"1967 Dodge Charger Original" on 2040-cars
Buford, Georgia, United States
You are bidding on a 1967 Dodge Charger that was pulled from a climate control building where it has been sitting for 23yrs. The car was sold new in GA where the owner got sick and asked a friend to keep the car for him since he had to move and did not want it outside. So the friend stored the car for all those years until the owner passed away and left it to him in his will. I purchased the car from him and have done everything to get the car ready for the road again. I serviced the car, installed a new gas tank, went through the brakes, carb and checked everything. It is ready to go......
The car is medium blue metallic with blue interior, it has a 318 automatic with pos rearend. The car has front and rear console, fold down rear seats, wood steering wheel, air conditioning,hideaway-lights and turn signal indicators. The car runs and drives out great and runs like a sewing machine, with no issues. The body on the car is as sound as they come with no rust issues or body damage. The car was painted in the early 80's but all of the jams, trunk and under the hood is original. The bumbers on the car are showing age and if you want a show car would need to be redone. The interior in the car is original except for driver seat has been recovered because it is missing emblem. Carpet is nice but not show quality, thin in some places. The front console at the back is cracked but should be able to fix, looks like someone leaned on and a split it in three places. All of the chrome around the windows, bottom of dash and ac vents are nice and not pitted. The gauge cluster has lost alot of the chrome due to age, seats are good, passenger has a few small spots of signs of splitting, backs are good. The hideaway lights are not working, getting fire to the relays but nothing from there, was told it could be the relays but have not bought new ones to try. The AC works and is cool but would probably need a charge...... The car has magnums on it which he purchased from dealer ship, the tires have good tread but do have some flat spots but the more I drive it the better they are. This is a very nice rust free original car loaded with options would make a great driver or if someone wanted to spend a little money would make a nice show car. The paint is very nice with no issues as far as major scratches or dents. Would not hurt to put a buffer to it to bring a better shine, it is not faded by no means just a single stage paint. Please call with any questions or if you need additional photos, the car is available for viewing or inspection. 615-456-5376 |

Mopar unveils Dodge Challenger Drag Pak [w/video]
Sat, Jun 27 2015Dodge is going drag racing, and it's doing it with an all-new version of the Challenger for NHRA's Sportsman class. FCA's Mopar parts and performance arm announced the new Challenger Drag Pak Friday, showing off a version with a 354-cubic-inch (that's a 5.8-liter, by the way), supercharged V8 and a 426-ci (7.0-liter), naturally aspirated V8 – both Hemis, of course – that can get the big coupes through the quarter-mile in "the eight-second range." While the two engines deliver similar performance, at their base, they're quite a bit different. The supercharged model uses a cast-iron block, while the 426 has aluminum for both the block and head. That said, both models get customized engine calibrations, and are mated to unique, race-spec automatic transmissions. But drag racing is about far more than just outright power. Mopar significantly updated the four-link rear suspension, adding a four-inch rear axle from Strange Engineering, along with an aluminum, nine-inch third member, while the rear-axle housing has been strengthened in general. Both the rear shocks and front struts can be adjusted for rebound and compression, too. Lightweight 15-inch wheels, meanwhile, are shod in super-sticky Hoosier drag radials, with nine inches of tread in back and 4.5 inches in front. The new Challenger Drag Pak should run the quarter-mile in "the eight-second range." In the cabin, there's an NHRA-spec roll cage, a Racepak gauge cluster, and a handsome pair of Sparco racing seats. Outside, supercharged models get blue decals, while naturally aspirated varieties get black stickers, although there's more to the new Challenger dragster's exterior than just its decals. Mopar tweaked the big-scoop hood, promising it's easier to get up to check on the engine, and the designers also added trailer tie-down straps in both the front and rear. While the dragster was the big news today, Mopar officials also announced the two enhanced Scat Pack kits for both the Dodge Charger and Challenger R/T. The 5.7-liter Hemi models gain an extra 56 horsepower and 30 pound-feet of torque in the Scat Pack 2 thanks to a new cam, valve springs, pushrods, and gaskets. The Scat Pack 3, meanwhile, adds 75 hp and 44 lb-ft, on top of the gains from the lower packages. That should be perfect for drivers who wish to snort in the face of their SRT 392-driving friends. The third stage adds a ported cylinder heads, as well as high-flow manifolds and catalysts.

Fri, 24 Oct 2014We all knew That Kid. As a freshman, he was a big kid, overweight but surprisingly strong. Still, he was often picked on for his size. Then, he chatted with the football coach, who convinced him that his true calling was on the team's offensive line. After a season on the freshman squad and a summer of two-a-days, this mild-mannered, husky high schooler returned for his sophomore year as a big, imposing, solid piece of muscle. Needless to say, the same bullies that picked on him were praying he'd forgotten about them as a 10th grader.
That's the V8-powered 2015 Dodge Challenger. It arrived on the scene with a max of 425 horsepower and a bit of a weight problem. It completed its proverbial freshman year with a nice 2011 refresh, where the SRT8 was bumped up to 470 hp, but it still had some work to do.
Enter 2015, and fresh off three months of constant burpees and wind sprints, the newest Challenger is as big and powerful as it's ever been, but it's now got poise and potential, and my goodness, it's fun in a way that Dodge's muscle car has never been.
