Last buyer was a flake, please don't make an offer unless you are serious about purchasing.

If you're interested in my car please contact me! I'm also interested in trades for parts (S30) or possibly other cars. I am interested in 4x4 Toyota pickups or 4runners, OR Datsun/Nissan pickups (Must be 4x4). Make me an offer, and just talk with me. Worst I can say is no.

My Datsun 280zx Turbo is up for sale! This car has been my project for a while now, and has had a lot of money put into it. I need to sell it as I have just picked up a 240z and I no longer have the time to devote to this car. It does need some work, hence the low price. I know what the components in this car are worth, and if you can fix it or can use the components(For a swap or otherwise), you're getting this 280zxt for a steal. Nearly everything in the drivetrain has been replaced, rebuilt, or upgraded, including the engine and turbo. It has been a California car all its life and has minimal rust, but there are some small spots. Everything I have found has been on the body, and absolutely nothing on the frame. It is a salvage title unfortunately, though I had even forgotten that. There is no frame damage, and insurance companies like to do this to old cars. I have been underneath the car more times than I can count and there is nothing wrong with it. There are some dents and body damage, but it is 30+ years old at this point and the price reflects that. Pictures of said damage included. Ebay only allows me to post 4 pictures on here(For free), but here is a link to my photobucket with plenty more:

It does drive almost flawlessly as is. But at idle there is a very slight roughness. My guess is the O2 sensor as I was getting no reading from it with my multimeter. Nearly everything mechanical and sensor wise has been replaced though, see the list below. I will give the most accurate description of the car I can.

So here's a list of the work done on the car:
All of these are within ~13,000 miles
Complete Bottom/Top End of Engine Rebuilt
Low Mileage T-5 Manual Transmission swapped in
New Brute Power Clutch and Flywheel
New Water Pump
New Alternator
New NGK BPR7ES-11 Spark Plugs
New NGK Spark Plug Wires
New Distributor Cap/Rotor
New Valve Cover Gasket
New Fuel Pressure Regulator
New 3-Wire O2 Sensor
New Cylinder Head Temperature Sensor
Replaced Vacuum and Fuel Lines/filter
New Fuel Pump
New Thermostat Sensor
Replaced all Fluids recently including Castrol High Performance Synthetic oil at change ~500 miles ago
New Starter Motor
New Fuel Injector Set
Factory Rebuilt MAF
All Exhaust Gaskets Replaced
New Intake/Exhaust Manifold Gasket

Here's a List of UPGRADES done to the car:
R200 OBX Helical Type LSD
New T3/T4 Hybrid Turbo
New Larger 3 Core Aluminum Radiator
Upgraded to 300zx Ignition Coil
New Poly Suspension Bushings all around
Drilled and Slotted Brake Rotors w/ Semi-Metallic pads
Stainless Steel Brake Lines
New Tokico HP Struts all around
New Magnaflow Muffler - Not overly loud and has a great tone
300ZXT ECU Swap
Greddy Profec B Electronic Boost Controller
Rare 120mph Speedo Swapped in

The bad:
Still on the factory paint job and has a few dents.
Fuel pump is wired up to a switch at the moment, could be good or bad depending on how you look at it, I like it.
The trunk interior isn't in the best condition, however the front is in very good condition.

This car is ready for more boost! All you need is a front mount intercooler and some bigger injectors. Everything else is 100% ready to go. It's also the perfect candidate for a swap into your s30, a rebuilt engine w/ upgraded turbo, low mileage T-5, new helical LSD for a good price. The rest of the car could easily be parted/sold and make your swap cheap. I simply don't have the time.

Aside from the idle, the car pulls fantastically through the rev range. The 300zx ECU swap was a great upgrade from the stock management system. The upgraded turbo spools way faster than stock, and these upgrades alone (Running 10-12lbs of boost) makes the car significantly faster and more fun to drive. Coupled with the HLSD, and all of the new suspension bits this thing can take a corner much better than stock as well.

As you can see in the photos, I have the glove box removed currently. I have all of the parts for it bagged and I will gladly reinstall it if you wish. Also, underneath the radio you'll see a hole, that is where the Greddy Electronic Boost controller is located. I currently have that removed due to smog, but it WILL be included with the car.

This car comes with a couple of extra parts as well if you want them, I will discuss this with the buyer based on the price. (2nd Refurbed MAF ~$250, High Flow Walbro Fuel Pump, a second set of Turbo wheels w/ nearly NEW Falken tires ~$400 etc etc).

