1975 280z Restored / Custom W/ Chevy 400 & T-5 5-speed ***no Reserve*** on 2040-cars
Fort Collins, Colorado, United States
Fully built, restored, and customized 1975 280z Listed with NO RESERVE Watch the video of it, it is about 4 minutes long and takes you from a walk around to a road test!
It will be hard to tell you everything that has been done to this vehicle as there is a lot but let me try: Body: The body and frame were completely media blasted back to bare metal, all the work was done then the body was painted Popsicle Orange. The frame was coated with a rust sealing and resistant coating. Any parts that needed attention or replacement were given their due attention. Just about all the weather stripping and seals on the vehicle are new. Look at the pictures / video of the vehicle from every angle, it looks great. Suspension / Chassis The complete system was gone though, all bushings were replaced with polyurethane bushings. New struts all around which also lowered the vehicle 1" all around. New brakes all around New tie rod ends New wheel bearings all round Brand new (less than 20 miles as of today) 225/50 Falken tires on brand new 16x8 Rota Turbine wheels. Drivetrain: Dropped in SBC 400 with 44K miles in it, the motor was completely gone through and accessorized to work for this vehicle. Things like new: mini starter, aluminum flywheel, 4 barrel intake and carb, special harmonic balancer, ceramic coated headers, alternator, and probably more were added to the motor before it was dropped in and matted with a T5 5-speed from a 90s Camaro with about 50k miles. The tranny was installed with a new clutch and new master and slave cylinders. A new custom short throw sport shifter was also installed to improve the feel of shifting and locate the shifter at the perfect location. The power is then delivered to the rear tires through a new custom drive shaft with new u-joints. The fuel system was also addressed, the tank was professionally cleaned and sealed, new high pressure fuel pump was installed with new fuel lines and a regulator up top. Again, I am sure I am missing a lot of things. This was a complete restoration, no corners were cut, the car runs great and was put together as it should have been. Look at the video watch it run! Interior: This will be another tough one as it will be really hard to name everything that was done. Sound deadening matting was used throughout the floor. New JVC digital media receiver New Polk DB speakers installed in the doors 12" DVC sub and alpine amp in custom box with raised floor look using same new carpet used for cabin. Tweeters were installed in the corners of the dash and 3" speakers were installed in open gauge locations in the center console. Everything in the dash and interior has been gone through and everything that needed attention was either restored or replaced. Complete set of after market gauges, new carpet, completely restored seats and the drivers seat was converted into a heated drivers seat! This button will be tactfully located in the center console before you receive the vehicle. Again, I can go on and on but it will just take time that you could be using to enjoy the pictures and video so I will leave it at that, if you have questions feel free to ask them. The vehicle comes with a clean and clear Iowa title Basically, this 280z looks and runs great, a lot of attention has been given to it to make sure it would be a fantastic and fun vehicle for someone. Only about 20 miles have been put on the vehicle since the build, more would be added to help fine tune everything and to be honest just for the hell of driving it a little before she goes to her new home. I hope to put about 200 miles on the vehicle before it is delivered to have everything appropriately fitted and tuned. This vehicle is being listed with NO RESERVE so the top bidder will win the vehicle Take your time to go over the pictures and video they will be the best gauge of condition and attention to detail that was given to this build! If you have 0% feedback rating please contact me before or at time of you bidding so I can make sure to keep the auction fair to everyone. Seats are beautiful and remember this one is a heated seat! Custom built shifter linkage to locate the shifter, looks better than stock! Tires still have branding on their thread New Custom Drive Shaft New steal braided fuel line with new fuel pump. New custom fitted radiator with electric fan! Remember, this auction does not have a reserve, the individual with the top bid at the end will win this car! |

Renault planning a Tata Nano rival. Again.
Wed, 28 Nov 2012Four years ago, Renault confirmed that it would partner with India's Bajaj Auto to develop a rival to the Tata Nano. At the time, as everyone waited for the Tata Nano to arrive, you could have used a Richter scale to measure the tremors the executive suites of any automaker with an interest in the low end of emerging markets. Then the Nano, still the cheapest car in the world, didn't sell so well - at the end of last year its sales were just six percent of its most conservative projections - and everyone seemed content to let Tata spend the money to figure out if there really was a market for the cheapest car in the world.
Renault believes there is, kind of. Automotive News Europe reports that it will partner with Nissan to build two low-priced cars for emerging markets, one for €3,000 ($3,888 U.S.) and another for €5,000 ($6,400 U.S.). The price of the least expensive offering is nearly $1,400 more than a Nano, which costs $2,500, and that can't be considered a small sum in comparison. But one of the hindsight knocks on the Nano has been that even in emerging markets buyers don't want a car whose biggest lure is that it is cheap; they'd rather give their aspirations a bit more of a workout.
Renault's offerings are scheduled to hit the non-Western market in late 2014, which is coincidentally the same year that will see the return of the budget-minded and emerging-market-specific Datsun nameplate. They'll be built in Renault facilities in Chennai, India, with no mention made of Bajaj this time around.

Meet the man who took a year sabbatical to drive his 1967 Datsun Fairlady Roadster
Tue, 28 Jan 2014A quiet drive in the country can be the most relaxing thing in the world. What if it didn't have to end, and you could keep driving for a week, a month or even a whole year? That's what Scott Fisher is doing by taking a one-year sabbatical from work and driving his 1967 Datsun Fairlady Roadster around North America.
"I had owned a manufacturing business in Las Vegas for 16 years. I knew I needed to kinda' get out, and unwind, and get my mojo back," said Fisher.
Fisher's trip has covered over 30,000 miles through 44 states and 7 Canadian Provinces, and it is not over yet. He left from his home in Las Vegas, NV, last spring and drove to the Pacific. From there, he drove up the coast to the Canadian border and aimed the car for the Atlantic. He just posted on his blog about visiting the Nissan headquarters and museum in Franklin, TN, and his next stops are Mississippi and New Orleans, LA.
