2011 Dodge Challenger R/T, 33k miles
I purchased this car new in the fall of 2011, and have owned it since. This car has been my baby, any time it needed maintenance it went to the dealership right away. Always had the oil changed, transmission fluid changed, tires rotated and spark plugs on schedule. Very well taken care of, and always put in the garage when not being used. I'm parting ways with it to make room for new projects, time for someone else to enjoy this car as much as I have. Paint is what Dodge calls Clear Coat Black, 2011 was the only year for a solid black. All other years were metallic. The paint has always been cared for with 3m professional products, and has never been power buffed. Interior has always been kept meticulously clean, and looks like it did when it rolled off the factory floor. The drive train is perfect. The engine makes NO abnormal noises, just great and really gets after it when you put your foot down. The transmission, 6 speed Tremec, shifts flawlessly. The clutch is great in this car, driven by someone with tons of experience in driving standard transmissions. Its equipped with the 3.92 rear end, which has had the fluid changed in it recently. Tires are Hankook Ventus V-12's, fronts are 70% and rears are 80% 33,000 miles since I bought it new, 90% of them are on the hiway. Car has never been drove in the snow or on roads that were salted. Underbody of the car is CLEAN! The car was in a hit-and-run about a year ago, but was fixed by one of the best body men in the state. If you can see where the damage was, I'll buy you a steak dinner! No structural damage was inflicted to the car, purely cosmetic and was completely and professionally repaired. The car does have some aftermarket goodies on it. -Lowered with an eibach pro lowering kit -Front and Rear Petty Motorsports Strut Tower braces -Eibach front control arms -Spohn rear control arms and track bars, to correct rear camber issues involved with lowering -Lots of billet under the hood including BT valve covers and REAL carbon fiber...has nearly 2 grand worth of carbon fiber under the hood. -DEI exhaust cutouts -Pypes Violater exhaust sysytem -SRT front splitter -Petty motorsports rear spoiler -TSW Wheels with Hancook tires -Hurst Shifter with old style pistol grip shifter I have lots of money in extras in this car. Its been shown multiple times and always placed very well. Car sounds MEAN, the hemi just roars through the pypes exhaust...then at a push of a button it SCREAMS through the cutouts. It handles like a racecar, no body roll at all and just HUGS the curves! Its a true joy of a car to drive! Car has some options too. Including... -Super Track Pack -Sirius Radio -Power Seats, windows and locks -keyless 'enter and go' (really cool feature!) Just a great Challenger! Its my baby, but I have to part with her! Reserve price is what the car blue books for, and will be sold at that price or to the highest bidder! Will help with delivery. |

Dodge lets us drive 100-years' worth of history [w/videos]
Thu, 03 Jul 2014
A raft of important production models from the last hundred years were available for me to either drive or ride in.
Dodge is 100 years old this year. So, as happened on Ford's recent centennial, the 50-year birthday of the Porsche 911, and others, the company has an excuse to trot out the highlights of its history next to its upcoming model lineup, and declare that "these are the fruits of the Dodge Boys' tree whose roots have grown strong." Or something like that. Never so hampered by marketing skepticism that I'll pass up the opportunity to burn someone else's rubber, I was happy to drive out to Meadow Brook Hall in Rochester Hills, MI - former grand estate of the Dodge family - to hear the spiel.
2013 Dodge Durango R/T
Tue, 19 Feb 2013Not too long ago, Chevrolet got itself into some trouble by throwing the SS badge on just about everything it produced, so I've always been a little hesitant about the seemingly excessive use of the R/T nameplate on Dodge vehicles. For the 2013 model year, every model in Dodge's lineup has an R/T trim level from Dart all the way up to the Durango. Although the R/T name used to signified models made for road and track, I doubt anyone would be delusional enough to assume the Durango - and some of the other models wearing this badge - are suited for any sort of track duty.
Still, when this 2013 Dodge Durango R/T rolled up for me to drive for the week, I couldn't help but take in its big, mean and imposing stance. Sure, if I had my choice of buying any of the Dodge R/T products, the Charger and Challenger would be my top picks for sure, but it's easy to say that the Durango would be a close third - far above the R/T versions of the Avenger, Journey and Grand Caravan.

SRT reveals Satin Vapor Edition 300, Charger and Challenger SRT models
Fri, 07 Feb 2014With the exception of some notable truck and van introductions, Chrysler brands have tended to use the Chicago Auto Show to bring out new special editions, pimp their aftermarket parts support or indulge in the occasional flight of fancy. That plan is holding true for 2014, as well. Cases in point are these new Satin Vapor Editions of the 2014-model-year Dodge Challenger, Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300 - all from SRT.
The Satin Vapor name may sound like a failed 1970s glam-rock band, or a pseudo-gynecological diagnosis from the Old West, but is, in fact, pretty much a tape-and-trim package for this trio of hi-po Mopars. 300, Challenger and Charger alike come shod with 20-inch aluminum wheels finished in Black Satin Vapor Chrome, and are accented with Satin Black bits aplenty. The 300 gets blacked-out mirrors, spoiler and roof; the Challenger applies it to mirrors and its fuel door; while the Charger has the stuff covering its roof, hood and Super Bee tail graphic.
Interiors of the cars have been mildly updated as well, with all three getting some combination of Nappa leather, ultra-suede and carbon-fiberish finishes.
