BORN A MODEST 318 WITH AUTO ON COLUMN, NOW A 383 WITH A 727 AUTO AND 8 3/4 REAR. HAS A CLEAR ILLINOIS TITLE. I DO NOT KNOW THE HISTORY OF WHEN THE 383 WAS INSTALLED.  IT APPEARS THE 383 HAS BEEN REBUILT AND PAINTED A FRESH COAT OF HEMI ORANGE.   AFB CARB ON TOP MAKES IT RUMBLE LIKE IT SHOULD.  STILL HAS THE A/C BOX AND BLOWER AND MOST OF DUCTING WITH THE VENTS.  THE A/C LINES AND WATER VALVE  ARE NOT PRESANT. NO CONDENSOR EITHER.   THE CAR APPEARS TO BE IN THE FACTORY ORIGINAL PAINT. BY THE PICTURES IT IS CLEAR THE PAINT IS VERY FADED. I WAS TOLD THE CAR IS SOMEWHAT RARE BECAUSE OF THE WHITE PAINTED TOP. NO VINYL. CHROME IS IN RELATIVELY GOOD SHAPE FOR ITS AGE AND APPEARS THE VEHICLE BODY HAS NOT BEEN DISSASSEMBLED.  ALL BODY PANELS LOOK LIKE THE ORIGINALS. ALL BODY NUMBERS MATCH. STILL WEARS THE FACTORY DRIVERS DOOR STICKER. THE ENGINE RUNS VERY GOOD AND TRANS WORKS FINE.  THE BRAKES ARE  WEAK MAYBE NEED TO BE BLED BUT DO WORK. GRILL IS VERY NICE EXCEPT FOR THE PASSENGER HEADLAMP DOOR ON ITS TOP IS DINGED BAD. BLUE INTERIOR WITH NEWER CARPET. DOOR AND REAR SIDE INTERIOR PANELS ARE BLACK. WRONG COLOR BUT NICE SHAPE.. DASH PAD NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED . STANDARD GUAGES WITH 95600 MILES.

HAS VERY NEW TIRES WITH C L WHEELS I THINK THEY ARE REAL (CENTERLINES)  REAR TIRES ARE  275-50-15 AND LOOK IMPRESSIVELY BIG FROM THE BACK. I DO NOT KNOW THE REAR GEAR RATIO YET. REAR RAILS ARE AWESOME SHAPE MOST OF THE BODY IS VERY GOOD ALTHOUGH IT DOES NEED SOME PATCH WORK ON VERY BOTTOM 1/4S  AND  FENDERS..  TRUNK FLOOR MIGHT BE A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR REPLACEMENT UNLESS YOU ARE PATIENT ENOUGH TO FILL IN SOME HOLES. THIS WILL MAKE A GREAT DIVER FOR NOW WITH SOME BRAKE WORK,OR A VERY SOLID START TO SHOW PIECE.  I AM A CUDA GUY AND ALWAYS WANT THEM MORE.  PLEASE CALL ME IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS. Mopar maneuvers into SEMA with a multitude of modified models

Wed, 05 Nov 2014

As the aftermarket and performance arm of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Mopar has a duty to extract everything from the company's models that it can, and there's no better place to show all of its work off than the annual SEMA Show.
Dodge really gets in on the act this year with several customs to show off different parts of the brand's performance heritage. Perhaps the most interesting among them is the track-prepped Viper ACR Concept (pictured above). It wears a custom body kit to produce even more downforce, thanks in no small part to a monstrous wing at the back. To shed weight, most of the interior is stripped out, as well. Next up, the Challenger T/A Concept takes inspiration from '70s Trans-Am racing in a livery of Sublime Green and matte black paint. The center scoop in the hood keeps the 6.4-liter V8 fed with cool air, and the special's 20-by-9.5-inch matte black wheels keep it planted in the corners.
Also getting the once-over from Mopar is the Charger R/T. It wears the division's body kit, and under the hood, a cold-air intake keeps the 5.7-liter V8 breathing. The suspension is retooled to hold the road better with a coil-over kit, upgraded sway bars and strut tower braces for the front and rear. The company is also showing off a snazzy blue Charger with a mean look. The final Dodge getting work from Mopar is the Dart R/T Concept with bright, O-So-Orange paint and a matte black hood with a scoop hooked directly to the air intake. The performance-oriented design is finished off with a coil-over suspension and big brake kit, as well.

Dodge vs. Chevy tug-of-war taken to the extreme

Mon, 17 Dec 2012

They say "idle hands are the devil's playground," but said playgrounds grow to Disney-sized proportions when a pair of jacked-up trucks, two egos, a chain and an empty mall parking lot are involved. Proof of this is the video below, which shows a Cummins-powered Dodge Ram circa 2006 to 2008 chained tail-to-tail with what looks to be a gasoline-powered Chevrolet Silverado from the late 1990s or early 2000s.
We don't necessarily have to tell you who wins this battle, but we'll let you see for yourself the lengths the "winning" driver goes to prove his point. There's plenty of foul language in the video below, so beware that this might be Not Safe For Work, and not that we should have to tell you, but please, do not try this at home.

FCA inline-six rumored to be real, headed for Jeep Wagoneer

Thu, Dec 20 2018

In September, Allpar reported that that clues being dropped at Fiat- Chrysler headquarters, in the carmaker's factories, and on engineer resumes pointed to the development of an inline six-cylinder engine. The site has just proclaimed the rumor is reality, writing that the straight-six, "turbocharged to meet or beat 5.7 Hemi power ratings, with a smoother torque curve, is on the way." The motor's first outing is expected to be either the next-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee, debuting perhaps next year, or the Jeep Wagoneer, debuting in 2020 or 2021. "Tornado" is the purported codename for the power plant said to be just under three liters in displacement, expanding the family begun with the Global Medium Engine 2.0-liter turbo codenamed Hurricane. Engine bay constraints and a long use horizon mean engineers won't simply add two more cylinders to the GME, however. Allpar says the brief is to keep the Tornado GME-T6 — the alphanumeric for "turbocharged six" — no more than three inches longer than the Tigershark 2.4-liter four-cylinder. That means "major design changes" that could include a space-saving head, more closely spaced cylinders, and no cylinder liners. An FCA division called Comau could be called on for its "SmartSpray" plasma lining technology. Allpar muses that the standard version of the engine for Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram could get a single twin-scroll turbocharger. Performance trims for Alfa Romeo and Maserati could get different heads and maybe twin turbos, an SRT version might also get both those tweaks. History shows that the Italian versions would make changes to the block, as well. Even so, the Tornado would be less expensive than any Ferrari-supplied V6. A straight-six would put FCA in company with current adopters BMW and Mercedes-Benz, future users like Jaguar, and perhaps Aston Martin. The engine would span the widest range of use cases in the U.S. carmaker's portfolio, though. Potential applications include being a base engine for Ram trucks, serving double duty as a base engine and 5.7-liter Hemi replacement for the Dodge Charger and Challenger, working in the high-end Jeeps, and as a properly hot trim — with Ferrari-designed heads — in the luxury Italian sports cars. The Alfa Romeo Giulia begs for just such motivation to fill the gap between the 280-hp, $42,695 Ti Sport RWD and the 505-hp, $73,700 Giulia Quadrifoglio RWD. And a twin-turbo inline-six in a Maserati Alfieri would stack up nicely with the Germans.
