I Highly suggest looking coming out and looking at the car before bidding. THE GOOD: The car is a good driver it was owned by a mechanic before me so most everything works, Lights, turn signals, tac, speedo, wipers, blue tooth radio, rebuilt round top su Carbs, newer brakes, New tires about 3-5000 miles. The car has had rust repair on the floor boards( patched welded) and covered with undercoating looks ok but solid. The rocker panels, one fender and the bumper delete were all welded in and bondoed. The paint is a newer duplicolor paint with 3-4 coats of clear . Looks good front 10' off . The BLack strips are decals. The front and rear window seals have been replaced . The AC actually does blow cold (surprise) . It runs and drives fine , The exhaust is newer but a bit loud is straight with a CHerry bomb Resonator and Chrome tip. The interior is in good shape there is a small tear in driver's seat . The door panels are nice but they are from a 280z and the door lock holes did not line up so there are 2 holes on each door panel . The interior was white and has been changed over to black . Many of the pieces were changed over... door panels, new headliner, visors, seats and some plastic were dyed black. It has been 2 years and still looks good. The car runs great I have driven it a good bit and the PO drove it on a couple long trips. Like all old z cars it has a bit of exhaust smell. the tail lights and every opening in the rear needs to be plugged, I haven't had time to do this. The car Starts right up and drives great. The rims are old Westerns ( much like the Panasports or Konig rewind but older) Tires are great. Has newer carpet kit installed but not the best of quality. The Bad One of the fenders did not get the best of Patches and bondo treatment and could be replaced. The bumper delete is kinda wavy. The Paint job is OK paint was decent and it was wet sanded between coats but it is definitely driver quality enough to impress from 10-15 feet off but there are imperfections. I bought the car for a friend overseas and then he saw a 240 I had that he wanted more . I have too many z cars so this one has to go . IF you have any questions or want to see it you can give me a call 828 242 6181 . I do have it for sale locally and reserve the right to end the auction early. I will try to post more pictures

Datsun Redi-Go is reborn brand's first concept car [w/video]

Wed, 05 Feb 2014

Nissan's plan for its reborn Datsun sub-brand just got a shot in the arm, as the emerging-market manufacturer has unveiled its first concept car since its resurrection back in 2012. Called the Redi-Go Concept, it looks like a high-riding version of Datsun's recently launched Go hatchback that's been fitted with a few concept car cues (not a bad thing).
The Redi-Go packs LED taillights, Datsun's "D-cut grille" and LED running lights into its Go-inspired body. Funky two-tone 15-inch wheels add a bit of cheek to the overall design, and in our minds look quite good, despite being so small. The ruggedized front and rear bumpers, as well as the sill and wheel arch surrounds add to the Redi-Go's rough-and-tumble aesthetic. We like that Datsun has kept the overall package short, giving the Redi-Go a 92.5-inch wheelbase, rather than creating a lifted version of the upcoming Go+. There are no specific mentions of the Redi-Go's mechanicals, although we'd wager that a production model might share the 1.2-liter engine and five-speed manual found in the standard Go.
While it might be easy to dismiss a concept like the Redi-Go in America, there's no denying its importance to the Indian market, which is decidedly more limited when it comes to available bodystyles. "If we were to make a car like Datsun Redi-Go Concept it would be a segment creator in India, an aspirational car that at the same time is attainable, a car that would be within reach of the first time buyer. This concept shows how serious we are about reinvigorating the market by catering for the needs of a growing class of Indians who have the chance to own a family car that will enable them to enjoy a new sense of independence," said Vincent Cobee, the global head of Datsun.

Datsun expands low-cost revival with new Mi-Do in Moscow [w/video]

Fri, 29 Aug 2014

Those who were disappointed when Datsun changed its name to Nissan over three decades ago may have been pleased to see the marque revived last year, even as a budget brand. Nissan's counterpart to its ally Renault's Dacia budget brand, Datsun has been steadily expanding its lineup of low-cost transportation for developing markets with the debut of the Go hatchback in India, the Go+ minivan in Indonesia and the On-Do sedan in Russia. And now it has returned to Moscow to reveal its fourth model, the Mi-Do.
Based closely on the On-Do sedan (which itself is based on the Lada Granta) the Mi-Do takes on a five-door hatchback bodystyle but with no more frills. It uses the same front-drive chassis with the same wheelbase as the sedan, but its chopped tail makes it a good foot and a half shorter overall. Into that compact shape, Datsun has fitted dual airbags, ABS and... well, that's about it. It's got a 1.6-liter, eight-valve inline-four kicking out a grand total of 87 horsepower to either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic. Bare bones, this is.
While delivery of the first On-Do sedans commences next month (with the first example going to an IT specialist in Omsk), the Mi-Do is set to begin delivery early next year. Scope out the video and press release below from the Mi-Do's reveal at the Moscow Motor Show.

Datsun officially reborn with Go model for India [w/video]

Mon, 15 Jul 2013

In March of 2012, Nissan announced the return of its historic Datsun brand. Datsun used to represent the Nissan brand in a number of markets, but its badge hasn't been worn on a new model since 1981. In 2013, though, it has been relaunched as the Japanese manufacturer's budget offering in the emerging markets of India and Russia.
The model that will lead that charge, at least in India, is the Go, a car that pays tribute to the very first Datsun, the DAT-GO.
The operative term with the Datsun brand is: "budget offering." Don't step inside the Go and expect beautiful hides or brushed metals (it's being sold in India, after all). The instrument cluster features a simple speedometer, while the five-speed manual and the center stack above it are rather barren. It's not without luxuries, though, as iPod-style connectivity is available through a Mobile Docking Station.
