Up for sale is a really nice looking 1966 Dodge Charger fastback sports coupe. This was the first year of the Charger, and was Dodge's entry into the personal luxury/ muscle car market. This has been a Texas car most of its life, and after that was owned by a collector/hobbyist who had a winter home in Florida and summer home in Upstate New York. It has not been driven in winter snow or salt. I believe it has had 2 other family owners before I acquired it. This is an older restoration of a straight Texas car and still shows well. Paint still has a nice shine, chrome and bright work is nice, and original interior still looks great! Very nice and neat under the hood, and undercarriage is very nice, not rusty or scaly.
Under the hood of this Mopar is a built 440 4-barrel that really runs well and sounds awesome! Motor, transmission, and rear end have all been rebuilt. Other mechanical items such as belts, hoses, exhaust etc. have also been replaced or redone. Surprisingly gas mileage is not as bad as one might expect. I have been getting between 13 and 16 MPG when I've been driving around and going to cruise-ins. This car just has gobs of power and is a real blast to drive! Odometer reads 15,000 and change, but is not original. I was told it was re-set to zero when all the work was done. No real idea how many actual miles the car has since new.
In short, this is a fun driver car and cruiser. It is certainly NOT a 100 point show car, but is a great inexpensive way to get into a popular Mopar big block muscle car that won't break the bank! Buy this for less than the price of a new econo-box Kia or Hyundai and have 10 times the fun, and an investment that goes up, instead of down in value! Don't miss this awesome piece of Detroit muscle car history!
Please be aware that this car was most recently registered in New York State. The proof of ownership is a transferrable NY registration, along with a bill of sale. NY does not issue titles for cars 1972 or older.
ABOUT ME: I am a long time (35 years) hobbyist and collector of nice original "Survivor" cars. I collect, trade, and fool with nice original cars from the late 1950s to mid 1980s. I keep a "rotating collection" of 6 to 8 such cars. When new arrivals appear, I will sell some to make room. This is the case here.
Now for the rules: 1. Your bid is a contract! If you are the successful bidder, you are expected to pay! Please have all contingencies handled and your money in place BEFORE you bid! No retractions will be allowed, so be sure BEFORE you bid! Please read and understand this: ASK QUESTIONS AND GET ANSWERS BEFORE YOU BID. 2. An $1500.00 NON REFUNDABLE partial payment is due within 48 hours of end of auction. This can be by bank wire transfer. Pay Pal is NOT acceptable for this. Balance is due within 7 days of auction's conclusion. This can be by bank wire transfer as well, and is probably the safest method. 3. Please note that car is currently at my summer residence. This is in upstate NY, about 1 hour west of Albany, and 1.5 hours east of Syracuse. I am from the Carolinas in the winter months. 4. Vehicle and papers will not leave here until paid in full with cleared funds. If you are paying with ANY kind of check, it must clear MY bank before car or ownership will be released. No exceptions! Please note that with all the fraudulent money orders out there, most banks treat them like personal checks and place a 5 to 7 business day hold on them. Wire transfer is the best method. If you are paying balance on pickup, it must be cash in person. No exceptions. 5. Vehicle is sold strictly as-is at my premisies with no guarantee or warranty of any kind. 6. Transportation is the buyer's responsibility. I will try to reasonably help and accommodate you any way I can, but it still YOUR responsibility. 7. If you cannot pick up immediately, that is fine, it can be left here for a reasonable period. However, it still must be paid for within the 7 days, and you should secure insurance as I cannot be responsible for loss or damage due to circumstances beyond my control or act of God. 8. Please ask and get satisfactory answers to all questions BEFORE YOU BID! Since sold strictly as/is, no warranty or returns, once you bid, you have made a binding contract. 9. Car is advertised locally for sale. If I find a buyer through that venue, I reserve the right to end auction early. Please call me at 704-661-1326 or 518-835-5058 with any further questions about this. due to spotty cell service, call both and leave messages at both if no answer. 10. If you have been an Ebay member for less than a year and/or have less than 10 feedbacks, and/or have less than a 95% rating, you MUST contact me BEFORE you bid. Failure to do this may result in my cancelling your bid and blocking you from bidding on my items. I understand that new members can be great customers, but I must talk to you first. Thanks a lot. I am sorry for all the rules, but it seems that 5% of difficult people spoil it for the 95% who are good. Thanks very much for looking! Again, please feel free to call 704-661-1326 cell or 518-835-5058 with any questions. Leave message if no answer. Best to call both and leave messages at both as reception can be spotty. Thanks for looking! |

Weekly Recap: Things you might not know about the 2015 Dodge Charger and Challenger Hellcats
Sat, 16 Aug 2014If you're an enthusiast, and you don't know that Dodge spawned another Hellcat this week, you really must have been living in cave. The 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat is probably the biggest news for enthusiasts since the reveal of, well the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.
But, there are some things you might not know or might have missed about the new Charger and Challenger Hellcats. For starters, reports that the Hellcat production would be limited to a low volume are not true.
"We have not capped the Hellcat on either the Challenger or the Charger," Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis said.
25,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Durango SUVs recalled over brake feel
Mon, 10 Mar 2014Chrysler has announced that it is recalling over 25,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango SUVs from several markets over concerns about brake feel under hard braking. The affected models are from the 2012 and 2013 model years, although the actual dates of production aren't available. 18,700 are in the US, while 825 are in Canada, 530 are in Mexico and a further 5,200 outside of North America.
According to a statement, Chrysler was informed of the issue by a component supplier for the Ready Alert Braking system, which primes the brakes in anticipation of an emergency stop. A component in the system was restricting the flow of brake fluid too much.
As Chrysler is quick to point out, the way the brakes functioned was in compliance with regulations and there are no reported cases of drivers losing braking power. Instead, the issue rests with what Chrysler calls a pedal feel that "was not consistent with customer expectations." So it would seem Chrysler is being proactive and fixing a problem not because there's a legal issue at work, but simply because it doesn't feel the way the manufacturer wants it to. Well done.
FCA CEO Mike Manley will take undefined new role after PSA merger
Wed, Dec 18 2019MILAN — Fiat Chrysler Chief Executive Mike Manley will remain with the new group set to result from a planned merger with French rival PSA-Peugeot, Chairman John Elkann said on Wednesday. In a letter to Fiat Chrysler (FCA) employees on the day the two companies announced a binding agreement for a $50 billion tie-up to create the world's fourth-largest carmaker, Elkann said he was "delighted" that the combined group would be led by current PSA CEO Carlos Tavares. "And Mike Manley, who has led FCA with huge energy, commitment and success over the past year, will be there alongside him," he said. He did not say what position Manley would hold. Elkann — who will chair the new group — said there was still much to be done to complete the merger. "Over the coming months we must work tirelessly and determinedly to fulfill all the approval requirements needed to finalize the commitment we have signed," he said.
