This is a 1970 #s matching 318 auto. The car was purchased from a family friend about 20 years ago and parked in my parents barn with plans to eventually restore. It was purchased after the previouse owner removed  transmission to have rebuilt, at that time he decided to remove the intake manifold and other parts necessary to change the camshaft  while the trans was being repaired and did not go any further that that. Everything is still there and has been in the trunk since they were removed. It is a great car to restore as it is complete and is not missing anything to speak of. Body is strait overall, no dents or even dings anywhere on the body, has chrome and rubber door dent guards. Small patches of light surface rust in some areas, few areas near the rear have more extensive surface rust, but still only superficial surface rust. The only rust spots to be found that would require patching are the most common spots in the trunk, directly behind the rear fenderwell seam to trunk pan usually patched with a 4"x4" plate. The car was painted blue sometime more than 25 years ago as we have been familiar with the car for at least that long. It is originally Go-Mango orange with white interior. The interior was dyed black around the same time, dye is peeling in areas but interior is all there. Has a few options not usually included on base models. Equipped with factory air conditioning, fender mount turn signal indicators,  front safety bumpers, cable adjustable chrome drivers door mirror, map light, original AM radio included, cable interior hood latch release. All surface rust shown in pictures on the body has just recently had the paint removed roughly to see the extent of damage. Any rust shown in pictures that looks more than superficial is due to being wet and/or bad lighting. If any body panels need patched it would be very minor for the age and model. we do have a complete extra inetrior including A/C dash and console shift assembly, and complete set of exterior trim including all lights and grill assembly available to be purchased seperatly as a whole or by piece to the winner of sale..

Chrysler recalling 700k minivans and Dodge Journey for ignition switch woes

Tue, 01 Jul 2014

General Motors isn't the only automaker with ignition switch problems. Chrysler is fighting it too and is now announcing a recall of 695,957 examples worldwide of the Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans from the 2008-2010 model years, plus the 2009-2010 Dodge Journey.
According to a statement from Chrysler, the models have a bad wireless ignition node detent ring in the ignition switch, making it possible for drivers to appear to have the key in the "Run" position but for the spring not to fully engage. It can then slip back to the "Accessory" position and shut the car off. If this happens, the vehicle loses power steering, brake boost and the airbags.
There is some disparity about the number of vehicles affected under this recall. In its statement, Chrysler claims that it covers 525,206 vehicles in the US, 102,892 in Canada, 25,591 in Mexico and 42,268 elsewhere. However, the recall announcement posted by The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration lists an estimated 438,109 vehicles in the US. Chrysler spokesperson Nick Cappa told Autoblog via email that the reasoning for the different figures "will become clear at a later date."

Chrysler expecting up to 200,000 9-speed transmissions for 3 models this year

Tue, 22 Jan 2013

Striving for improved fuel economy, we already knew that Chrysler will begin using a nine-speed automatic transmission in some of its new products this year, but what we haven't known is that volume at which this gearbox will be used. According to Bloomberg, Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne has been quoted as saying that the automaker expects to sell close to 200,000 units equipped with this new transmission in 2013. Those gear-rich trannies will be spread out across three models, consisting of the redesigned Chrysler 200, the still-unnamed Jeep Liberty replacement and the Dodge Dart.
This transmission should play a pivotal role in making Chrysler vehicles more competitive in their respective segments. Just for comparison, one of the Dart's key competitors, the Toyota Corolla, still uses a four-speed automatic, and a previous report indicates that the next-generation 200 could get up to 38 miles per gallon on the highway, which is better than most non-hybrid midsize sedans on the market. Marchionne says that the new Jeep model is expected during the second quarter of this year, but there is no word as to when the new 200 or nine-speed Dart will debut, but clearly Dodge would like to have the transmission in its compact yesterday. As for that volume figure, it definitely doesn't seem out of reach since the Dart, Liberty and 200 combined for a total of more than 225,000 units in 2012.
How many more gears can we expect in future cars? Probably not many more, since the CEO of transmission-builder ZF, Stefan Sommer, previously stated that nine speeds was the "natural limit" for transmissions.

Chrysler investigating complaints of vehicles with faulty power modules

Sun, 24 Aug 2014

Chrysler owners are hopping mad after experiencing a series of electrical gremlins in some of the company's vehicles. Issues range from mere annoyances - windows rolling down and radios turning off of their own accord - to serious safety issues, with headlights that randomly shut off at night and cars that stall and refuse to start.
The issues are being blamed on the total integrated power module, which can cost up to $1,000 for customers to replace. This, of course, has led to a hefty batch of complaints to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, with 240 owners expressing their displeasure so far. Another site, CarComplaints.com, has registered over 300 complaints relating to the 2010 to 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango, alone, according to The New York Times.
Chrysler has acknowledged that it's investigating the complaints and is analyzing the faulty TIPMs, but that isn't quite enough for customers of the affected vehicles. The newspaper has snagged a few of the more harrowing tales with the electrically challenged Chrysler products, culled from the NHTSA complaints.
