This 1968 Dodge Charger is an original big block 383 car with Torqueflite 727 auto transmission, original bucket seats with floor shift & console, 8 3/4 rear end, power steering, factory air conditioning, disc brakes, Magnum 500 wheels (14 inch on BFG Radial T/As), and more. Very solid car that can be used as a "daily driver" still has its California black / yellow license plates. Originally a white car with white hardtop (no vinyl), & original gold bucket seat interior. Car still has its original quarter panels & floors, & has never had any major accidents. Trunk floor still has original white paint on it & has only one small spot of rust that needs to be patched. There is no way you would need a new trunk floor for this car. Floor pans are excellent as well with no rust through anywhere. Minor rust as most Chargers have is present at bottom of quarter panels which is an easy fix during the paint restoration that this car deserves. The engine casting # 2468130 on this car appears to be the original for a 383 of this year & the casting date of 8-27-1967 is prior to the vehicle's production date of 9-19-1967. Engine has a performance rebuild & block was decked during this process so top stamped #s are not present. By all accounts this should be the original engine for this car, based on the #s above. Performance rebuild included a slightly larger cam, Hooker headers, Magnaflow mufflers, Pertronix electronic ignition, Edelbrock intake manifold, & carter style 4V carburetor. This car is registered & drives well with good power, good transmission, & good disc brakes. The dash area is by far the best part of this Charger's interior. It is all original & uncut, nice dash pad with no cracks. Dash area bezels & vents are in really nice condition & no one has tried to repaint them. Remainder of interior that includes the soft trim such as headliner, seat covers, carpet, and door panels are very presentable. All in all this a very solid 68 big block Charger with good options. Drive it around now & paint later if you like. Great car to fix up, & will only go up in value. Inspections of vehicle are welcomed & specific questions are encouraged, so you won't be disappointed. Clean title on hand. Winning bidder must submit a non refundable PayPal deposit of $500 within 24 hours of auction's end. Full balance is due within 7 calendar days by bank wire transfer or cash. NO checks of any kind will be accepted. Vehicle and title will not be released without full advance payment. It's the buyer's responsibility to pay for shipping and transportation of the vehicle. I will consider a "Buy It Now" for serious buyers, please contact me at (626) 590-7509 PST from 8 A.M - 10 P.M. I reserve the right to end the auction early because the vehicle is being advertised locally as well. Thank you.

Peugeot's American future looks dead, but Stellantis intends to keep all brands alive
Fri, Feb 12 2021The years-old promise of a Peugeot return in the U.S. is looking bleaker by the second. Peugeot said the French brand would come back to sell cars in the U.S. five years ago, but now that FCA and PSA have transitioned to one Stellantis, that promise is looking a lot shakier. This news comes via a report from Car and Driver. When queried about Peugeot, Carlos Tavares, Stellantic CEO, offered this in response: “For the time being, I don't think that is part of the things that we want to prioritize for the next time window," Tavares said. "I think it's better that we funnel the talent, the capital, and the engineering capability of our Stellantis company to the existing brands to improve what needs to be improved and to accelerate where we need to accelerate, because we already have a very strong presence in this market." Tavares hasnÂ’t ruled it out entirely, but any kind of a Peugeot American renaissance is being pushed onto the backburner. In good news for American brands, though, Tavares expressed great interest in keeping them all. Chrysler was the most worrisome of the bunch, as it only sells the aging 300 sedan and Pacifica minivan variants. Nevertheless, Tavares sees Chrysler as one of the “three historical pillars of Stellantis” and is eager “to give this brand a future.” Specifically, Tavares sees a high-tech future for the once-great American car company. Motor Trend reported on what Tavares spoke about in a call with the media. "It needs to rebound,” Tavares said. “We could think about what could be the next technologies in the automotive industry.” The obvious hint here is electrification and greater autonomy. Chrysler could theoretically become StellantisÂ’ electric showcase brand. ItÂ’s partway there with the Pacifica Hybrid PHEV minivan, but thereÂ’s still a long way to go for it to become the conglomerate's tech pillar. And then thereÂ’s Dodge and its powerful but emissions-heavy lineup. "We have the technology to deliver the torque, dynamics, and acceleration feeling, while also dramatically reducing the emissions," Tavares said. The Hellcat canÂ’t have a window-shattering 6.2-liter supercharged V8 forever, but it looks like Stellantis is at least committed to keeping the performance of DodgeÂ’s current lineup. Related video:
Marchionne says no offers are on the table for Fiat Chrysler
Sun, Sep 3 2017MONZA, Italy (Reuters) - Fiat Chrysler (FCA) has not received any offer for the company nor is the world's seventh-largest carmaker working on any "big deal", Chief Executive Sergio Marchionne said on Saturday. Speaking on the sidelines of the Italian Formula One Grand Prix, Marchionne said the focus remained on executing the company's business plan to 2018. Asked whether FCA had been approached by someone or whether there was an offer on the table, he simply said: "No." The company's share price jumped to record highs last month after reports of interest for the group or some of its brands from China. China's Great Wall Motor Co Ltd openly said it was interested in FCA, but had not held talks or signed a deal with executives at the Italian-American automaker. The stock move was also helped by expectations that the company might separate from some of its units. Marchionne reiterated on Saturday that FCA was working on a plan to "purify" its portfolio and that units, such as the components businesses, would be separated from the group. He hopes to complete that process by the end of 2018. "There are activities within the group that do not belong to a car manufacturer, for example the components businesses. The group needs to be cleared of those things," he told journalists. Asked whether an announcement could come this year, Marchionne said it was up to the board to decide and that it would next meet at the end of September. He said the time was not right for a spin-off of luxury brand Maserati and premium Alfa Romeo and the two brands needed to become self-sustainable entities first and "have the muscle to stand on their feet, make sufficient cash". "The way we see it now, it's almost impossible, if not impossible, to see a spin-off of Alfa Romeo/Maserati, these are two entities that are immature and in a development phase," he said. "It's the wrong moment, we are not in a condition to do it." He said the concept of separating the two brands from FCA's mass market business made sense and did not rule out this happening in future, but not under his tenure, which lasts until April 2019. "If there is an opportunity in future, it would certainly happen after I'm gone. It won't happen while Marchionne is around," he said.
FCA fibbed on sales according to internal report
Mon, Jul 25 2016Following last week's news that Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) is under investigation by the Department of Justice and Securities and Exchange Commission for allegedly fudging sales figures, a new report in Automotive News says an internal investigation at FCA uncovered misreported sales. According to the AN story, 5,000 to 6,000 vehicles from various FCA brands were reported sold by dealers, but no customers existed for those cars. FCA sales chief Reid Bigland has already put a stop to the practice. One potential reason for the practice was to maintain the company's month-to-month sales increase streak, currently at 75 months. In April, FCA added a lengthy disclaimer to its sales announcements: "FCA US reported vehicle sales represent sales of its vehicles to retail and fleet customers, as well as limited deliveries of vehicles to its officers, directors, employees and retirees. Sales from dealers to customers are reported to FCA US by dealers as sales are made on an ongoing basis through a new vehicle delivery reporting system that then compiles the reported data as of the end of each month. "Sales through dealers do not necessarily correspond to reported revenues, which are based on the sale and delivery of vehicles to the dealers. In certain limited circumstances where sales are made directly by FCA US, such sales are reported through its management reporting system." FCA did not provide comment to Automotive News.
