CAR STARTS FINE WITH CHOKE ON. WARMS UP AND RUNS WITH A SLIGHT HESITATION DUE TO DIRTY CARB OR CARBS. ONCE IT IS WARM IT IMMEDIATELY STARTS WITH A QUICK TURN OF KEY. AT SOME POINT THE DISTRIBUTOR DID NOT HAVE JUICE, AND A BYPASS WIRE APEARS TO HAVE BEEN INSTALLED, WHICH IS PROBABLY WHY THE TACHOMETER DOES NOT WORK. I HAVE DRIVEN THE CAR ON THE HIGHWAY AND RUNS FINE. THE TIRES ARE OLD AND SLIGHTLY OUT OF ROUND AND WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED. I INSTALLED A NEW CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER, AND PURCHASED A NEW SLAVE CYLINDER WHICH HAS NOT BEEN INSTALLED.TRANSMISSION SHIFTS GREAT. THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL MOUNT SEEMS TO BE BAD. IT THUMPS WHEN YOU SHIFT HARD. IT WILL ALSO NEED TO BE REPLACED.A/C AND SMOG PUMPS ARE THERE AND CURRENTLY HAVE THE FAN BELTS CONNECTED AND RUNNING.

THE BODY IS STRAIGHT WITH ABSOLUTELY NO RUST. IT HAS ORIGINAL PAINT, AND HAS NEVER BEEN IN ANY ACCIDENT OR HAD ANY BODY PANELS REPLACED. DRIVER DOOR NEEDS A GOOD PUSH TO CLOSE IT FIRMLY. THE SPARE TIRE AREA SHOWS THE ORIGINAL COLOR AND THE SPARE TIRE IS ORIGINAL AND APPEARS TO HAVE NEVER BEEN USED OR EVEN MOUNTED ON THE VEHICLE.

THE INTERIOR NEEDS WORK ON BOTH SEATS AND THE DASH HAS CRACKED FROM BEING PARKED IN THE SUN FOR A FEW YEARS. NO BROKEN GLASS. THE DOOR WEATHERSTRIPPING NEEDS REPLACING. HEADLINER HANGS JUST A BIT, HARDLY NOTICEABLE.

ALL LIGHTS WORK AND GAUGES AS I STATED WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE TACHOMETER. INTERIOR DOME LIGHT AND REVERSE, HAZAERD, AND CONSOLE LIGHT WORK AS WELL. IGNITION KEY ALSO LOCKS GLOVE BOX, REAR HATCH, AND BOTH DOORS. WIPERS WORK WELL. STEERING WHEEL FOAM HAS DRIED UP AND MAY NEED REPLACING.

OVERALL A VERY NICE CANDIDATE FOR RESTORATION OR A QUICK PAINT FOR A FLASHY DAILY DRIVER. THANK YOU AND GOOD LUCK.

Meet the man who took a year sabbatical to drive his 1967 Datsun Fairlady Roadster

A quiet drive in the country can be the most relaxing thing in the world. What if it didn't have to end, and you could keep driving for a week, a month or even a whole year? That's what Scott Fisher is doing by taking a one-year sabbatical from work and driving his 1967 Datsun Fairlady Roadster around North America.
"I had owned a manufacturing business in Las Vegas for 16 years. I knew I needed to kinda' get out, and unwind, and get my mojo back," said Fisher.
Fisher's trip has covered over 30,000 miles through 44 states and 7 Canadian Provinces, and it is not over yet. He left from his home in Las Vegas, NV, last spring and drove to the Pacific. From there, he drove up the coast to the Canadian border and aimed the car for the Atlantic. He just posted on his blog about visiting the Nissan headquarters and museum in Franklin, TN, and his next stops are Mississippi and New Orleans, LA.

Datsun debuts new seven-seat Go+ in Indonesia [w/video]

The Datsun name may have long since been replaced by Nissan, but the old brand is making a comeback - in certain markets, at least. Nissan relaunched the Datsun brand in July as its new budget brand for developing markets with the debut of the Go hatchback, and has now followed up with the addition of the larger Go+.
Set to be built in Indonesia at Nissan's plant in Purwakarta, the Go+ debuts today in the capital of Jakarta as the second model in the new Datsun lineup. The seven-passenger minivan features flexible seating in a compact form 13 feet long, powered by an unspecified 1.2-liter engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
Nissan isn't saying much else about the model, but hopes the new Datsun twins will account for half of its sales in Indonesia within three years. The low price target for both models - set to come in at less than 100 million rupiah ($8,700) - ought to help it get there. The lineup is then scheduled to reach other markets, starting with India, Russia and South Africa next year.
