Up for auction is my Project Car, which is a 1970 Dodge Challenger that has a built 440 and a 727 trans. The car was originally a 318/ 904 car but, it was converted over to the 440. The car is a running project, and pretty complete. She will start right up and the motor is strong. The 440 has a block # of 2536430, and the engine is date coded from 1970. The engine has the correct Exhaust Manifolds, and the conversion was done correctly. The car is big project, as she has not been on the road in many years. The car needs a complete restoration but, you have a very good starting point. The car has P/S, and drum brakes. The interior was originally black, and the original color was the lighter Forest Green. It was painted Plum Crazy Purple in the past. The previous owner replaced the front floorpans with Mopar sheet metal, and the trunk pan with Mopar sheet metal also. The car needs lower rear quarters, and the front two fender could be saved but, I would just put two new ones on. The doors are in pretty good shape, and the bottoms of the doors are solid. The rockers look ok with some surface rust that is visible under the car. The roof is in very good shape, with no rust issues at all! The car starts right up, the doors open and close ok, the lights work minus some bulbs. The drivers window regulator works till about 1/2 way up, then starts to slip. My plans were to do a full restoration but, I do not have the extra cash, and a baby on the way.. so she has to go!!
There is no fender tag for the car, sorry. The car will be sold to the highest bidder, as there is NO RESERVE!!! I have a clear title in hand! The car is a project type car! The winning bidder is required to pay a $500 non refundable deposit due within 24 hours of winning the car! The car is being sold " As Is" due to it's age. The deposit must be paid through Paypal. The remaining balance is due within 3 days of the auction closing, and the final payment may be made with a Cashiers check, wire transfer or cash in person. The car must be picked up within 2 weeks of the auction closing, and my zip code is 89131 for shipping purposes. Please email me with any questions, and good luck!! choice!! On Dec-28-13 at 20:54:46 PST, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention the car has a Sure Grip rear end, not sure on the gears though. The door jambs are perfect same as firewall and cowl, roof also in great shape and around windows, new trunk pan, and new front floor pans. |

2013 Dodge Dart gets all Moparized
Fri, 08 Feb 2013Last year, Chrysler announced it would be offering more than 150 Mopar parts and accessories on the 2013 Dodge Dart, and we got a look at some of these parts firsthand at the Chicago Auto Show. Showing off all the optional parts at once would surely create a gaudy monstrosity, so Chrysler chose to equip this particular Dart GT with just a handful of Mopar goodies, which still gave the car a nice and tasteful custom look that is available straight from the dealership (and with a full warranty, too).
Decked out in a factory color called Header Orange Clear Coat - also a very appropriate show car hue - this car added exterior styling parts such as the vented, carbon fiber hood, the bolt-on front chin spoiler and a matte black decklid spoiler. Looking inside the car, you'd think the red-accented interior is part of the Mopar parts bin, too, but this is actually what the standard Dart GT cabin will look like when it goes on sale.
Explore Dom's 1970 'off-road' Dodge Charger from Furious 7
Fri, Apr 3 2015The Aficionauto, Christopher Rutkowski, already drove Dom's 1970 Dodge Charger from Fast & Furious and Fast Five. Now he's returning to the franchise for an interview with Dennis McCarthy, the vehicle coordinator on the last five Fast and Furious films, plus a close look at the custom off-road Charger that's one of the automotive stars in Furious 7. Given his resume, when McCarthy admits this is his new all-time favorite vehicle from the franchise, it really means something. Don't worry. McCarthy is careful not to spoil any of the film's action while he shows off the Charger and Shaw's fast attack vehicle that takes on the Dodge. McCarthy does reveal the one car that he still dreams to build for the series, and it's something that every fan should see. This looks like a fantastic blockbuster movie season for anyone that loves to watch cars crash and explode on the big screen. Furious 7 is in theaters right now, and based on the trailer, it promises the biggest stunts ever from the long-running franchise. And in just a few weeks, Mad Max: Fury Road hits cinemas to add a dystopian tinge to the automotive action. 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat [w/videos]
Tue, 22 Jul 2014Darrell Waltrip once said, "If the lion didn't bite the tamer every once in a while, it wouldn't be exciting." The sentiment behind that aphorism is causing my adrenal gland to wake up as Dodge and SRT drivers and engineers - somber-faced to a man - give me the track talk that will precede my driving the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT on the circuit at Portland International Raceway. PIR might not be Daytona, and the 707-horsepower Challenger Hellcat might seem tame to a legend like ol' Jaws, but there's a not-small part of me that's thinking about how hard Dodge's fire-breathing kitty might bite.
Just a few hours previous, I'd gotten behind the wheel of the Hellcat for the first time, letting its hyperbole-spitting, supercharged V8 Hemi pull me yieldingly through Portland's morning commuter traffic. Lulled into a cocky certainty by the Challenger's good manners at low speed, I drove the throttle just a hair too deep, too fast when I ran on to the highway ramp. For just an instant the rear tires were utterly drenched in torque, and the back end of the big Dodge loosened up like a drift car on a wet track. Throttle steer lives at the fleeting whim of your right foot in this car.
It was no big thing to lay off the gas and pull the Hellcat back in line as I entered the highway, but the incident did get me to thinking: What will this car do to me on a road course?
