Up for sale my 2009 Dodge Avenger.

I'm the only owner of this vehicle and never had accidents or damage. It's a well maintained car using Synthetic Oil only and all the maintenance records are available. The vehicle was purchase in Winnipeg, Canada in October 2009 (I have the original receipt and everything). As you probably know, Canada uses the Metric system, not the US system, although the vehicle was produced in the US. Reason why the speedometer is in Km/h, the temperature gauge is in Celsius and the number 83730 is for Kilometers, not Miles. So, 83.730 kilometers would be equal to 52.331 miles aprox. My wife and I moved to the US last year and I brought the car with me.

I have made two upgrades on this vehicle since 2009: heated leather seats (front and back - original leather from Dodge/Chrysler) done in 2012 and the Sony DVD/MP3/BlueTooth Player done last year. It also comes with a Garmin GPS.

Tires: they are almost brand new! I just replaced those tires at Costco back in November 2013 and I have all the original receipts. Rotation and calibration are life time guarantee by Costco. So, you don't have to worry about tires for the next few years. The spare tire has never been used! Brand new!

Mechanical problems? Never really had! The only time I took this car back to the dealer was b/c of a noise when using brakes. They ended up replacing both front brake disks and pads. Service record available.

Dodge Avengers are absolutely amazing on gas/mileage. I can easily travel about 500 miles with a full tank of gas (aprox 13 gallons). So, 38 miles/gas on the highway isn't bad is it?

Body: very unnoticeable dents/scratches here and there...(please see link with detail pictures below). There is a dent on the rear door (passenger side) that can be easily viewed on the perspective picture. Passenger side also there is also a small scratch on the door opener that ended up removing the tint...see picture (my wife's fault!) No major problems; no rust whatsoever. Very clean body! By the way, Winnipeg-Canada does not use salt on the city roads during winter. It doesn't work! Temps there can get around -40F easily during winter. They use a mix of chemical and sand instead. Also, this car comes with engine block heater already installed. A block heater warms an engine to increase the chances that the engine will start as well as warm up the vehicle faster than it normally would in extremely cold weather. In Winnipeg, engine block heaters are mandatory. See why I moved to Cleveland? :)

It comes with original two sets of keys, manual, upgrades included (above description) and whatever is showing on the pictures. What you see is what you get.

Please contact me if you have any other questions.

Stellantis ready to kill brands and fix U.S. problems, CEO Tavares says

Thu, Jul 25 2024

MILAN — Stellantis is taking steps to fix weak margins and high inventory at its U.S. operations and will not hesitate to axe underperforming brands in its sprawling portfolio, its chief executive Carlos Tavares said on Thursday. The warning for lossmaking brands is a turnaround for Tavares, who has maintained since Stellantis was created in 2021 from the merger of Italian-American automaker Fiat Chrysler and France's PSA that all of its 14 brands including Maserati, Fiat, Peugeot and Jeep have a future. "If they don't make money, we'll shut them down," Carlos Tavares told reporters after the world's No. 4 automaker delivered worse-than-expected first-half results, sending its shares down as much as 10%. "We cannot afford to have brands that do not make money." The automaker now also considers China's Leapmotor as its 15th brand, after it agreed to a broad cooperation with the group. Stellantis does not release figures for individual brands, except for Maserati which reported an 82 million euro adjusted operating loss in the first half. Some analysts say Maserati could possibly be a target for a sale by Stellantis, while other brands such as Lancia or DS might be at risk of being scrapped given their marginal contribution to the group's overall sales. Stellantis' Milan-listed shares were down as much as 12.5% on Thursday, hitting their lowest since August 2023. That brings the loss for the year so far to 22%, making them the worst performer among the major European automakers. Few automotive brands have been killed off since General Motors ditched the unprofitable Saturn and Pontiac during a U.S. government-led bankruptcy in the global financial crisis in 2008. Tavares is under pressure to revive flagging margins and sales and cut inventory in the United States as Stellantis bets on the launch of 20 new models this year which it hopes will boost profitability. Recent poor results from global carmakers have heightened worries about a weakening outlook for sales across major markets such as the U.S., whilst they also juggle an expensive transition to electric vehicles and growing competition from cheaper Chinese rivals. Japan's Nissan Motor saw first-quarter profit almost completely wiped out on Thursday and slashed its annual outlook, as deep discounting in the United States shredded its margins. Tavares said he would be working through the summer with his U.S. team on how to improve performance and cut inventory.

