THATS NO MISTAKE, 2457 MILES, of course the car looks and drives like brand new because it basically is. I bought the car in N.C., they were hard to find then. I trailered it back to Sarasota and have driven it very little since. It has been kept in an air conditioned de-humidified garage since new. It's a 6.1 SRT8 HEMI, 6 speed "Tremac" manual transmission. "brilliant black crystal pearl coat" SRT8 with all the features. Carbon fiber hood stripe. It is sun-roof delete, Beautiful grey/black leather interior, the up-grade stereo with the 10" Kicker Bass in the trunk, 6 disc,/CD/DVD/NAV/MP3 13 Kicker SRT Hi performance speakers, 2 Kicker amps one for the sub-woofer and one for the head unit. To many options to list. I also have the original window stickers, all the tags that came on the car, all the instructions and paperwork, both manuals, one is for the stereo, The car still has the sticker on the windshield that says to put nitrogen in the tires. I have a lot of auto-belia for the car also, calenders, magazines, dealer advertisement pamphlets and more. I am a private owner not a dealer. A lot of paper work. eBay Find of the Day: Viper Defender from '90s TV show
Fri, 24 May 2013As car lovers, it's always hard to find a good television show with decent cars, but what the 1990s show Viper lacked in acting, scripting and plot, it more than made up for with cool cars. For starters, the lead car was a Dodge Viper RT/10, but, on screen, it was able to morph into its "Defender" mode making it an armored coupe with a full arsenal of weapons.
Fortunately, you don't have to be a fan of the bad show to love its lead car, and if you really want one, a Defender is up for auction right now on eBay. According to the listing, this car is the real deal - not a clone - and it comes with a V8 engine (not sure what happened to the V10?) and plenty of swag and memorbilia. No word on its actual asking price, but with a day left and 42 bids already, the reserve has not been met at $133,400. The listing does add that this same car was listed at Mecum back in 2010, but did not get sold, even with a bid of $270,000.
Gauging reaction to the 2015 Dodge Charger Pursuit on Detroit highways
Sat, Feb 7 2015Steven Ewing and I kind of pretended to be cops a few weeks ago. No, not in the illegal way; we just took turns driving the 2015 Dodge Charger Pursuit around Detroit and its suburbs, learning invaluable life lessons along the way. A lot of those lessons came in the form of weird reactions from other drivers. Steve peeved his neighbors by surprising them in the parking lot, I can damn close to sitting in jail next to a murderer and we both caught our fair share of evil-eyed glances. One of my very first observations was a pronounced "bubble effect" when driving in traffic on the highway. Attempting to recreate the effect for the video camera, I grabbed Senior Producer Chris McGraw and we went for a ride in the name of pseudo psychology. The results weren't exactly as we'd predicted, but we had fun all the same. Get one more dose of your cop car fix, above.
Chrysler recalling 31k SUVs and vans
Fri, 06 Jun 2014Chrysler is issuing recalls covering roughly 31,700 vehicles worldwide due to two separate problems. In both cases the company believes that most of the affected vehicles are either still on, or in transit to, dealer lots.
One recall covers roughly 10,700 Dodge Durango, Jeep Cherokee, Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee SRT models from the 2014 model year built between January 16 and April 17, 2014. The SUVs need a software update for the cruise control. It's possible that when the cruise is on and the driver presses on the throttle, the acceleration could last a second after the pedal is released or two seconds for the SRT. Afterward, they return to the speed originally set by the driver.
Chrysler says it isn't aware of any accidents, injuries or even reported incidents of this happening in the real world. Also, in all cases, if the driver presses on the brake, the cruise shuts off. The automaker believes that there are about 6,100 affected SUVs in the US, 950 in Canada, 425 in Mexico and 3,200 outside of North America. The software upgrade will be ready shortly, the company says.
