Offered by Bob Frederick of Frederick Scat Pack (Google me if you don't know my reputation with Challengers), you are looking at a One-Owner 2010 Plum Crazy Challenger SRT8 Automatic in MINT condition. I just took it on trade on a 2013 Plum SRT8. The owner stored this car in the winter and it shows in its condition. The paint is beautiful and original, The body straight, The interior is mint and she opted for the factory sunroof and SRT Option Group II (Kicker System). It has the factory Carbon Fiber Hood Stripe.

This car is MINT! She installed Stealth Splash Guards(Clip on, NO Drilling or cutting necessary) when new and the sides and bottom of this car are MINT!
I don't put my name on a car unless it's exceptional and this car is EXCEPTIONAL!

In addition, she had the Mopar Chrome T-Handle Shift Lever, Mopar Stainless "Challenger" Door Entry Sills, Mopar "Challenger" Embroidered Floor Mats, Mopar Cold Air Intake, Mopar Front Underhood Strut Brace and Mopar Flat Black Side Stripe all installed at the time of delivery when she was new!! All of the factory items such as the factory carpeted mats, are new in the trunk. The factory air box is as well. She also had Hawk low dust brake pads installed new and the factory pads are in the trunk. On the trunk floor is a nice carpeted SRT trunk mat.

All factory build sheets and documentation is in the trunk as well.

This car is mint inside and out. I didn't even have to detail it, I just wiped off the dust from her ride down.

She has just 19,891 original miles.

The factory Powertrain Warranty still applies for 80,000 more miles or 22 months, whichever comes first!

This is your chance to own a RARE Plum Crazy SRT8 that has been exceptionally well cared for. It will not last long. I have it for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early.

If you need financing, we can arrange it at the dealership for qualified buyers.
If you fly in and drive it home, I will pick you up at the airport. Cleveland Hopkins, Canton-Akron and Pittsburgh airports are all an hour or less from me.

The original F1 Goodyears are on the car. The rears are in excellent shape and have a lot of miles left. The fronts have about 5,000 miles left and the outer edges are worn as you would expect. The car drives perfect and the alignment is spot-on!

The Wheels are mint and I only found one edge of the right front wheel that has a slight little bit of rash on it. About 2-3" long at the extreme edge and you really have to get down and look at it to see it- see photo. The rest are mint.

The seats and carpets are clean and mint.

The chrome around the shift console has some scratches from her bracelets I'm assuming. Of course, this would be an easy replacement if it bothered you.
This car is exceptional.

Feel free to contact me directly with any questions. Bob Frederick- Cell(330)550-5432  stpcharger@zoominternet.net

Thank you!

Certain Chrysler owners eligible for buyback program

Mon, Jul 27 2015

Certain car owners whose Chrysler vehicles contain dangerous defects will soon have a way to get rid of their lemons without losing money. As part of an agreement with federal regulators, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has agreed to buy back more than 500,000 vehicles susceptible to veering out of control without warning at above market-value prices. The deal mainly covers certain models of RAM trucks, the Dodge Dakota pickup and Dodge Durango SUV. Further, owners of more than 1.5 million Jeep Liberty and Grand Cherokees at heightened risk for lethal fires are eligible to trade in their vehicles at above market value or, alternately, get a gift certificate if they prefer to have repairs made. Chrysler has "a heavy responsibility to make sure the products they make are safe for the traveling public," said Mark Rosekind, administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. "... Here, we are sending an unambiguous signal to industry that if you skirt the laws or violate the law, or don't live up to the responsibility that consumers expect, we are going to penalize you." The buy-back and trade-in options for motorists come as part of an unprecedented penalty NHTSA slapped against Chrysler for violating federal motor-vehicle safety laws. Chrysler will pay a $105 million fine, the highest ever levied by the regulatory agency. In addition to the buy-backs, Chrysler also agreed to an independent monitor for three years. Investigators had outlined problems in the company's conduct in 23 recalls that affected more than 11 million defect vehicles. As part of a consent-order agreement, Chrysler acknowledged it did not notify vehicle owners of recalls in an effective manner and did not notify NHTSA of safety problems. Though those recalls affected millions of drivers, the buy-back and trade-in options are only for a small portion of the vehicles involved. Because Chrysler struggled to fix the problem and no repair was apparent, Rosekind said the buy-backs are reserved "for customers who didn't have a remedy." Buy-backs are for trucks and SUVs affected by three recalls that occurred in 2013 (recalls 13V-038, 13V-527 and 13V-529), that addressed a rear-axle pinion nut that could come loose and cause a loss of vehicle control. Those recalls covered 579,228 vehicles, including 2009-2012 Ram 1500, 2500, 3500, 4500 and 5500 trucks, 2009-2012 Dodge Dakotas, 2009 Chrysler Aspen and the 2009 Dodge Durango.

Only in Japan: Dodge van one-make racing series is a thing

Wed, Jul 15 2015

Japan seems willing to embrace a level of automotive insanity that many other places lack. Whether it's 1,200-horsepower Nissan GT-Rs blasting through tight, tree-lined mountain roads or advertisements with dances for the Toyota Prius Plug-in, the country definitely has a unique way of expressing a love for autos. The D-Van Grand Prix might be one of our favorite examples yet of crazy Japanese car culture, because the annual, one-make race at the Ebisu Circuit is exclusively for heavily customized Dodge vans. Like many great things, this wonderfully crazy idea came from a little rule breaking. D-Van Grand Prix organizer Takuro Abe was at a track event for a motorcycle racing school, and vans were used to haul the bikes around. During lunch someone came up with the idea for a race. Ignoring that the big machines weren't actually allowed on the circuit, the drivers headed out. The popularity has just grown since then. These days, the racing vans absolutely aren't the stock machines from the event's inspiration. In addition to stripped interiors and track rubber that you might expect, the list of mods for them is a mile long. For every possible advantage, the racers fit them with things like Brembo brakes, cross-drilled rotors, heavy-duty transmissions, and much more. Seeing vans lumbering around the track is very weird at first, but the racers take the competition very seriously. These folks even employ all sorts of little tricks to coax the most from the machines. This is a fascinating motorsports story, but be sure to turn on the subtitles to understand the interviews with the competitors.

25,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Durango SUVs recalled over brake feel

Mon, 10 Mar 2014

Chrysler has announced that it is recalling over 25,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango SUVs from several markets over concerns about brake feel under hard braking. The affected models are from the 2012 and 2013 model years, although the actual dates of production aren't available. 18,700 are in the US, while 825 are in Canada, 530 are in Mexico and a further 5,200 outside of North America.
According to a statement, Chrysler was informed of the issue by a component supplier for the Ready Alert Braking system, which primes the brakes in anticipation of an emergency stop. A component in the system was restricting the flow of brake fluid too much.
As Chrysler is quick to point out, the way the brakes functioned was in compliance with regulations and there are no reported cases of drivers losing braking power. Instead, the issue rests with what Chrysler calls a pedal feel that "was not consistent with customer expectations." So it would seem Chrysler is being proactive and fixing a problem not because there's a legal issue at work, but simply because it doesn't feel the way the manufacturer wants it to. Well done.