Performance doesn't matter anymore, it's all about the feel

Wed, Aug 24 2022

We've just had a week of supercars and high-end EVs revealed. Many of them boast outrageous performance specs. There were multiple vehicles with horsepower in the four-figure range, and not just sports cars, but SUVs with 0-60 mph times under 3.5 seconds. And it's not just a rarified set of supercar builders, comparatively small tuners are also building this stuff. Going fast is easy nowadays and getting easier. So what will distinguish the greats from the wannabes? It's all about how a car feels. This may seem obvious. "Of course it matters that a car should have good steering feel and a playful chassis!" you say. "Why are you being paid for this stuff?" But a lot of automakers have missed the memo. This past week I spent some time in a BMW M4 Competition convertible, and it's a perfect example of prioritizing performance over experience. It boggles my mind how a company can create such dead and disconnected steering; the weight never changes, there's no feel whatsoever. The chassis is inflappable, but to a fault, because it doesn't feel like anything you're doing is difficult or exciting. The car is astoundingly fast and capable, but it feels less like driving a car and more like tapping in a heading on the Enterprise-D. I also happened to drive something of comparable performance that was much more enjoyable: a Mercedes-AMG GT. It was a basic model with the Stealth Edition blackout package, and even though it had a twin-turbo V8 instead of a six-cylinder, it only made 20 more horsepower. The power wasn't the big differentiator, it was (say it with me) the feel. While not the best example, the steering builds resistance as you dial in lock, giving you a better idea of what's happening up front. Pulses and vibrations come back to you as you move over bumpy pavement in corners. The chassis isn't quite as buttoned down, either, providing a little bit of body roll that tells you you're pushing it. It's also easier to feel when the car is wanting to understeer or oversteer, and how your throttle and steering inputs are affecting it. The whole thing is much more involving, exciting and fun. 2021 Mercedes-AMG GT Stealth Edition View 8 Photos That's also to say nothing of the Merc's sounds. That V8 is maybe not the best sounding engine, but its urgent churn through the opened-up exhaust gets your heart racing. It also seems like it's vibrating the whole cabin, so you feel it as much as you hear it.

Chrysler almost smothered the Hellcat before it lived

Thu, 06 Nov 2014

Chrysler's 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat V8 was an absolute sensation from the very moment it was announced, and honestly, how could it not have been? Packing 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, its numbers immediately put every other production muscle car (and many supercars) to shame. Plus, we soon learned that would be wrapped in a package retailing for around $60,000 - a pittance compared to other vehicles offering similar grunt. However, the Hellcat almost never got the chance to rumble under the hood of the Challenger and Charger.
The Hellcat was initially proposed back in 2011, back when Fiat was deciding its future strategy for Chrysler Group, according to Automotive News. At the time, the company was just emerging from its bankruptcy doldrums, and an ultra-high-performance V8 wasn't exactly a must-have item. The program didn't move forward. However, SRT engineers kept fighting, according to AN, and four months later, they received the green light to pull the project off the shelf and continue developing the Hellcat. The muscle car world is certainly better for that decision.
The work of those engineers focused on taking Chrysler's standard 6.2-liter V8 and making it reliably handle all of the extra power from the supercharger. "It came down to micron levels of changes in the crank to be able to withstand the pressures of the engine," said Chris Cowland, director of advanced and SRT powertrain, to Automotive News. The changes amounted to switching out about 91 percent of the parts to make the Hellcat, including some quite minuscule alterations. For example, the washer holding the supercharger pulley is embedded with industrial diamonds to keep it from slipping.
