Unique 3 Owner Series Ii 280zx S130 2+2 Low Reserve on 2040-cars
Tampa, Florida, United States
You are bidding on a meticulously cared for 1983 280ZX, automatic, 2+2. I am the third owner with 425,000 miles on the chassis, but you'd never know it looking at this baby! Two years ago, I stripped the interior to metal and installed Fat Mat on all metal surfaces to reduce road noise and ambient temperatures. Then installed new carpet and new floor mats. Has the original dash board and believe it or not, it IS NOT CRACKED!!! There is an upgraded Hi-Definition Radio with hands-free Bluetooth as well as new speakers. As you will see in the pictures, the interior is easily a 9 out of 10.
The exterior is in amazing shape for a vehicle that has traveled over 400,000 miles. Nope, that's not a typo. I bought this car from the family of the second owner, a race car driver who lived in southern California. This Z was his pride and joy and he often drove it for trips to northern California. In the 3+ years I've had it, I've driven this car throughout the state of Florida for car events and car shows. It has never left me stranded or disappointed. It always cranks on the first try and is a blast to drive! This car is being sold with all the receipts going back to the very first owner. In addition, I am including a car cover and front bra. Bads: Not much. There is a small amount of rust just now forming on front lip of the hood. Due to its location, it is really easy to miss, but I've included a picture. Other than that, this a rust-free car having only been in California and Florida. The brake light is lit on the dashboard, but the emergency brake is functioning properly, brake fluid is fine, brake pads are fine. Perhaps a relay or sending unit. he A/C was rebuilt two years ago by a Z shop in town, but it isn't currently blowing cold. The cruise control is not working. Otherwise, all windows, locks, mirrors, lights, gauges, clock, etc. work fine. More pictures and a walk-around video with the engine running can be found at my Photobucket link. Email me and I'll send you the link. Please ask any questions before bidding. I will answer them as quickly as possible. Winning bidder must deposit $500 via paypal within 48 hours of auction close. Good luck. |

This father and son duo terrorize the UK countryside in Datsun 240Z pair
Wed, 12 Nov 2014The Datsun 240Z got a lot of things right when it was introduced, with handsome styling, strong performance and a reasonably affordable price. And while the coupes grew a strong fan base in the US, they remained quite a rarity in the UK. Decades later, a father and son in England have latched onto the car and bonded over their shared love for two completely opposite takes on this Japanese GT
There's already quite a collection of exotics in Mel Streek's garage, and his rat rod 240Z, which he calls the Ratsun, definitely doesn't fit with the rest. On the outside, the Datsun looks ready to fall apart, but it's mechanically perfect underneath. Alternatively, Mel's son, Ollie, has a completely different take for his Z with its perfect, shining paint.
Both Zs sound amazing, though. They have a mechanical, somewhat course exhaust note that's intoxicating to hear. You can definitely tell there's some work going on under the hood. Check out this video from Petrolicious for a father and son who both find something to love in these classic Japanese coupes.
Datsun to unveil second model later this month
Sun, 08 Sep 2013Datsun, Nissan's new sub-brand for emerging markets, has announced plans to unveil its second model. Its first, the Go, was unveiled almost two months ago, and promised affordable, connected motoring for five in a handsome hatchback body. Datsun is following that up with a pair of new models for Indonesia.
The first of these two new vehicles will be shown on September 17 in Jakarta, eschewing the typical auto show debut. It's targeted at so-called "risers," the nickname for a group of highly aspirational customers in the Indonesian market. Datsun developed it locally with help from Nissan, and it'll cost under 100 million Indonesian rupiah (about $8,900 at today's rates).
We'll have the full boatload of information on the newest member of the Datsun family when it debuts on September 17. Scroll on to read the full press release from Datsun.
37K miles in a 1967 Datsun Roadster
Tue, 11 Mar 2014When we think of comfy, long-distance road cars, there are a few obvious choices. A Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Bentley Continental GT or, assuming fuel efficiency isn't paramount, a Range Rover are all good options for a road trip. But what if that road trip was 37,000 miles? Maybe something more reliable but still comfortable, then, like a Honda Accord. What about a 1967 Datsun Roadster?
As insane as it sounds, Scott Fisher is doing just that, running a Datsun 1600 Roadster across North America and racking up 13,500 miles in his first three months on the road. His total journey will see him pile over 37,000 miles on his red convertible. The car is lightly modified, but most of the work is for the sake of reliability and comfort, with a five-speed manual 'box, an upgraded radiator and electronic ignition.
Fisher's trip hasn't been all smooth, with a few typical bits of trouble. He also ran into some deer in Utah, quite literally, clipping one of the animals, which delivered quite a bit of damage to the passenger's front fender (hence the rear three-quarter view in our lead shot). Still, the car seems to be holding up well, as shown in this latest video from Petrolicious.
