car and van demand went down by 10 percent, but SUV demand went up 8 percent and truck demand 2 percent. Considering that these are high-margin vehicles, FCA can't ignore the math. FCA also won't build any new factories to supplement production to meet demand, but instead are reshuffling production priorities. Think of it this way: FCA is gambling on cheap gas being a permanent part of our lives, at least into the 2020s. By doubling down on SUVs and trucks, the company stands to win big, unless a spike in gas prices changes the landscape. FCA isn't talking about a Plan B, so they're all in. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.

2015 Dodge Charger shows off its new look in New York [w/videos]

Thu, 17 Apr 2014

With a new look inspired largely by the Dart compact, the 2015 Dodge Charger made its New York Auto Show debut today. Along with the interior and exterior changes, an eight-speed automatic becomes standard across the range.
What hasn't changed is the choice of engines under the Charger's long hood. A 3.7-liter V6 serves as the base mill, and can be had in both rear- and all-wheel-drive varieties, while the 5.7-liter V8 is an optional item and can be had in rear-drive only. Outputs are also carried over from last year, with 292 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque for the six-pot, while the Hemi V8 delivers 370 hp and 395 lb-ft of torque.
The new exterior treatment is a fairly large departure from the styling tone set by the Charger since its reintroduction to the US market in 2006. The blacked-out, crosshair grille and new headlamps are the biggest changes for 2015, though there are other, less immediately noticeable updates, such as the more rounded "Racetrack" taillamps that, like the front fascia, draw some inspiration from the Dart.

2015 Dodge Charger Pursuit prepares to keep Hellcats in line

Wed, 13 Aug 2014

Earlier today, Dodge pulled the wraps off its 2015 Charger SRT Hellcat - a 707-horsepower sedan capable of sprinting to 60 miles per hour in 3.7 seconds and reaching a top speed of 204 mph. Naturally, the car debuted in a bright shade of pull-me-over red, so it was fitting, then, that Dodge also brought its newly updated 2015 Charger Pursuit to keep everything under control.
No, cops won't be able to spec their Charger cruisers with the 707-hp Hellcat engine (oh man, imagine the chase scenes...), but law enforcement officials will be able to choose from either a 3.6-liter V6 or 5.7-liter Hemi V8, producing 292 hp and 370 hp, respectively. V8 models can be ordered with all-wheel drive, and Dodge estimates that with either engine, the Charger Pursuit can achieve up to 26 miles per gallon on the highway (thanks to the V8's four-cylinder mode).
Other updates for 2015 include improved braking power, a seven-inch display in the instrument cluster, a five-inch display in the center stack, and a new vehicle systems interface that could make it easier for police squads to install computer and radio equipment.
