1970 Dodge Challenger factory 340 car

Heres a chance to buy a nice 1970 Challenger
best we can tell is original paint (Hemi Orange) with the black
trunk stripe. True 340 car. I was driving this car to local shows
and events for the last few yrs but recently its not been running as
well as it use to. Could be fuel pump or clogged fuel line in the tank
Could even be a fuel pump or points in the distributer.
Honestly when it became hard to start, I just parked it in the garage
and started driving some other cars.
Carb may need to be rebuilt too, but I did notice the fuel filter is not
filling up with gas either. I may put some fresh gas in it tomorrow and
see if it starts.

I dont have to sit here and tell you how rare these cars have become.
I wont end the auction early for anyone. If it sells, then it was meant to
be, but if not, It will sit in the garage for a while till I can find time to
work on it again this Fall.

When it was out on the road, it ran well, plenty of power like it should be
and no weird noises or smoke. Ive always added Seafoam to the tank when
it sat for more then a month or so the gas in the tank should be fine. I usually
only keep 1/4 tank or less.

OBVIOUSLY THIS IS NOT a restored car but its a true survivor with some cool
options. Fender tag in place, Clear TX title in hand.

OUR 100% feedback speaks for itself
and many of our feedback are from about 15 cars we sold just this past
year here on EBay. We put more time and effort into our ads making it much
easier for the potential buyers to bid with confidence.
The cars only been in Texas and Tucson , so the rust is minimal and what is
there is mainly in the trunk pan. Rest of the car is super Solid.

DRIVETRAIN: this is a factory 340 car w/ a 727 automatics trans
which is on the column of all places, very rare. Built for
fun and speed, no PS or AC but still a fun car to take out when
on evening cruises. Brakes work fine and all the lights work .
Tires are prob 8 yrs old, but the car sat alot more in the last 20
yrs then Id prefer it to. Mileage on the odometer could be original
but not saying for sure it is or not. Factory rearend out back.

INTERIOR: Black , best color I think
this car has a really rare front bench seat option
and obviously needs a some restoration, but looks complete
and all the main stuff there. Seats, dash, glove box etc.
Floors are very solid and its a very rust free car. Az has been
hard on the vinyl, plastic and rubber, but most restorers can
do a full interior on a car like this in a weekend.
Think the radio still works too.

EXTERIOR: body for the most part, really straight. The previous
owner thought it would be a good idea to spray paint flat black
paint around various parts of the body which is why it has areas
of black on the original paint. Maybe just wetsand it off and keep
rest of the Hemi Orange intact for some cool patina.
The car did get some rust around the back window frame which
isnt horrible, but it will need to be fixed eventually. The Az climate
has keep it from getting much worse like an eastcoast humid area.
Chrome and stainless still in pretty nice shape and all original too.
Saw little to no pitting on any of it.
Still has the factory bumble or hockey stripe across the trunk
whatever they referred to it back then.

SUSPENSION: basically all stock and original
It will eventually need to be restored too of course. Still feels
tight going down the road, but Im sure a new set of shocks
are in its future.

This car is your typical rust free Arizona car but it is
a car that needs some rust repair and still better then one sitting
near the coast or in the rust belt. Az cars are the ones
everybody wants and its for obvious reasons.
Less cost in the restoration and you have bragging rights to saying
90% of my sheetmetal on my car.... is the way it came from the
factory.

It may take a full minute for them all to load if you have a
slow connection, so be patient AND looks for the extra scroll
bar on the right side.
Az gets maybe 12" a yr of rain and Az very dry climate.
more info AFTER the pics etc. There are 100 large pics.

Ill try to work on the carb and stuff this week to
get the car running better... sitting around in the garage and
they still seem to deteriorate areas that keep them from
firing right up everytime. I did drive this car to a local cruise
night in the Spring and it ran fine, but I could tell is was getting
harder to start and stuff that night too.
Car will prob ship as INOP , but we can help get INOPs like
this shipped all over the USA for a fair price quickly.

Junkyard Gem: 1978 Dodge Tradesman Custom Van

Fri, Nov 4 2016

The custom-van craze was huge in California, back in the 1970s, and plenty of folks who would never have considered getting zonked on Acapulco Gold while listening to Elephant's Memory ended up buying Econolines and Beauvilles and Tradesmen with shag carpeting, bubble windows, and wild graphics. In fact, van buyers could get that stuff right from the factory. Most of those vans are gone now, but I found this used-up '78 Dodge in a self-service wrecking yard in California's Central Valley. Owners of custom vans felt strongly about their rides back in the Malaise Era. This one has the look of a vehicle that was used for beer-and-burned-meat-heavy tailgate parties at Oakland Raiders games. Such service is rough on a van. Try to picture this interior when it was new and plush, not the way it looks now. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Special Dodge Challengers get Hellcat bits to celebrate Mopar's 80th birthday

Fri, Feb 10 2017

This year, Mopar is celebrating its 80th anniversary, and it's doing so in two-tone style with this very limited edition Dodge Challenger. Only 160 of these Challengers will be built, with 80 in each paint scheme. Buyers can choose between either Billet Silver or the slightly painful sounding Contusion Blue, each of which gets a hand-painted Pitch Black top half. These Challengers are based on the existing 392 Shaker package, but come with an array of upgrades and tweaks. In addition to the custom two-tone paint, the shaker scoop and rear spoiler are painted in the same color, rather than the usual matte black. The cars come with 20-inch wheels and hand-painted 392 logos on the fenders. The 392 cu. in., or 6.4-liter if you prefer, engine produces the same 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque as its normal counterpart. This Mopar Challenger will have more access to cold air, though, since it has both the shaker scoop and the headlamp intake from the Challenger Hellcat. At the back, there's also exhaust tips borrowed from the most hellish of Challengers. Or at least the most hellish, so far. View 14 Photos Inside, the changes are more minor. Performance seats are added with embroidered Mopar logos in the backrests. The seats and other trim also feature a silver-colored Tungsten stitching. Naturally, a serial number badge makes an appearance inside, too. Owners will also receive a little box of goodies including a booklet, signed rendering, keychain, additional badge, and a certificate showing the date of manufacture. The overall package is rather attractive, but it isn't cheap. To own one of the few Mopar Challengers, you'll have to fork over $56,885. That's a significant premium over the 392 Scat Pack Shaker, which starts at just $44,890 and makes just as much power. You'll also be able to get a 392 Scat Pack Shaker right away, while the Mopar special edition won't be out until spring. Plus, you may not get it until summer because the hand-painting process takes some time. Of course, for some people, the cost and the wait are worth the exclusivity. Chrysler's Jefferson North plant builds 5-millionth SUV [w/video]

Thu, 15 Aug 2013

Chrysler's Jefferson North Assembly Plant opened in 1992 for production of the first Jeep Grand Cherokee, but in the subsequent years, the Detroit plant has gone on to produce some of the company's biggest SUVs including the Jeep Commander and Dodge Durango. Earlier this week, the plant produced its five-millionth SUV, which, fittingly, was a Grand Cherokee.
Celebrating the plant's five-millionth unit, the silver 2014 Grand Cherokee was promptly donated to the USO. In addition to this milestone SUV, Chrysler also had a near-perfect 1993-95 ZJ Grand Cherokee on hand for the photo op. Scroll down for the Chrysler press release as well as a video showing some of the speeches from the celebration.
