1999 Dodge Caravan Base Mini Passenger Van Green 4-door 2.4l Needs Repair 2 Run on 2040-cars
Poughkeepsie, New York, United States
LAST TIME TO BE LISTED AS I HAVE TO MOVE THIS VEHICLE BEFORE WINTER OR TAKE IT TO THE JUNK YARD
The van in this listing is for a once reliable Dodge Caravan. It is used and being sold as is. It is well utilized coming in at 190,099. The van needs some mechanic's work to get it to run. With that perhaps you will be the one to see this van go over and above the 200,000 mark as I had wanted to. This van is from a smoking and pet owner home. The problem: The van starts up, runs for a short time, then stalls. I looked this up in the Haynes and from what I could troubleshoot it may be something to do with a filter on top of the gas tank. BUT I am not sure. The muffler system needs work. Repairs: I have part records for repairs from July 2010 to date. The following was done: water pump, slack idler/tension pulley, disc brake caliper front left, rotor front left, fuel pump, fuel filter, idle air control valve. Exterior: The tires are about a year old with about 10,000 miles on them. Rust on sliding door. Left front fender has dent/rust. Rear hatch has rust on bottom part of door. Roof has dent, scratches, rust. Right quarter panel behind driver door has scratches. Hood has dents and scratches. Dent on back hatch near plate area and rust around the handle to open back hatch. Interior: The interior needs to be detailed as it is dirty from years of use. The visor on the drivers side is ripped. The material above the driver's side head is coming unglued. Info: I purchased this van about ten years ago from Healey Brothers. I believe it had one owner before I had purchased it. I have owned it since I purchased it. I have the title to the van. It has a lien creditor on it, but I have a letter from the creditor stating they have no interest in the vehicle as the loan was satisfied. I believe you will need that to get your title updated when you go to DMV. If you win or purchase this van you will have to call me to arrange for a day to pick this vehicle up with a tow truck or whatever safe means you decide to use to pick up the van. This is at the buyers expense. I will Ebay message you my phone number. I would like to have the van moved within three days of the winning bid or purchase. If this is a problem contact me by Ebay message before bidding or purchasing so we can arrange a date committed to for pick up. The seller is not responsible for any of the repairs needed on the van. Seller is not responsible for the van after it leaves the seller's premises and is titled over to the buyer. Thank you.
Please look at the pictures and read the listing. I have tried to write everything, but if I missed something look at the pictures. If you have any questions please ask before bidding or purchasing. I will answer all questions or concerns. This is a used vehicle that needs repaired for it to run. As previously stated I am not sure what needs to be done to repair it. There also may be other mechanical issues that I may be unaware of that may arise as this is a 1999 vehicle with almost 200,000 miles. But I have listed what I know. The last inspection on the van was December 2012. It passed. The scooter inside the van does not go with the van sale. If you would like to view the van before you bid or purchase please ebay message me so we can set up a time. Will not end listing for you to come view.
I do not accept returns. No refunds. Any questions ask first. Cash, money order or bank check for payment on pick up. Local pick up. Thank you for your time to look at this listing.

Small 3-row crossover SUVs specifications compared on paper
Thu, May 10 2018There's no shortage of three-row vehicles on the market for carrying seven or more people and their stuff wherever they all need to go. Just about every car company has at least one large crossover or traditional SUV with three rows of seats, and there are still plenty of minivans to pick from. But most of these vehicles are large, pricey, and frequently thirsty. Fortunately, there are still a handful of smaller crossovers that deliver 7-passenger capability in a smaller, cheaper package. We've gathered four of the small three-row set here to compare them based on space, power, fuel economy, pricing, and more. They include the very old Dodge Journey, the slightly less old Mitsubishi Outlander and Kia Sorento, and the relatively new Volkswagen Tiguan. You can see the raw numbers in the chart below, followed by a more detailed breakdown and some notes on how we like each of these vehicles. For in-depth opinions on the vehicles, be sure to check out our full reviews, and if you want to compare these with other vehicles, try out our comparison tools. Engines, transmissions and performance Interestingly, three of the four crossovers here utilize similar engines for their four-cylinder offerings. The Dodge, Kia and Mitsubishi all feature naturally aspirated 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines. Only the Volkswagen Tiguan chooses turbocharging and a smaller 2.0-liter displacement. But because of its turbocharger, the Tiguan's four-cylinder is easily the most potent, making a healthy 221 pound-feet of torque, which is more than 40 more than the Sorento, the crossover with the next most torque. The VW is also second-most powerful, just one horse behind the Sorento. The Outlander is the least powerful in the four-cylinder class. The Journey is only barely better, but it will probably feel as slow or worse thanks to its ancient 4-speed automatic. The four-cylinder Sorento and Outlander each have 6-speed automatic transmissions, and the VW has an 8-speed. The Sorento with a V6 has an 8-speed, too. View 17 Photos Moving up to the V6 class, the Outlander is once again at the bottom. It actually makes less torque than the turbo VW Tiguan. The Journey and Sorento are almost perfectly matched. The Journey makes a bit more torque; the Sorento makes a bit more power. The Journey also gets upgraded to a 6-speed automatic. Another powertrain consideration to bare in mind is whether all-wheel-drive is necessary.
Total auto recalls already on record pace in 2014
Tue, 08 Apr 2014If you've noticed that there have been more recalls than usual this year, you may be on to something. According to a report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the US market is on pace to break a record for recalls. In 2013, 22 million cars were recalled. We're only a third of the way through 2014, though, and we've already halved that figure, with 11 million units recalled. That's wild.
Considering the past few months, it shouldn't be a surprise that General Motors is leading the charge, with six million of the 11 million units recalled coming from one of the General's four brands. Between truck recalls, CUV recalls and the ignition switch recall, 2014 hasn't been a great year for GM.
Other recall leaders include Nissan (one million Sentra and Altima sedans), Honda (900,000 Odyssey minivans), Toyota (over one million units in a few recalls), Volkswagen (150,000 Passat sedans), Chrysler (644,000 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs) and most recently, Ford (434,000 units, the bulk of which were early Ford Escape CUVs). So while it's been a bad year for GM so far, its competitors aren't doing too well, either.
Chrysler set to make $266M-investment into 8-speed transmission production
Wed, Dec 10 2014Chrysler will shortly make a significant $266-million investment into its Kokomo, IN transmission factory in a bid to expand production of its eight-speed automatic transmissions. The gearboxes, which are built under license from Germany's ZF Friedrichshafen, have been well received by customers and critics, and according to an SEC filing obtained by Automotive News, the transmissions will eventually find their way to all of Chrysler's rear-drive offerings (Viper and heavy-duty Ram models, aside). According to AN, a Chrysler spokesman says the investment has not been confirmed, but once it is, it'll mark the company's latest in a growing line of investments at the facility. Chrysler has poured $1.5 billion into Kokomo since 2009.
