The Basics,
I have owned this car for 5 years. This 1973 Dodge Challenger has been restored from top to bottom, I have a big
stack of all of the receipts from the build. It has 178 miles on it. I baby this car. It is always garaged. I
don’t drive it in the rain and perform routine maintenance. This Challenger originally came with a 340 and 727
transmission. It was built in Hamtramck MI. There was only 2 other owners before I purchased it and the car has
never had a vinyl top. It has 450 to 500 ft lbs. of torque and 450 to 500 hp. The interior is in great shape no
rips or tears. Rallye hood, bucket seats, console, automatic, power steering, The dash has been refinished with a
genuine leather hand stitched dash. The original dash on this had a dash cover with liquid nails under it. I took
that off sanded it and filled in any cracks sealed it and covered it with genuine leather and hand stitched it. I
removed the torsion bars and replaced the suspension with a Magnum Force Racing suspension and forward strut kit.
It drives nice, is reliable, and has plenty of power and handles great. I’m selling this because of personal
reasons and I have to get something with 4 wheel drive.

2013 Dodge Charger SRT8 Super Bee

Tue, 12 Mar 2013

I can pinpoint the exact moment when I fell in love with this car. It was starting down a nearly straight entrance ramp at 15 miles per hour when I buried the throttle. In a moment, I was thrown back into my seat as the big SRT8's engine came to life with commensurate sound, fury and force, bringing me up to 75 mph in what felt like two blinks of an eye. This thing feels so much quicker than its 470 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque would lead you to believe. And mashing the right pedal never, ever gets old.
But beyond sheer speed, I found a whole lot to like about the Charger SRT8 during my week with the Pitch Black test car here in Detroit. And while the whole Super Bee kit isn't really my style, it's really easy to overlook those badges for a package that offers so much for so little.

Aficionauto drives Vin Diesel's fast and furious 1970 Dodge Charger

Mon, 15 Sep 2014

The Aficionauto host Christopher Rutkowski has a real passion for original and replica cars from movies and television, whether they are from James Bond, Jurassic Park, or incredibly obscure Japanese shows. However, he might have outdone himself this time because he hopped into one of the biggest automotive stars of contemporary cinema. This 1970 Dodge Charger appeared in Fast & Furious and came back in Fast Five, where Paul Walker actually drove it. The menacing, black muscle car will make its return to the franchise in the seventh film, too.
The Fast and Furious Charger is a real beast no matter how you look at it. The interior is nothing more than two seats and a roll cage, and as the video shows, this thing vibrates constantly like a coiled mass of muscle ready to strike. The camera can barely stay in place most of the time. Also, Dom's Dodge is more than happy to do a smoky burnout and leave the driver partially deaf afterward from its wonderful, ear-splitting engine roar.
The Aficionauto also interviews the man who controls the keys to this beast. Bob Hartwig was once an F-15 pilot, but he also loved Hollywood vehicles. Now, he's a partner at Picture Car Warehouse, a company with about 850 cars that supplies vehicles to film studios. This Charger definitely seems to be Hartwig's favorite in the collection, as it should be.

Chrysler killing off the 200 Convertible, Dodge Avenger

Sun, 23 Feb 2014

When Chrysler rolled out the first-generation 200 to replace the Sebring range in 2010, it included replacements for both the sedan and the convertible. The Sebring Coupe, however, was left out of the mix. And now that the second-generation Chrysler 200 is descending upon us, Auburn Hills is paring things down even further. But this time, it's the convertible that reportedly isn't making the cut. Shame, too, since the rendering above shows what could have been quite an attractive droptop.
As our compatriots at Edmunds point out, sales of the convertible model accounted for less than five percent of overall Chrysler 200 sales, and at those numbers, the considerable cost of engineering a new drop-top couldn't be justified. With the Toyota Camry Solara and Volkswagen Eos also gone from the market (well, the VW isn't gone quite yet), the discontinuation of the Chrysler 200 Convertible leaves the affordable convertible segment largely to the sportier likes of the Ford Mustang and Chevy Camaro and smaller European offerings like the Mini Cooper and VW Beetle.
The Chrysler 200 Convertible isn't the only derivative being left behind with the new model: so too is the Dodge Avenger. That will leave a glaring hole in the Dodge lineup, with nothing to bridge the gap between the compact Dart and the larger Charger. Whether the Dodge brand has any plans to replace the Avenger with another model, not to be based on the 200, remains to be seen.
