1972 Datsun 240z W/ L28det Turbo Engine Swap on 2040-cars
Ridgewood, New York, United States
So you might be wondering after spending approx 2 years, why would I sell this car, and there are only 4 letters to explain BABY...
Yes! I recently got a surprise and my girl wants me to get a "family car" which is very sad for someone like me who spend soooooo much work into this my other baby :'( In any case let me explain you a bit more about this beast. I founded about 2 years ago in Long Island, wasn't in the best shape in or out, but after some serious TLC, I can tell you this car is prime piece of art, if I could wait longer I would finish a few things left to be done, but what is a classic if they are finished right??? The car is freshly painted about 3 months ago, carries a L28DET Engine with some serious Horse power (TURBO of course)... recently reupholster seats and door panels new bumper in front and fender flares, new radio and speakers original Z rims (which are pretty rear)... It has a new windshield seal brand new carpets... The engine runs, turbo also runs, has a brand new alternator, but because this is a modify car the computer hasn't been finished installing it, so the car runs on and off, it needs some mechanical service to get it on point, also needs to connect the tachometer, other than that the car looks brilliant. I am working into get the engine running over a friend of mine, if I get everything together earlier than the sell, the price might go up so buy quick ;) I have describe to the best of my capability the car, if ANY QUESTION DO SO AND WILL RESPOND ASAP. THE BIDING STARTS AT $6,000 BUY IT NOW FOR $9,000 I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CLOSE THE BIDDING AT ANY TIME |

Datsun expands low-cost revival with new Mi-Do in Moscow [w/video]
Fri, 29 Aug 2014Those who were disappointed when Datsun changed its name to Nissan over three decades ago may have been pleased to see the marque revived last year, even as a budget brand. Nissan's counterpart to its ally Renault's Dacia budget brand, Datsun has been steadily expanding its lineup of low-cost transportation for developing markets with the debut of the Go hatchback in India, the Go+ minivan in Indonesia and the On-Do sedan in Russia. And now it has returned to Moscow to reveal its fourth model, the Mi-Do.
Based closely on the On-Do sedan (which itself is based on the Lada Granta) the Mi-Do takes on a five-door hatchback bodystyle but with no more frills. It uses the same front-drive chassis with the same wheelbase as the sedan, but its chopped tail makes it a good foot and a half shorter overall. Into that compact shape, Datsun has fitted dual airbags, ABS and... well, that's about it. It's got a 1.6-liter, eight-valve inline-four kicking out a grand total of 87 horsepower to either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic. Bare bones, this is.
While delivery of the first On-Do sedans commences next month (with the first example going to an IT specialist in Omsk), the Mi-Do is set to begin delivery early next year. Scope out the video and press release below from the Mi-Do's reveal at the Moscow Motor Show.
Datsun debuts new seven-seat Go+ in Indonesia [w/video]
Wed, 18 Sep 2013The Datsun name may have long since been replaced by Nissan, but the old brand is making a comeback - in certain markets, at least. Nissan relaunched the Datsun brand in July as its new budget brand for developing markets with the debut of the Go hatchback, and has now followed up with the addition of the larger Go+.
Set to be built in Indonesia at Nissan's plant in Purwakarta, the Go+ debuts today in the capital of Jakarta as the second model in the new Datsun lineup. The seven-passenger minivan features flexible seating in a compact form 13 feet long, powered by an unspecified 1.2-liter engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
Nissan isn't saying much else about the model, but hopes the new Datsun twins will account for half of its sales in Indonesia within three years. The low price target for both models - set to come in at less than 100 million rupiah ($8,700) - ought to help it get there. The lineup is then scheduled to reach other markets, starting with India, Russia and South Africa next year.
Malaise Era All-Stars
Fri, 17 May 2013A few weeks ago, we bid a fond happy 40th anniversary to the automotive dark ages of 1973-84 that have come to be known as "The Malaise Era" - the performance ice-age when 160 horsepower was a lot and a 0-60 time of under 10 seconds was remarkable. Like music in the 1980s, everything in automobiledom didn't suck, however. There were a few bright spots. Here are five of our favorites:
