Recently discovered still in possession of the orignal owner, ths 280ZX has to be one of the finest unmolested original examples in existence. Authentic documented 5300 miles from new and perfect storage conditions over the cars 33 year life result in this time capsule find. A very recent total service has just been completed and this runs, drives and performs as good as it looks. Still riding on the orignal raised white letter Bridgestone tires that show minimal wear from their 5300 miles of use. This car was always covered in a climate controlled environment so all of the rubber and plastic trim has no damage or deterioration whatsoever. The leather is soft and supple showing no wear or damage and absolutely has no dye work ever done. Carpets are flawless. Dash pad, switch gear, console controls and steering wheel appear as brand new. All Weatherstripping is pliable and shows no age deterioration. Every single gauge, light, accessory and option operate properly as you would expect. The cars mechanical condition is commensurate with the cosmetics. It runs smooth and quiet, good performance, no leaks or other issues are present, Gearbox and clutch operate properly and brakes are fully functional. We would advise caution for excessive speed on the original 33 year old tires but they appear fine and were off the ground in the cars long term storage. The chassis componentry and underhood pictures should demonstrate how well this car was cared for over the years. Very dry storage prevented any oxidation of all of the aluminum and plated pieces and as you see the car appears both underhood and underside to be a near brand new car. There are absolutly zero modifications from factory build on this car. It is 100% bone stock original. photo 2014-07-29105907_zps87d70fc3.jpg photo 2014-07-29105915_zps5edb4a04.jpg photo 2014-07-29105930_zpsf2fb2b0c.jpg photo 2014-07-29110013_zps2be1aac4.jpg photo 2014-07-29110023_zpsb0ff8ea7.jpg photo 2014-07-29110046-2_zps23371ad1.jpg photo 2014-07-29110101_zps62bf99e0.jpg photo 2014-07-29110119_zps1f8b8716.jpg photo 2014-07-29110134_zps296f489f.jpg photo 2014-07-29110143-2_zps3ba9fe72.jpg photo 2014-07-29110154-2_zps9715f9e3.jpg photo 2014-07-29110207-2_zpsf6675591.jpg photo 2014-07-29110215_zpse779f17c.jpg photo 2014-07-29110226_zpsbdb0a981.jpg photo 2014-07-29110255_zpsc71171f1.jpg photo 2014-07-29110307-2_zps89e9de86.jpg photo 2014-07-29110338_zpsc29adfad.jpg photo 2014-07-29110347_zps296c40f1.jpg photo 2014-07-29110455_zps2ec1bc1f.jpg photo 2014-07-29110522_zpsae18d968.jpg photo 2014-07-29110529_zps50c2a70d.jpg photo 2014-07-29110556_zps92287b0b.jpg photo 2014-07-29110628_zps223f841e.jpg photo 2014-07-29110635_zpsf819d978.jpg photo 2014-07-29110642_zps2a6a46e9.jpg photo 2014-07-29110652_zpsd153fcce.jpg photo 2014-07-29110700_zpsf4911ce6.jpg photo 2014-07-29110708_zps39f63ee7.jpg photo 2014-07-29110721_zps5f36eba0.jpg photo 2014-07-29110736_zpsb88955be.jpg photo 2014-07-29110746_zps8bd56276.jpg photo 2014-07-29110804_zps50c207b5.jpg photo 2014-07-29110938_zps12dc84f0.jpg photo 2014-07-29110946_zps8ab7b798.jpg photo 2014-07-29111002_zpsb62e9b64.jpg photo 2014-07-29111021_zpscfe1a656.jpg photo 2014-07-29111040_zpsf6826f00.jpg photo 2014-07-29111059_zps369ca883.jpg photo 2014-07-29111115_zps37c64d3e.jpg photo 2014-07-29111138_zps26054259.jpg photo 2014-07-29111258_zpse1b11715.jpg photo 2014-07-29111312_zps626dbd7f.jpg photo 2014-07-29111512_zpsb6205cd1.jpg photo 2014-07-29111529_zps0fc55090.jpg photo 2014-07-29111554_zps5c4fc9a0.jpg photo 2014-07-29111603_zps0c0c4876.jpg photo 2014-07-29111616_zps560a2328.jpg photo 2014-07-29111628_zps566a645c.jpg photo 2014-07-29111658_zpsd52605ed.jpg photo 2014-07-29111903_zps3c038a27.jpg photo 2014-07-29111929_zps283d22af.jpg photo 2014-07-29111942_zps76a396f8.jpg photo 2014-07-29112744_zps1f757f98.jpg photo 2014-07-29112758_zpsd8148c02.jpg photo 2014-07-29112812_zps5b5f83e9.jpg photo 2014-07-29112824_zps381741d9.jpg photo 2014-07-29112842_zps6e46c73a.jpg photo 2014-07-29112850_zpsb8f8525d.jpg photo 2014-07-29112907_zpsebd1592d.jpg photo 2014-07-29112931_zps3f4b98dd.jpg photo 2014-07-29112942_zps0843f417.jpg photo 2014-07-29112952_zps3475c900.jpg photo 2014-07-29113001_zps836d03c5.jpg photo 2014-07-29113019_zps3b8b087e.jpg photo 2014-07-29113043_zps7016b966.jpg photo 2014-07-29113105_zps9b4a2cef.jpg photo 2014-07-29113122_zpsfe538036.jpg photo 2014-07-29113139_zps7e03f623.jpg photo 2014-07-29113212_zps55f22394.jpg photo 2014-07-29105907_zps87d70fc3.jpg