Please click this link to go to my photbucket album and take a look at my car, Ebay will only allow me to post 4 pictures free:

If you have any questions whatsoever, please feel free to call or text me at (530) 919-9798 (Leave a voicemail if no answer, bad cell service at home) or contact me through ebay and I will be glad to answer them to the best of my ability. I can also take more pictures of specific areas if you wish! The car is also for sale locally, and I reserve the right to end the auction early if I reach an agreement outside of ebay. You CAN drive the car home if you wish, however it may be good to have a truck to bring that extra set of wheels with you. Also, if you are local, we can definitely arrange for you to come see the car.

Datsun's lackluster initial sales fall below Tata Nano

Wed, 15 Oct 2014

When Tata introduced the Nano back in 2008, everyone was amazed at how cheap it was. They called it a game changer, but no game was changed. In fact, it took Tata five years to sell the 250,000 units it had the capacity to build in a single year. As it turns out, even buyers in what economists call "developing markets" like India aren't necessarily interested in buying an ultra-cheap automobile. And now it appears that Nissan may be falling into the same trap.
A little over a year ago, Nissan revived its old moniker Datsun to serve as a budget brand - similar to what ally Renault did with Dacia. Its lineup (consisting of models like the Go hatchback, Go+ minivan, On-Do sedan and Mi-Do hatch) is largely based on old architecture, packaged with little more than basic equipment and sold at rock-bottom prices. But Bloomberg reports that, even in the brand's core markets like India and Indonesia, the new Datsuns haven't been selling.
According to local industry figures, Datsun has sold fewer than 10,000 units of its $5,100 Go hatchbacks in India since its introduction back in March. Maruti Suzuki, by comparison, sells twice that many of its similarly priced Alto hatchbacks every month. In fact, after peaking in April, Datsun only sold 607 units in India this past July, dipping 77 percent to drop below even the number of Nanos which Tata sold that month.

Nissan IDx Nismo and IDx Freeflow concepts are a bridge to the Datsun 510

Wed, 20 Nov 2013

We're not sure if someone from The Adjustment Bureau stopped by Nissan's PR department to explain the IDx Nismo and IDx Freeflow concepts, but the company's odd press release can't diminish our love for these two show favorites. We had been told to look out for an unnamed Datsun 510 BRE homage, and once we saw the brothers IDx, we knew we'd found them. But the press release doesn't mention anything about the Datsun 510 Brock Racing Enterprises, nor does it mention one Mr. Peter Brock, the man who won two Trans-Am championships in the Seventies for the nascent Japanese budget brand.
Instead, it declares that the cars were the result of a co-creation product development process with "digital natives," said natives being the whippersnappers born after 1990. Nissan says it worked with the young'uns to create two different expressions of "their desire for a basic, authentic configuration for a car." If that's true, it appears that what the kiddies really want are... two different homages to the Datsun 510 BRE that Peter Brock used to win two championships in the seventies for the nascent Japanese brand.
The IDx Freeflow - the "ID" is for "identification," the "x" is "the variable representing the new values and dreams born through communication" - takes the casual approach, with a light khaki exterior hue, a minimalist interior decked out in denim and a console shifter that works a continuously variable transmission. The IDx Nismo is out for blood, from its crimson interior to its five-point harness to its bolt-on flares and sidepipes. We aren't told what the digital natives requested for powerplants, but that's alright; if this is what "co-creation" looks like, we're not entirely against it except where that "CVT" is involved.

Nissan IDx 'in the plan' for production, needs support from fans [w/poll]

Wed, 15 Jan 2014

If there's a trend in the auto industry we can firmly get behind, it's the small, light and affordable rear-drive coupe. The positive critical reception to the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ twins has encouraged other manufacturers to look at building their own rear drivers, and even a few to show actual concept cars based on the idea. The Chevrolet Code 130R from 2012 and more recently, the Nissan IDx twins that were first shown at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show both come to mind, as does the brand-new Kia GT4 Stinger Concept.
Nissan trotted out the IDx Nismo and the IDx Freeflow for another showing in Detroit and we'll admit to being totally smitten with both cars. Again. The duo draw inspiration from the iconic Datsun 510, a lightweight, affordable rear-driver that remains a cult favorite decades after production ended.
Now, a report from our friends at AutoWeek reveals that we may, possibly, hopefully see a production IDx, provided fans make a strong enough case for it. "It's in the plan," Nissan product boss Andy Palmer told AW. According to the report, Palmer said the IDx is "into the first sage of the development process. The next stage is project validation and then looking at the business case. It's no one's intent to waste millions of the company's money, so obviously we have a good feeling about this one."