Roadkill pits every project car against each other

Sat, 22 Feb 2014

The guys behind Motor Trend's monthly Roadkill series have collected nine of their favorite project cars from their videos and pitted them against each other in a battle royale to determine a winner. It's 44 minutes long, but it's completely worth the investment of time.
The cars run the gamut from a 1973 Chevrolet Ramp Truck, a 1975 AMC Pacer and a legitimately impressive 1967 Chevy Camaro, and they are pitted against each other to see which is the fastest around an autocross course. The drivers include Roadkill's two hosts and Motor Trend's Johnny Lieberman and Carlos Lago. It's reminiscent of the best episodes of Top Gear and worth a watch.
So it's the weekend - the perfect time to relax. Grab your preferred beverage, get comfortable and enjoy 44 minutes of some seriously ratty but utterly cool project cars as they are throttled within an inch of their lives (or past it). Scroll down to check out the video.

Datsun expands low-cost revival with new Mi-Do in Moscow [w/video]

Fri, 29 Aug 2014

Those who were disappointed when Datsun changed its name to Nissan over three decades ago may have been pleased to see the marque revived last year, even as a budget brand. Nissan's counterpart to its ally Renault's Dacia budget brand, Datsun has been steadily expanding its lineup of low-cost transportation for developing markets with the debut of the Go hatchback in India, the Go+ minivan in Indonesia and the On-Do sedan in Russia. And now it has returned to Moscow to reveal its fourth model, the Mi-Do.
Based closely on the On-Do sedan (which itself is based on the Lada Granta) the Mi-Do takes on a five-door hatchback bodystyle but with no more frills. It uses the same front-drive chassis with the same wheelbase as the sedan, but its chopped tail makes it a good foot and a half shorter overall. Into that compact shape, Datsun has fitted dual airbags, ABS and... well, that's about it. It's got a 1.6-liter, eight-valve inline-four kicking out a grand total of 87 horsepower to either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic. Bare bones, this is.
While delivery of the first On-Do sedans commences next month (with the first example going to an IT specialist in Omsk), the Mi-Do is set to begin delivery early next year. Scope out the video and press release below from the Mi-Do's reveal at the Moscow Motor Show.

Meet the man who took a year sabbatical to drive his 1967 Datsun Fairlady Roadster

Tue, 28 Jan 2014

A quiet drive in the country can be the most relaxing thing in the world. What if it didn't have to end, and you could keep driving for a week, a month or even a whole year? That's what Scott Fisher is doing by taking a one-year sabbatical from work and driving his 1967 Datsun Fairlady Roadster around North America.
"I had owned a manufacturing business in Las Vegas for 16 years. I knew I needed to kinda' get out, and unwind, and get my mojo back," said Fisher.
Fisher's trip has covered over 30,000 miles through 44 states and 7 Canadian Provinces, and it is not over yet. He left from his home in Las Vegas, NV, last spring and drove to the Pacific. From there, he drove up the coast to the Canadian border and aimed the car for the Atlantic. He just posted on his blog about visiting the Nissan headquarters and museum in Franklin, TN, and his next stops are Mississippi and New Orleans, LA.
